Or maybe, he shouldn’t have co back at all.
In the back seat, Dr. Sumrton sighed softly.
"Mr. Leafcastle is truly devoted."
Although Nathan Leafcastle had never ntioned his relationship with Vera Wave, as a psychologist, he naturally understood others’ minds best, and instinctively noticed the unspoken world within Nathan Leafcastle.
Nathan Leafcastle lifted the corners of his mouth in self-mockery, his smile extrely bitter.
Of what use is devotion when she never wanted him!
"Dr. Sumrton," he spoke softly, "In your opinion, is Vera truly happy?"
"I’m not sure about that, but I can see she deeply loves that gentleman, willing to wrong herself for him. Of course, that gentleman loves her very much too." At this point, Dr. Sumrton shrugged, "That gentleman is of the lion-type breed, passionate and forceful in love."
Nathan Leafcastle gazed at the road ahead.
"Doctor, can you tell , how can one forget soone they love?"
"That’s impossible." Dr. Sumrton slightly raised the corners of his lips, "We’ve conducted surveys, and people who have truly loved can never forget. However, I do have a little suggestion for you."
"What suggestion?"
"Try to start a new relationship; ti is never the good redy for heartbreak, a new lover is."
Sally Dalton’s gentle smile flashed before Nathan Leafcastle’s eyes.
So, is it Sally Dalton?
...
...
In the parking lot.
Kris Cooper watched as Nathan Leafcastle’s car lights disappeared around the bend, withdrawing his arm from Vera Wave’s shoulders as he strode towards the car.
"Sir!" The little security guard chased after him, "Your coat!"
He ignored him, continuing to stride forward.
Vera hurriedly took his coat from the security guard’s hand and ran after him.
"Honey, wait for !"
He continued walking without turning back.
"Honey!"
"..."
"Cooper!"
"..."
Vera sighed helplessly, had to quicken her pace to catch up to him, glancing at his side profile, unsurprisingly seeing his expression grim, his brows knitted into a knot of displeasure.
The external conflict resolved, now only the internal conflict remained.
While with Nathan Leafcastle, he naturally wouldn’t act up.
But now, he was very angry.
"Honey!"
Vera held onto his arm; with his long legs, he took one stride and she was left behind again.
"Honey!" Vera stopped, panting, "Are you bullying because my legs are short?"
The man ahead kept up his strides, as she frowned, had to rush to catch up, this ti charging right in front of him, stretching her arm to block him.
He tried to go left, she moved left, he tried to go right, she moved right.
Then she smiled mischievously at him.
The man didn’t smile, instead turned around, walking back the other way.
Really mad now!
Vera arched her brow helplessly, had to chase after him again, rushing in front of him, reaching out to wrap her arms around his waist.
"Honey, are you really mad?"
The man kept a stern face, ignoring her.
Was she blind? Couldn’t she see how furious he was right now!
If it were anyone else, he would have tossed them into the trash bin, let them reflect until they ca to their senses.
"Brother Nathan... no, Nathan Leafcastle ca by himself, I... I didn’t expect him to co, so... you can’t bla for that! Fine, fine, it’s all my fault. I apologize. My dear husband, I’m sorry, is that okay?"
