Everyone returned to work, Vera Wave glanced at her wristwatch and noticed it was close to noon. She accepted the water cup handed by Isla Hawskin, took a few sips, and imdiately went downstairs to rush back to the old residence.
Upon entering the backyard, she saw Kendrick happily chatting with Grandma Wave, the elderly lady’s face filled with joyful smiles.
"Kendrick!"
"Miss!" Kendrick greeted her with a smile, embracing her, tears appearing in his cloudy eyes, "You’ve lost weight."
"I have not!" Vera Wave looked over the elderly lady up and down, noticing that she looked healthy and in good spirits, finally relaxing, "How is your health?"
"Now, I have a hearty appetite and feel vigorous!" Kendrick laughed, patting his chest, "Even climbing Fragrant Hill wouldn’t be a problem."
Seeing Grandma Wave watching the fish nearby, Kendrick led Vera Wave aside.
"I know about Mr. Cooper’s situation, you must be very busy these days and might not have ti for the lady. How about... I take her to the United States to stay for a few days?"
"How can that be possible? You’ve just recovered."
