After finalizing the invitation, Sally Dalton once discussed the guest list with Nathan Leafcastle.
To prevent leaving anyone out, the two of them specifically went through the contacts on Nathan Leafcastle’s phone together.
When they ca across Vera Wave’s number, Nathan Leafcastle hesitated for a mont and then moved on, not ntioning anything about inviting her. Sally Dalton, however, noticed his thoughts.
Actually, he really hoped Vera Wave and Grandma Wave could co, but he was afraid she might overthink, and also worried about Kris Cooper being involved with Vera Wave, so he didn’t bring it up.
She specifically sought out Vera Wave in hopes of helping him nd the previous relationship.
After all, in Nathan Leafcastle’s understanding, both Grandma Wave and Vera Wave were extrely important to him.
"This..."
Vera Wave clutched the invitation in her hand, feeling it was heavy.
If it were only about the previous relationship, Nathan Leafcastle’s engagent was such a big event that she would definitely attend.
But now...
"Of course, I also know Miss Wave has her own considerations." Sally Dalton took a small gift box out of her bag and offered it to her with both hands, "This is a little gift I prepared for the two of you, hoping you’ll accept it with a smile, and wishing you both a long and happy life together. If it’s inconvenient for you ti-wise, then never mind."
She hoped to restore this friendship for Nathan Leafcastle, but she also understood that so things couldn’t be forced. Smiling at Vera Wave, Sally Dalton nodded and stepped towards the exit.
"Miss Dalton!" Vera Wave stood up and called to her.
Sally Dalton turned around, looking at her expectantly.
"I will consider it," Vera Wave said.
The girl revealed a smile on her face, "Thank you."
After Sally Dalton left the café, Vera Wave grabbed the small gift box on the table, held the invitation, and left the café. Staring at Nathan Leafcastle’s signature on it, many things echoed in her mind.
When she was young, he took great care of her.
For her, he even broke a leg.

It wasn’t until Kris Cooper called that she ca back to her senses.
"Co downstairs, I’m here."
"Okay, I’ll be right over."
She ran back to the Ashton Building, and sure enough, she saw Kris Cooper’s car parked at the entrance from afar, so she quickly walked over.
Seeing her arrive from another direction, Kris Cooper curiously asked.
"Did you go out?"
Vera Wave didn’t say anything, just reached out and handed him the gift that Sally Dalton had given her.
Kris Cooper opened the packaging to find a pair of small jade carvings of Ruyi. He picked one up and played with it in his hand, curiously looking at Vera Wave.
"Tell , what’s going on?"
"I didn’t buy this." Vera Wave pouted, "It’s from Sally Dalton!"
"Sally Dalton?" Kris Cooper slightly frowned, "You an, the heiress of Barker Group?"
Vera Wave nodded, then handed over the invitation. After flipping it open and taking a look, Kris Cooper lightly raised an eyebrow and casually tossed the invitation onto the windshield.
"Tell her, the president’s wife is very busy with countless dinner parties every day, no ti to attend."
He started the car. Vera Wave looked at the gift box he casually tossed aside but said nothing more.
Kris Cooper didn’t take her back to his place but rather sent her to the old Wave family estate. Having stayed outside these days, he knew she must have missed her grandmother.
Upon returning to the old estate, he imdiately gave the gifts he brought back from abroad to the elderly, along with their marriage docunts.
Grandma Wave looked at the docunts in her hand with a puzzled expression, "Aren’t marriage certificates supposed to be red? Why is it just a piece of paper now?"
