The fingers danced rapidly, and line by line of text appeared on the screen.
After finishing the entire report, Vera Wave reviewed it from beginning to end, corrected two typos and a misplaced punctuation mark, then opened the email, wrote a ssage to Kate Palr, and scheduled it to be sent at work ti the next morning.
After doing all this, she stood up and tidied the entire office, finally taking an A4 paper to write a note and placed it in the drawer.
Once everything was tidied, it was already noon.
She stepped out of the office and actively approached rlin Bradley.
"rlin, let’s go, I’m treating you all to lunch... Little Ya, Brother Ruben, hurry up!"
"What’s up?" rlin Bradley glanced at her, "Why are you suddenly treating us to lunch?"
"Don’t want to go?" Vera folded her arms, "Then I won’t treat you!"
"No, don’t!" Wang Xiaoya had already co over, "What are you planning to treat us to, Mrs. CEO?"
Upon hearing the words "Mrs. CEO", Vera secretly clenched her fist, but her face still had a cheerful smile, "If you want to eat, just follow !"
Picking up her bag, she led the three downstairs and found a restaurant near the company.
Without letting others order, she ordered a large table of dishes herself and uncharacteristically asked for a bottle of beer.
Personally pouring wine for the three, she picked up her own glass.
"These days, thank you all for your help, co, I toast to you!"
"No way..." Wang Xiaoya glanced at the other two, "Vera, you... you sound like you’re saying goodbye?"
"Right!" rlin Bradley also turned her face, glanced at Vera, and reached out to gently touch her belly, "Could it be... you’re pregnant with our little CEO, going ho to nurture?"
"Get out of here!" Vera pushed her hand away, "Can’t I have won the lottery yesterday?"
Wang Xiaoya imdiately rolled her eyes, "Are you serious? How can you have such good luck, I’ve been buying consecutively for fifteen draws and haven’t won a single one!"
Ruben Campbell chuckled, "That’s what you call unstoppable luck, co on, let’s all have a drink, we still have to work this afternoon!"
And so, the four glasses clinked.
At the table, Vera kept serving dishes to the three.
Since she joined the company, the help she received from these three was undeniable. As she was about to leave, she wanted to properly thank them.
Finally, she poured the remaining bit of beer from the bottle into her glass, then raised the glass with both hands.
"Thank you, everyone!"
Smiling, she glanced at everyone, brought the glass to her lips, and drank it all in one go.
She deliberately concealed, and the three didn’t notice any emotional changes in her.
After finishing their al, they all walked out of the restaurant together, and Vera stopped.
"I have sothing this afternoon, you guys go back first, cover for if anything cos up."
The three responded and bid her farewell, walking towards the company’s direction.
Watching them walk away, Vera went to the roadside, hailed a cab, and headed straight to Christoper Cooper’s apartnt.
Taking the elevator upstairs, using the key he gave her to open the apartnt door, she put down her bag and imdiately grabbed a cloth to start tidying the room.
From the living room to the restroom, from downstairs to upstairs...
Except for the docunts in the study room, which she didn’t dare to touch, she cleaned every other room one by one, took down his bedsheets and replaced them with new ones, carried them to the restroom downstairs, and washed them all together with the dirty clothes in the washing machine, one by one smoothing them out.
