Ding dong!
The door was knocked, then ca a cute little girl’s voice.
"Ding dong, can I co in?"
Kris Cooper closed the docunts in his hand, gathering the papers on the desk and putting them into the drawer.
"Manager Vera, please co in!"
The door opened, and Vera Wave walked in with her hands behind her back, inspecting the room like a supervisor, then walked to his side.
"What sneaky thing are you doing, are you flirting with other girls behind my back?!"
He raised his hand to pull her onto his lap, then extended a finger to help tidy her hair.
"Is Grandma asleep?"
"Mm."
She circled his neck with one arm and leaned her face against his, feeling that there was sothing hard on his chest. She straightened up and reached her small hand into his pocket, pulling out his wallet.
Originally intending to place it on the desk, she thought for a mont and then withdrew her hand to open it.
"Honey," staring at the photo in the wallet, she squinted slightly, "when was this taken?"
"This was taken when we went to xico together..." Kris Cooper, holding her with one hand, took the wallet with the other, "It was taken with a cellphone, the lighting wasn’t very good."
"Did we go to many places back then?"
"Of course, besides Las Vegas, we’ve been to almost all the fun places in Arica, and also France, Italy..."
She pouted, thinking there must have been many beautiful mories back then, yet she couldn’t rember at all.
"Do you have any other photos?"
Kris Cooper shook his head.
After she vanished inexplicably, he kept looking for her. Initially, he thought sothing happened or she encountered difficulties, but later she unexpectedly canceled her student registration. At that ti, he was very angry and in a fit of rage, destroyed everything. This photo survived only because it was on his phone.
"Why!" Vera Wave smirked mischievously, "Are you afraid your new girlfriend might see them?"
Kris Cooper didn’t want to make her sad, so he didn’t explain and simply held her tighter, burying his face in her chest.
"After you left, I never dated anyone else."
Feeling his emotions, she also reached out to embrace his head.
"Were you... really angry back then?"
"A bit."
He said lightly.
Even though he didn’t elaborate, it’s easy to imagine what it must have been like.
The person you love and are about to marry suddenly disappears without a trace; he must have been furious.
Andre Colin once said he ’almost went crazy’ at the ti.
Thinking of this, Vera Wave felt both apologetic and heartache.
"Kris, I’m sorry."
"It’s not your fault." He raised his face and smiled reassuringly at her, "Didn’t we agree not to dwell on past events? Speaking of which, you got promoted today; shouldn’t we celebrate a bit?"
"Wait up!"
Vera Wave stood up and walked out of the Study Room.
He was still puzzled, and monts later she returned with two glasses of wine, handing one to him.
"Cheers!"
He lifted his hand to clink glasses lightly with her. The delicate clink of the glasses filled the room, and he downed his drink in one go.
Vera Wave widened her eyes, "You drank way too fast, I still have so much left?"
"Then give a little."
"Alright."
She picked up her glass and brought it to his lips, but he didn’t drink.
"I don’t want to use the glass."
"If not the glass, are you going to use your mouth?!"
He just smiled.
"You can try."
