Kris Cooper frowned and turned his head, about to lose his temper, when the assistant rushed in front of him.
"Pre...President, Ms. Vera...Vera...sothing...happened...to her..."
Upon hearing this, the anger on Kris Cooper’s face imdiately turned into tension, and he quickly pushed back his chair to stand up.
"What happened?"
The assistant was already out of breath and simply handed the folder she was holding over to him.
"Ms. Vera wrote..."
Before she could finish, Kris Cooper had already snatched the folder from her hand. Seeing the familiar handwriting on it, his heart tightened suddenly.
Pushing the chair away, he handed the folder to Tommy Taylor and took large strides toward the door.
"Call Officer Freenan imdiately and tell him to dispatch at once!"
Tommy Taylor jogged after him, as Kris Cooper strode quickly toward the office.
Following him out, Tommy Taylor imdiately dialed Michael Freenan’s number.
"Officer Freenan, it’s Tommy Taylor!"
By then, Kris Cooper had already rushed into the office, grabbed his phone from the desk, and hugged his computer to his chest.
Since he was in a eting, he hadn’t had his phone with him, and there were already several missed calls on the screen, all from people he had arranged to follow Irene Spencer.
Grasping the car keys and phone, Kris Cooper turned and dashed out, redialing one of the calls while eting up with Tommy Taylor, heading together towards the elevator.
"I’ve already inford Officer Freenan, he said he’ll bring his n over to et us right away!"
As the two rushed into the elevator, the call Kris Cooper made connected.
"What’s going on?"
"I’ve been following Irene Spencer all morning, then encountered a fender bender and lost track."
"You might as well have crashed completely!" Kris Cooper cursed angrily, hanging up imdiately and dialing another number, "What’s happening on Nathan Leafcastle’s side?"
Fortunately, nothing had gone wrong here; they imdiately reported Nathan Leafcastle’s location to him.
"He was waiting around the fifth ring earlier, and Ms. Vera just showed up and got in his car, now they’re heading towards the outskirts."
Kris Cooper breathed a slight sigh of relief, and when the elevator doors parted, he imdiately dashed towards his car, with Tommy Taylor also speeding up to catch up.
"Keep an eye on him, be careful not to be detected, we’ll be there shortly."
"Okay."
A mont later, the sports car roared out of Ashton Building.

A black rcedes-Benz drove into a residential area and stopped outside a solitary villa near a lake.
Nathan Leafcastle got out, walking over to open the car door for a stern-faced Vera Wave.
"Get out first!"
Vera Wave turned sideways, avoiding his support, and climbed out from the other side of the car.
Nathan Leafcastle glanced at her deanor, pursed his lips, and walked forward to unlock the door, Vera followed him into the living room, where Nathan Leafcastle stopped.
"Sit for a while. Do you...want so water?"
"Yes."
Vera Wave replied with a single word.
Nathan Leafcastle was slightly surprised, expecting her to ignore him.
"Alright, just wait a mont!"
He turned and walked into the kitchen, grabbing a cup to pour water for her. anwhile, Vera glanced quickly around, noticing the fruit knife on the coffee table. She cautiously checked the direction of the kitchen and stealthily slipped the fruit knife into her pocket.
Nathan Leafcastle ca out with the water cup, and she imdiately put her hands in place, feigning a nonchalant posture.
