On the other end of the phone, the man remained silent for a mont.
"Do you have sothing to discuss?"
"I think..." the lawyer lightly curved his lips, "we should et, because Miss ng has a note she’d like to give to you."
Nathan Leafcastle frowned slightly, then gave the address of a restaurant.
After hanging up, he put the phone in his pocket, walked around the table, sat down in a chair, and fell into deep thought.
The door was gently knocked, and Sally Dalton walked in with a smile, placing a glass of water on his desk.
"Have a drink of water, and take a rest for a while. I’ll call you during lunch."
"With whom?"
"Of course, with Dad and... those board mbers of the company." Sally Dalton walked around the table, reached out, and held his shoulder, "Are you still mad at Dad?"
"No." Nathan Leafcastle smiled faintly, "But I have an appointnt at noon with a high municipal officer regarding the Jade River project."
"Is that so?" Sally Dalton frowned, "It’s okay, you go, I’ll take care of Dad here."
The Jade River project is a major city project. Recently, Barker has been working hard to win this project.
Getting a lunch appointnt with a high-ranking official involved in the project is very rare, so Sally Dalton certainly couldn’t let him cancel it.
Raising his hand to cover hers, Nathan Leafcastle leaned his head against her arm.
"Sally, except for my mom, you’re the best woman to in the world. I... will never let you down. Once I get through this period, we’ll go out and have so fun."
Sally Dalton raised her lips, lifted her hand to gently embrace his hand, and patted his short hair.
"Take care of yourself; that’s more important than anything. Don’t overwork yourself. I’ll go and make the arrangents, and you take a break in the lounge."
Tilting her face, she gently kissed his hair before turning and walking to the door.
"I’ll go with you, see Dad and them off!"
Nathan Leafcastle got up and followed her.
The two walked into the reception room together, and Sally Dalton walked to her father’s side to gently hold his shoulder, smilingly glancing at everyone.
"Uncles and elder uncles, I know you rarely visit Nicosa, so I specially arranged a place this ti, and the food is absolutely delicious. It’s almost ti, why don’t we... go there now? The scenery is pretty nice there, so everyone can relax a bit before eating. How about it?"
Everyone agreed and got up to leave.
Nathan Leafcastle ca over, "Uncle Bernardy, I still have to et a high municipal officer later; it was a previously arranged al, and I really can’t get out of it. I hope you won’t be upset?"
Bernardy Dalton smiled, "Work is important, why would I be upset?"
"To be honest, Chairman is really fortunate to have such a capable daughter and such a talented son-in-law. Barker will definitely reach greater heights in the future."
"Exactly!"
...
Several board mbers also praised Sally Dalton and Nathan Leafcastle, and everyone chatted and laughed as they walked into the elevator, with Bernardy Dalton’s expression becoming much more relaxed from listening to their words.
"Not at all, Barker still needs everyone’s support!"
Unknowingly, they had already walked into the elevator, and Sally Dalton stopped Nathan Leafcastle.
"You were busy all night yesterday, so no need to see us off; I’ve got it! Go and have a good rest, and don’t you have a lunch appointnt?!"
Bernardy Dalton echoed, "Yes, Nathan, take a good rest, no need to be so courteous!"
Nathan Leafcastle did not insist, "Sally, then please take care of Uncle and everyone; I hope you all have a pleasant visit."
