This matter was also handled by Vera Wave.
After careful investigation, it was confird that the villagers’ illness was unrelated to the river water. Furthermore, there was no actual pollution in the river. Only then did the project officially prepare to launch.
Releasing such news would invariably harm the project, so the company ultimately decided not to respond.
Since no problem had been found after the investigation, there was no need for further public discussion.
After all, for a real estate project, especially a villa project, the quality of the surrounding environnt plays a decisive role.
Kris Cooper brushed his face with his hand, his gaze falling on Kate Palr’s face. "Where did you get this information from?"
This is definitely a risky move. If soone really wanted to target Ashton, bringing up this information would be a preemptive strike. But if not, then bringing it up myself would be courting trouble for Ashton. After all, less trouble is better than more.
Kate Palr stared at his handso face. "It was Vera. She called just now, and she sounded very urgent."
"How about..." Tommy Taylor interjected, "I inform the Chairn and imdiately convene a eting to discuss this?"
"No need." Kris Cooper watched the fish swimming over to beg for food in the water. "Let’s hold an imdiate press conference," he stated. "Release this information, and set aside 10,000,000 USD to establish a treatnt fund for the villagers’ dical expenses."
"Okay, I’ll go prepare it right away." Tommy Taylor agreed and hurriedly walked towards the door.
"I’ll go with you!" Kate Palr was eager to follow him.
"Director Palr!" Kris Cooper called out to her. Kate Palr stopped and turned around. He walked up to her. "Give her a call. Tell her I’m refusing to listen."
Kate Palr raised an eyebrow. After a mont, she understood his aning and imdiately took out her phone to dial Vera Wave’s number, putting it on speaker.
As soon as Vera Wave answered the phone, she urgently asked, "President Palr, what’s the situation?"
"The President... he doesn’t want to listen."
"That guy!" Vera Wave blurted out in annoyance. "You tell him, this is no small matter. If it’s not handled well, the Peacock River project will be greatly impacted."
"I told him all that, but he... he simply refuses to listen."
"Does he... does he know that I’m the one who told you?"
Kate Palr looked at Kris Cooper across from her, who nodded lightly.
"Yes, when the President asked, I told him."
On the other end of the phone, Vera Wave sounded extrely anxious. "This is all my fault. I forgot to remind you not to tell him I was the one who told you. He must be mad at , that’s why he’s acting out of spite. This jerk... he’s always so impulsive! Does he think I would harm him? Director Palr... please, you have to figure out another way. If you absolutely have to, call my mom... no, call President Shen. You have to persuade him, the sooner the better! This is a project worth hundreds of millions! If anything goes wrong, Ashton will definitely be seriously affected!"
"Alright..." Kate Palr looked at Kris Cooper across from her. "I’ll try to figure sothing else out."
"Good. If he still won’t listen, you... you call again."
Before Kate Palr could say goodbye, Kris Cooper reached out and hung up the phone.
"Where does she live?"
Kate Palr gave him Vera Wave’s address. "I don’t know the exact floor, but I know it’s unit three."
"You go with Tommy Taylor and deal with this matter."
With those instructions, Kris Cooper turned, grabbed his car keys and coat from the table, and strode out of the office.
