He was about to get up.
"Hold on!" Irene Spencer hurriedly stopped him. "Drink so water first. I’ll get it for you."
She turned around and walked into the study of the suite. Kris Cooper glanced around, his gaze sweeping across the freshly squeezed juice she had poured for him before he quickly redirected his gaze to the study door.
「Inside the study.」
Irene Spencer opened a drawer, took out a small box, and lifted its lid.
Inside the box lay a miniature syringe.
Nathan Leafcastle had helped her prepare this, specifically for today—for Kris Cooper.
Once everything was ready, Irene Spencer hid the small syringe on her person, walked over, and gently eased the door open a crack.
Through the slit in the door, she could see Kris Cooper on the couch.
The man’s profile was impeccably handso; she couldn’t help but feel her heart stir.
For him, she had sched painstakingly for so many years, yet she hadn’t even received a single kiss.
Today, she *must* have him; it wouldn’t be for nothing that she had loved him all these years.
As for the future...
She scoffed inwardly. Hmph!
She had given him so much, yet he treated her so coldly. Well then, he shouldn’t bla her for being ruthless.
The phone in his pocket vibrated.
Kris Cooper took out his phone. Seeing it was a call from Vera Wave, he imdiately answered.
"Honey, where are you?"
"Clover Hall."
"eting who?"
Kris Cooper glanced sideways at the study door. Irene Spencer quickly ducked back behind it.
"Honey, can I explain when I get ho?"
Hearing the word ’honey,’ Irene Spencer’s lips curled into a cold smirk.
Vera Wave? Perfect!
She flung open the study door, deliberately raising her voice.
"Kris, I’m ready..."
Her tone was incredibly suggestive, and she had intentionally raised her voice, wanting Vera Wave on the other end of the line to hear it.
"Is that Irene Spencer?"
Kris Cooper imdiately stood up, strode to the door, and stepped into the hallway.
"Vera, don’t misunderstand. It’s not what you think. I’m here to get sothing from her."
"I know, but that woman is very cunning."
"Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon."
"I’ll be there soon. I’ll co find you."
"Okay." Kris Cooper didn’t refuse. Since he had a clear conscience, he naturally wasn’t afraid of her coming. "See you soon."
Hanging up, he returned to the room and walked over to Irene Spencer.
"Where is it?"
Irene Spencer raised her left hand and handed him a stack of docunts. "Here... it’s all in here!"
He took the docunts, sat down on the couch, and imdiately began flipping through the stack.
This was a set of project data for a large-scale project that had recently gained significant attention. Ashton had also been gathering information, preparing to bid.
While he was perusing the docunts on the couch, Irene Spencer subtly inched closer to his side, step by step, silently reaching her hand behind her back to remove the cap from the syringe.
Just as her hand extended, Kris Cooper looked up at her.
"How did you get this information?"
Startled by his sudden question and pricked by her guilty conscience, Irene Spencer nearly dropped the small syringe.
"I stole it from Nathan Leafcastle. He originally wanted to team up with against you." Irene Spencer forced a wry smile. "But I don’t want to be your enemy. I hope this information helps you."
Stolen?
Kris Cooper looked back at the docunts in his hand.
These were Barker’s planning proposal and bidding docunts, complete with their expected quotes. If this information was genuine and leaked, it could cause Barker to suffer a significant loss, potentially costing them the project.
