"That’s right!" Lily Wang glanced at the pen holder and laughed, "There’s one more here that I didn’t see."
Everyone imdiately gave her a blank stare. She reached over with her chubby hand and slowly unfolded the note inside.
Everyone was looking at the note in her hand with curiosity.
"Can you hurry up, you’re killing with suspense!" rlin Bradley urged.
Lily Wang laughed and then waved the note in her hand at everyone.
"Vera Wave!"
As soon as everyone heard this, they imdiately clapped with smiles. Vera looked over, a bit surprised, still having so disbelief about this fact.
Archie Perkin was already walking over graciously, extending his hand to her.
"Vera, congratulations."
"Thank you!"
Vera smiled as she extended her hand.
This ti, with the anonymous voting, everyone voted for the na they recognized the most, and she won by one vote, relying on her capability and her colleagues’ acknowledgnt.
Everyone also believed that she deserved to be the Planning Departnt Manager.
"But don’t get too proud. Although I fell behind by one vote this ti, I will work harder in the future," Archie Perkin joked.
Vera just smiled and nodded, " too!"
"Manager Vera, are you treating us tonight?"
"Exactly, you must treat us after getting promoted!"
...
"Vera doesn’t need to treat today!" Kate Palr raised her arms, signaling everyone not to coax, "You’ve all worked hard this week, today... it’s my treat!"
"Long live Director Kate!"
...
Kate Palr laughed and spoke up.
"Alright, everyone clean up, and we’ll head out in a bit."
Everybody packed up their things at their own desks, and Vera returned to her office, picking up the phone on her desk to dial Kris Cooper’s cell.
Hearing that Vera was going to a gathering with her colleagues, he didn’t stop her.
"I still have work here, you go with them, and put it on my tab. I’ll co pick you up when I’m done."
"No need, it’s Director Kate’s treat today."
On the desk, her phone rang; seeing it was Daffa Perkin’s call, Vera said goodbye to Kris Cooper and answered the phone.
"Director Zhang?"
After so small talk and asking about her well-being, Daffa Perkin got to the point.
"We need to reshoot the previous scenes. Do you have ti this weekend?"
"This..."
Vera hesitated a bit, as she was still traumatized by the previous frightening incident.
"Don’t worry, this ti we’ve adjusted the plan to prevent any previous accidents. This ti we’re filming directly in the photo booth and adding effects later, so it’s absolutely safe. We’ll shoot directly in Nicosa for the next two days."
"Great." Vera imdiately relaxed. "Then there’s no problem."
The two agreed on a ti and place, and Vera hung up the phone, going to dinner with her colleagues.
Around nine, Kris Cooper indeed arrived, settled the bill downstairs first, then ca upstairs to pick her up.
Seeing the boss arrive, no one dared to stop Vera, and everyone jokingly ushered the two out the door.
Once in the car and seeing there was no one around, Vera leaned over and kissed him loudly on the cheek.
"Honey, I have good news to tell you!"
"What a coincidence, I also have good news to tell you!"
"What’s your news?" she asked curiously.
"You say it first," the man replied with a doting tone.
Vera puffed out her small chest, "Ahem, telling you now, the person sitting next to you is no longer Vera Wave!"
"Then who is it?" he asked with a laugh.
