So, Vera reached up and grabbed his tie, giving it a gentle shake.
"Brother Kris, could you please forgive this ti? I promise I won’t overcharge you ever again, okay?"
By the end of her plea, she bit her lip and looked up at him carefully, her big eyes blinking as she tried to appear pitiful and charming.
Not this act again?!
Did she think he would soften just because she was trying to look pathetic?!
Kris looked down at the petite face that was testing his resolve, gritting his teeth.
"No way!"
He had thought the little brat was starting to like him, and that was why she was being so nice. He never suspected her mind was only filled with money, and that she didn’t care about him in the slightest.
She was a heartless little thing. He needed to teach her a lesson, or who knew what mischief she’d cook up next.
"If you say no, then no!" Vera pouted in grievance. "I’ll just earn the money slowly and pay you back! So what’s the big deal!"
She pushed his arm away, then wiped her face with the back of her right hand, sniffled, and shrugged her shoulders.
Looking at her slumped shoulders, Kris felt his heart clench.
Crying?!
He frowned, looking at her slender neck exposed by her bathrobe, a sudden wave of regret washing over him.
She didn’t even rember him, so how could she suddenly be nice to him? He had been too hasty.
His heart softened instantly.
Vera stood still. He took a shallow breath, signed his na on the form, and reached around from behind to hand it to her.
"Alright, this ti... but it won’t happen again."
Raising her eyes to look at the signed form, Vera almost burst into giggles.
As she reached out to take the form, she lowered her head and mumbled a thank you.
Clutching the form, she made to leave.
She couldn’t let him see she’d just been putting on an act, all show and no real tears. He’d be furious if he found out!
She had barely taken a step when a large hand grabbed her, steadying her by the shoulders and turning her around. It was too late for Vera to wipe the smile from the corners of her lips.
Kris raised his hand, intending to wipe away her tears. But as he looked up, he saw the little minx’s lips curved into a smug, triumphant smile.
"Brother Kris, I..." Vera started, trying to sound pitiful, but before she could complete her fabricated excuse, he grabbed her, pinned her to the wall, and kissed her forcefully.
She twisted, pushed, and struggled...
But the man was immovable, like a mountain.
His kiss was as domineering as a flood, overwhelming her.
In re monts, she lost all her strength, left only gasping for breath.
By the ti she regained her senses and tried to bite him, his teeth were already nipping at her delicate lips.
The bite was intensely intimate. Though slightly painful, it wasn’t repulsive; instead, it felt as if he were nipping at her very heart, making her whole body tremble.
Then, the kiss moved downwards, across her chin, landing on her neck...
She suddenly felt a chill on her leg, followed by a burning sensation as if from a scorching hot hand, as his palm swept along the side of her thigh...
Vera instantly froze.
It took her several seconds to regain her senses before she finally pushed Kris away.
"You... you’ve gone too far!"
Kris, having stumbled back onto the bed, watched her dash out in her bathrobe before it fully dawned on him what he had done.
He’d gotten a bit carried away in the heat of the mont, definitely crossing a line.
"Vera, wait a minute!"
"No chance!"
Vera ignored him, rushing to the door and yanking on the door handle in an attempt to exit.
She tugged with all her might, the doorknob rattling loudly under her efforts, but the door remained stubbornly impassive.
Kris chased out after her. Watching her struggle futilely with the door, he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
"You’re pulling it the wrong way!"
