After a long silence, Nathan Leafcastle spoke softly, "I was thinking about inviting Vera and them to dinner one of these days, what do you think?"
Sally Dalton lifted her face, "What do you an?!"
"These past few days, I’ve been thinking, maybe what happened to Mom was really just an accident." The man’s voice was filled with desolation, "Now, besides you, Vera is the only family I have. I really don’t want to lose her too. Can you... can you understand how I feel?"
Sally Dalton nodded gently, "I’ll think of a way."

The next morning at Ashton Planning Departnt.
Vera Wave finished her eting and walked back from the conference room with Archie Perkin and a few others. As soon as she reached the office, rlin Bradley ca up to them.
"Manager Vera, soone is here to see you." rlin Bradley’s expression was a bit odd, "Do you want to call security?"
"Who is it?" Vera asked in confusion.
"It’s Chairman Barker’s daughter... Sally Dalton," rlin Bradley said.
Mary imdiately raised an eyebrow, "Why call security? I’ll go. Who cares if she’s the chairman’s daughter, I’ll tear her apart right now."
Everyone knew about the identities of Sally Dalton and Nathan Leafcastle, and knowing she was here, they expected no good news.
"Mary!" Vera grabbed the eager Mary, "You guys go about your business, I’ll go in and take a look."
"Manager, is everything really alright?" Archie Perkin asked softly from the side.
"It’s fine." Comforting everyone with a smile, Vera walked into the reception room.
Inside the reception room, sure enough, Sally Dalton was sitting there. Knowing her identity, even rlin Bradley didn’t bother to make her tea, only poured her a glass of plain water.
Vera’s gaze swept over the water glass on the table, she shook her head lightly and walked in with a smile, "Miss Dalton, long ti no see."
Sally Dalton stood up and smiled at her, "I hope I’m not disturbing your work?"
"Not at all," Vera signaled for her to sit down, and she sat across from her, "Miss Dalton is a busy person, coming to see so early, there must be sothing important, right?"
"I know coming like this is quite abrupt," Sally Dalton took a deep breath, "Actually, I’m here on behalf of Nathan. We want to invite you and Mr. Kris Cooper for dinner."
Dinner?
Nathan Leafcastle inviting her and Kris Cooper?!
Vera couldn’t hide her shock, "This... I an... this..."
"I know, you must feel this is very sudden, given all that’s happened." Sally Dalton stood up and moved to sit beside her, reaching over to grasp her hand, "Vera, I know you’re a good girl, I’ve never truly believed you would do sothing to Aunt Zhou, I believe it was an accident.
