"Dad!" Sally Dalton grabbed her father’s arm, "Nathan didn’t do it on purpose, he also wanted to do his job well."
"Even so, why didn’t he follow the rules? Why did he make decisions without evaluations from all departnts?" Bernardy Dalton tapped the table, "Who gave him this authority?"
Nathan Leafcastle’s brow twitched.
"Dad!" Sally hurried to speak, "Don’t bla Nathan, this was my suggestion."
"Don’t defend him!"
"Dad, really, it was my suggestion, Nathan even opposed it before, but I insisted, and he had no choice but to do it." Sally shook her father’s arm, "Dad, I’m sorry, I’ll be careful next ti, next ti, okay?"
Bernardy Dalton took a deep breath, while Sally looked at him pleadingly.
Seeing the woman’s expression, Bernardy Dalton sighed deeply and walked over to stand in front of Nathan Leafcastle.
"Nathan, I’ve always thought highly of you, not just for your intelligence and capability, but more importantly, your character." He gently patted Nathan Leafcastle’s shoulder, "I hope you... won’t disappoint ."
The last sentence carried a hint of warning beneath its gentle tone.
Indeed, Bernardy Dalton had high hopes for Nathan Leafcastle, but that didn’t an he allowed Nathan to act as he pleased.
Ultimately, Nathan was just the CEO of Barker Corporation, his future son-in-law; after all, his surna wasn’t Dalton. In Bernardy Dalton’s eyes, Nathan Leafcastle was still an outsider.
Sally walked over to help Nathan out, "Dad, what are you saying? It’s not that serious, it’s clearly my fault. You’re not allowed to scold Nathan, or I’ll tell Mom when I get ho!"
Bernardy Dalton chuckled, "Go, make your dad so tea!"
"Okay, you two sit down first, I’ll go pour so tea for you."
Sally walked out of the office, and Bernardy Dalton put away his smile, looking intently at Nathan Leafcastle’s eyes.
"This little issue has passed, but I have sothing I need to remind you."
Nathan remained calm, "Please go ahead, Uncle Dalton!"
"In work, everyone makes mistakes, and I can forgive them. But..." Bernardy Dalton narrowed his eyes slightly, "If you hurt Sally, I will never forgive it."
Nathan’s treatnt toward Irene Spencer made Bernardy Dalton, as a man, think twice.
"This ti... I initially planned to hand over the entire East Asia business to you." Bernardy Dalton walked over and sat on the sofa, "Looks like I have to reconsider."
Nathan’s fingers at his side slowly curled inward.
"Don’t worry, Uncle Dalton, I will definitely strive hard."
Bernardy Dalton smiled, "Good."
The door was pushed open, and Sally walked in carrying the brewed tea. Seeing Nathan still standing there, she imdiately put down the teacups and walked over to pull him onto the sofa.
"Co, co, you two big bosses try the tea brewed by your little assistant, how is it?"
Both n knew she intended to ease the tension between them, so they smiled as they took the tea cups and started chatting casually.
After two cups of tea, Bernardy Dalton got up to greet other chairn, while Sally held onto Nathan’s arm.
"Dad sotis can be a bit impatient, don’t take it to heart. I know that this issue wasn’t what you wanted, don’t think too much about it."
"Mm." Nathan nodded, "You go and greet everyone, I’ll get ready."
Sally walked out of the office to prepare for the eting, and Nathan leaned his back against the chair, suddenly sitting upright and flicking the cup in front of him to the ground with one hand.
