As for the box office, Kris Cooper was not completely uninterested. However, there were various ways to promote a film, and they didn’t necessarily need to involve Vera Wave. The further she stayed away from the murky waters of the entertainnt industry, the better.
"I see..." The director sensed Kris Cooper’s intentions. He was slightly disappointed but still smiled and nodded. "Alright, I understand."
He’s the boss, the leader; naturally, what he says goes.
After dinner, everyone continued to film the last two scenes, and then Kris Cooper left the set with Vera Wave.
As soon as their car left the studio gates, Kris Cooper spoke affectionately, "Would you like to relax in the suburbs?"
"Do you have ti?" Vera Wave asked.
Kris Cooper was still in a teasing mood, declaring, "Of course! Being with my wife is more important than work!" when his phone suddenly rang.
The call was from Tommy Taylor. He reported that a significant system bug had occurred in Glimr’s ga, allowing players to repeatedly exploit it to win prizes and digital coins.
Upon hearing this, Kris Cooper just frowned. "Recall everyone from the technical departnt. I’m heading over imdiately."
Prizes and digital coins, while virtual items in the ga, could be directly converted into cash or used for trading. If this continued, it would be equivalent to players siphoning money directly from Glimr. As the Chief Technology Officer, he certainly couldn’t ignore a critical bug like this.
"Honey, can we go to the suburbs tomorrow instead? There’s a bug in the ga, and players are farming massive amounts of digital coins. I have to go back to the company now," Kris Cooper said, his tone urgent.
From the passenger seat, Vera Wave burst out laughing. "And who was it that just said spending ti with his wife was more important than anything?" she teased.
He pursed his lips. "Alright then, forget about it! Let’s go horseback riding!"
"I’m joking!" Vera Wave turned to him. "Just drop at the station up ahead. I’ll take a cab ho myself."
He wouldn’t be this anxious if it weren’t an urgent work matter, she thought. As a good wife, of course, I should support my husband’s work. How could I hold him back?
"I’ll take you ho first, then go," Kris Cooper offered.
Vera Wave imdiately gave him a huge eye-roll. "You spendthrift! You may have money to burn, but ti is money! Go fix that bug quickly. I don’t want my money being siphoned away by others! I’m ordering you: get to the company right now and patch that hole in my wallet!"
Hearing the girl’s playfully domineering words, a smile touched Kris Cooper’s lips. "Or... you could co along with ?" he suggested.
If she ca with him, he’d have to look after her, and that would inevitably be a distraction, he mused.
"No, thanks. I can go ho, tidy up a bit, and spend so ti with Grandma. After you’re done with your work, we can go horseback riding," she replied.
Kris Cooper relented. "Alright!"
Taking her all the way ho would indeed be a bit of a detour. After a mont’s thought, Kris Cooper agreed and pulled the car over to the side of the road. He got out first, hailed a taxi for her, paid the fare, and helped her settle into the back seat. "Call when you get ho," he reminded her.
"Got it. You should hurry now, but drive safely," Vera Wave replied, waving to him as the taxi pulled away. Kris Cooper watched until she was safely on her way, then got back into his car and headed for Glimr.

When Vera Wave returned to the old family ho, Mrs. Feng was taking cushions and other similar items out from the living room to air them.
After greeting Mrs. Feng, Vera Wave walked to the backyard, where she saw her grandmother standing in front of a door.
"Why won’t this door open?" her grandmother asked.
Vera Wave hurried over. "Grandma, what are you doing?"
"It’s such a nice day, so I asked them to air out the things and open the windows for ventilation. But I don’t know who locked this room." Grandma shook the keychain in her hand. "None of these keys work!"
