He originally wanted to co up with an excuse, like saying there was a eting at the company, so he could leave and carefully think through what to do about this situation.
Halfway through his words, her arm had already wrapped around his neck, and she moved over to give him a kiss on the cheek.
"Nathan, I’m so happy to finally have this day... I love you." She snuggled her head onto his shoulder, "Do you know, this is the happiest day for in the last six years."

Nathan Leafcastle couldn’t lie down any longer. He gently pulled away her arm and got up, frowning again at the clothes scattered on the floor.
He walked briskly over to the wardrobe, grabbed a shirt and threw it over himself, then stepped into the bathroom.
Standing in front of the sink, he washed his face, then leaned on the sink, looking at himself in the mirror.
His face was reflected in the mirror, with faint kiss marks on his neck.
He touched the skin of his neck and sighed heavily again, weakly staggered back two steps, and sat down on the toilet.
Noticing bloodstains on his leg, he looked over in confusion. There were no wounds on his leg, nor any anomalies elsewhere.
This wasn’t his blood!

He looked at his arm sideways.
