Furiously cursing, Kris Cooper hung up the phone, strode into the elevator, and paced back and forth inside, clutching his phone.
Sothing must have happened.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have left without a word.

Raising his hand to hold his forehead, he tried to calm himself down and think over the entire situation.

Rushing out of the elevator and then the building, ignoring the strange looks from passersby, he jumped into his car and drove urgently toward the small gate.
The car shot out of the small gate and stopped at the red light at the intersection. Kris Cooper looked at the road ahead, once again feeling lost.

His phone rang once more in his pocket.
He started the car, crossing the parking line, and brought the phone to his ear.
"Kris."
It was Andre Colin’s voice on the other end.
"Is Vera with you?"
Kris Cooper imdiately asked urgently.
Grasping at straws, he had no clue at this point.
Andre Colin’s tone imdiately turned serious, "What happened?"
"That girl left a note and disappeared without a word!"
Upon hearing this, Andre Colin rembered yesterday’s events, "What exactly happened between you two?"
"Us?" Kris Cooper looked puzzled, "Why do you ask?"
"She ca by yesterday and brought a gift specifically. Her mood seed off. I asked her a few questions, but she wouldn’t say anything."
Andre Colin initially thought perhaps they just had a little tiff.
Lovers sotis have minor conflicts, which is normal, especially considering Kris Cooper’s temper.
Originally, Andre Colin wanted to call Kris Cooper to remind him, but after that late-night call from him, the saying "a quarrel at one’s pillow ends at one’s feet" seed to apply. He thought the two had made up and didn’t pay much attention to it.
"Must be that you couldn’t control your awful temper again, right?"

After giving him the address, Kris Cooper hung up, jerked the steering wheel to switch lanes, and stepped on the gas to rush through the yellow light.
Ignoring the cars he forced to stop, he just gripped the steering wheel tightly and sped as fast as he could towards the Wave Clan’s old residence.
