Kris Cooper was holding a bowl of porridge, and when he saw her sit down across from him, he hesitated for a mont but eventually spoke up.
"Vera, there’s sothing I need to tell you."
She picked up a bun and stuffed it into his mouth, "Finish your al first."
He continued eating, not speaking until he had finished stuffing several small buns into his stomach, with not a grain of rice left in the bowl.
"It’s about... Nathan Leafcastle."
"Brother Nathan?"
"There’s sothing off about him. He doesn’t really want to make peace with us, so... to be cautious, I’ve made so preparations."
Vera didn’t look too surprised; Kris Cooper had already ntioned this to her before.
She understood his perspective as his personality was always like this.

"Intuition."

Vera found it both amusing and exasperating.
"Childish!"

What could she say? She just rolled her eyes at him, sighed helplessly, and got up from her chair.
Kris Cooper called out behind her, "Honey, you’re not allowed to comfort the enemy army, or I will be consud with jealousy!"
She paused and turned back, "I’m going to get soone so water, so his sea of jealousy doesn’t beco a small vinegar jar, and at the sa ti help soone break down the remaining 35% of the alcohol!"
She left the study room to get water, and Kris Cooper laughed out loud inside the study.

The assistant stared incredulously at Nathan Leafcastle at the desk.
"Mr. Leafcastle, are you... are you mistaken? The Jade River project, Ashton is our biggest competitor, and you... you still want to send this information to Kris Cooper?"
Nathan Leafcastle didn’t even look up, "Give him a peach, and he will return it with a plum. This is a debt I owe him."
