Vera Wave shrugged her shoulders.
"The entertainnt industry isn’t suitable for !"
The two exchanged a glance, each sighing.
"What a waste of your face. If I looked like you, I would have beco a star long ago!"
"Exactly, what a waste!"
The two exchanged a few more remarks, then turned to leave together and resud their work.
Watching the two leave, Vera touched her face, smiled, and shook her head.
On the table, the telephone rang, and Vera picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Are you Miss Vera Wave?"
"Yes, I am. Who am I speaking with?"
"I’m a journalist from the ’XX’ entertainnt section. Could I interview you?"
A journalist?!
"Sorry, I’m busy."
Vera quickly hung up the phone.
Just as she hung up, the phone rang again.
"Miss Vera, are you really the forr heiress of Walter Wave Real Estate?"

"Miss Vera, I am an editor from ’Fashion’ magazine. Could you co for a photo shoot?"

After a few similar calls, Vera disconnected the telephone line.
Not two minutes after it went silent, her mobile phone rang. Seeing an unknown number, she imdiately hung up without picking up.
Soon, there were several text ssages, nurous calls, and countless Whatsapp friend requests...
Vera looked at her constantly vibrating phone and switched it off.
However, it didn’t stop.
A mont later, rlin Bradley walked in.
"Vera, there is a call for you outside, sothing about a TV program..."
"Tell them I’m not here!"
"But..." rlin looked helpless. "I thought it was a company client, so I said you’re here!"
Vera felt exasperated. "Then go and tell them I’m in a eting now, not answering calls, not accepting any interviews, not participating in any shows, not doing any photo shoots, and not answering any questions. Understand?"
"Okay!"
rlin stuck out her tongue at Vera and headed for the door.
"And!" Vera added, "If anyone else asks for , just say... I’m not here!"
"Understood."
rlin smiled and left the office.
Okay, finally so peace and quiet!
「The morning flew by.」
At lunchti, Vera went with a few others to the restaurant on the ground floor.
Approaching the restaurant, she cautiously surveyed her surroundings. She had already inford Reception. Moreover, Ashton’s security system was robust, aning journalists couldn’t enter the building without a valid reason. Despite this, Vera still felt sowhat apprehensive.
Luckily, no journalists rushed out. She let out a sigh of relief and walked with the group into the restaurant. They hadn’t even found a seat when they heard people whispering.
"Have you seen the news? Our future boss’s wife sure is impressive!"
"I saw it, but it’s hard to say who’s the mistress nowadays!"
"Exactly! Didn’t you see in the news? Irene Spencer knew the CEO when he was starting his business in Arica!"
"So by your logic, does that make Vera the mistress?"

People will talk. It’s easy to flap your lips and not take any responsibility for what cos out.
They didn’t realize that such gossip could hurt the individuals involved.
Mary, who had a fiery temper, instantly flared up. She was about to confront them, snapping, "No, what do they an by..."
"rlin!" Vera grabbed her arm, strode over to their table, and asked, "What are you all having for lunch?"
