Anabel Wilton, relieved that Irene Spencer hadn’t raised the matter again, took the initiative to show goodwill.
"There are many people downstairs; let go get it for you."
Irene Spencer paid her a good salary, so Anabel didn’t want to completely fall out with her unless it was utterly necessary.

The alarm on the cell phone on the table went off.
Vera Wave reached out with her bare arm, grabbed the phone, turned off the alarm, yawned, and opened her eyes.
She stared at the ceiling for a mont, then looked around in confusion.
She was the only one on the single bed. Kris Cooper was nowhere to be seen.
Just as she was wondering, a soft BEEP ca from the door. She quickly pulled the thin quilt to cover her shoulders.
"Who is it?!"
"Your hubby!" Kris Cooper walked in with takeaway breakfast from the restaurant. He placed the breakfast on the table and sat down beside her. "Get up and eat. Don’t you have a shoot later?"
"It’s such bliss to have a husband! I open my eyes, and there’s food!"
She grabbed her clothes, threw them on, leaned over to give him a quick kiss on the cheek, then hopped out of bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up.
After they had breakfast together, Vera quickly gathered her phone and backpack. Kris Cooper stood up, laptop in hand.
"You... you’re going too?!"
"Can’t I?"
"You rarely get a day off. Why don’t you just relax in the room?"
"Watching you is the best kind of rest for ." He put an arm around her shoulder, playfully ruffled her hair, and smoothly took her bag. "Today, just consider your assistant."
"Hehe!" Vera grinned, pulled open the door, and beckoned to him with a bossy little wave of her finger. "Assistant Cooper, shall we be off then?"
Kris Cooper chuckled and followed her out.
As luck would have it, Irene Spencer and Anabel Wilton were also stepping out of their room. Upon seeing Kris Cooper, both won visibly started, their eyes flickering. Kris Cooper shot them a warning glance.
Spotting Irene, Vera, who had been walking ahead of Kris Cooper, looped her arm through his and clung to him affectionately.
"Hubby, look... Sis Irene is out too! Sis Irene, what a coincidence!"
She wasn’t usually the type to be overly clingy with Kris Cooper in front of others, but with Irene Spencer present, she didn’t mind flaunting their affection one bit.
Humph! That damned woman dares to covet my man? I’ll flaunt our love right in her face and make her furious!
How could Irene Spencer not see through Vera’s act? Her chest heaved with suppressed anger, yet she didn’t dare let any emotion show on her face.
"Kris, Vera... What a coincidence!"
"Then let’s go downstairs together!" Vera said, pulling Kris Cooper towards the elevator.
In this situation, Irene Spencer naturally couldn’t object and had no choice but to follow them into the elevator.
"Hubby!" Vera deliberately raised her voice. "After we finish filming, can we go to France? I want to buy clothes. The season’s changing, and I don’t have any new outfits."
Kris Cooper, perceptive as he was, had already seen through her little sche. He just smiled and played along.
"Sure."
"I also want to buy costics! Oh, and jewelry!"
"Alright." Leaning back lazily against the elevator wall, he replied in an indulgent tone, "Whatever you want, I’ll buy it for you."
"What if I want the moon from the sky?"
"Then I’ll pluck it for you!"
