Vera and others also followed Tommy Taylor into the elevator, arriving at the VIP Hall on the 9th floor. Except for Vera, the others were escorted by the staff through the main entrance. Tommy personally led Vera through the side entrance to an upper level, reaching a special rest room.
"Please rest here for a while. I’ll co notify you to head downstairs when the ti cos."
Vera looked around.
"Where’s Kris?!"
"Mr. Cooper is downstairs, attending to guests." Tommy nodded towards the glass window.
Vera turned her gaze.
Outside the window was the luxuriously decorated hall, where the crystal chandeliers shone brilliantly.
From above, everything in the hall was clearly visible. At the entrance, Kris Cooper was smiling and shaking hands with a guest.
It’s uncertain whether it was coincidental or he sensed her gaze.
He turned his head, looking towards her on the upper level.
Even from such a distance, and the glass being one-way, you couldn’t see inside from downstairs.
Despite this, he still smiled softly.
The man was wearing a silver-gray suit, black shirt, black trousers, and a silver bow tie, making his face appear as delicate as jade.
One hand dangled at his side, casually holding a wine glass, while the other was resting on the railing behind him, giving off a relaxed vibe.
Even so, his casual stance seed like an exquisitely photographed scene, handso and captivating.
Despite the distance, Vera’s heart fluttered.
"You rest for a while, I’ll go inform Mr. President."
Tommy exited the room.
A mont later, he appeared beside Kris Cooper, whispering a few words. The man again looked towards the glass window, lifting his right hand, gesturing a greeting with his fingers.
Knowing he couldn’t see, she still raised her hand, waving back to him.
At this point, Kris Cooper had already taken the phone handed to him by Tommy, gesturing towards it, then brought the phone to his ear.
Vera’s clutch bag vibrated; she hurriedly took out her phone, seeing his number indeed displayed on it.
"Hello?"
"Rest upstairs for a while, and co down after all the guests arrive."
"Alright."
"There’s juice and snacks in the fridge; you can have so to tide you over." Kris Cooper checked the entrance, "Guests are arriving, I’ll hang up now."
Vera put away her phone, indeed seeing him turn his face towards the exit.
At the entrance walked in two n, both tall and well-presented.
One was coldly handso, the other warm as jade, precisely Kenton Maverick and Andre Colin.
"Congratulations." One after the other, they congratulated their friend, Andre Colin looked around, "Where’s Vera?"
"I let her rest upstairs so she wouldn’t get too tired." Kris Cooper’s gaze fell on Kenton Maverick, "Why didn’t Sister Evelyn co?"
"Their band is performing in Vienna, so she couldn’t make it in ti." As he spoke, Kenton Maverick raised his right hand, handing over a square box, "She had this gift couriered, asking to pass it to you and Vera. My parents should already be here, right?"
Kris Cooper turned his head, nodding towards a direction.
"Over there."
Kenton Maverick raised his face to look, indeed spotting his parents beside Bailey Hansen and Christoper Cooper, chatting with several acquaintances.
At this mont, Andre Colin continued speaking.
"Debbie asked to apologize on her behalf for not being able to attend the engagent party, but she will definitely be back for the wedding."
