With her in his arms, he walked towards the door with a smile.

"I’ve already called Mrs. Feng. I told them not to wait for us. Is there anything specific you would like to eat? I can have Mrs. Zhang make it for you."

"Anything goes." Vera clung to his arm. "I’m not picky."

The two laughed and chatted as they entered the elevator. During their descent, Vera’s phone rang.

The call was from a television reporter she knew, who wanted to interview her about Irene Spencer’s situation.

"I apologize, but I’m very busy lately and can’t accept interviews." After declining the offer, Vera leaned her head on Kris Cooper’s arm. "How are things looking now?"

"I called Detective Liu. He said they’re still investigating," Kris shrugged. "Relax. This ti around, there’s no way for Irene to walk free. Any one of her charges could ruin her."

Vera nodded gently, saying no more.

She actually wanted to ask about Nathan Leafcastle, but she swallowed the words just as they reached her lips. She was truly a bit scared of hearing the result she feared.

Kris glanced at her, noticing her hesitation, and decided not to press the matter further.

Right now, things weren’t entirely clear. Talking about it would only add unnecessary psychological stress to her.

"Honey, what should we na our baby?"

"We still don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl. I have no clue how to choose."

"How about we pick a gender-neutral nickna first, and then we’ll think carefully about the full na later?"

"Sounds good. What do you think would sound nice?"

Kris thought for a mont.

"What about... Roro?"

"As in...wood?"

"Exactly!" Kris patted her shoulder. "You see, both our nas have ’wood’ in them. This just goes to show that they’re a product of both of us."

"Egomaniac!" Vera teased, with a smile.

"Hey, just calling it as it is!" Kris laughed. "If their dad is a big tree, then the kid is a little tree. Doesn’t it make sense to call them Roro?"

"If I rember correctly, weren’t you referred to as Shelina?" Vera teased.

"That was long ago. Shelina has grown into a big tree!" Kris responded with a suggestive smirk. "Otherwise, would I have been able to plant a seed in you?"

With that, she hit him on the arm.

"Cheeky."

Despite the banter, ’Roro’ was actually quite a good na. Its aning of ’lush forest’ was very fitting. Pondering it over, the na did sound quite pleasant.

"Then...I’ll be calling him Roro!"

"Good," Kris said, leading her from the elevator. "Our eldest will be Roro, our second Lynn, and our third Lunant... That way, before long, our ho will be a thriving forest."

"And the fourth?"

"Fire."

"Fire?"

"Yeah, the Five Elents: tal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth. We’ll have children representing all of them!"

"Go away, I’m not a sow."

Laughing and chatting, the two got in the car. A mont later, the car left the parking lot, heading for the old Cooper family house.

「At night, on the other side of the city.」

Nathan Leafcastle stood on the terrace of his study, his face clouded with worry.

Despite his outward calm, he was sowhat worried. Irene Spencer was a very formidable woman. He had considered every possible scenario, and although he was convinced he hadn’t left any leverage in her hands, he still couldn’t help but feel unsettled.

Good night to you, my little princesses.
