Feeling a gentle hand on her palm, Vera Wave was montarily dazed and subconsciously called out, "Dad."
When she turned her face, she t Kris Cooper’s concerned gaze.
"M-Mr. CEO!" Panicked, she stood up. "You’re back. I’m sorry, I... I just ca over to take a look."
"You’re free to move around in this office from now on." Kris Cooper glanced at the fish food in her hand. "These fish are now your responsibility!"
He knew without a doubt that this office held her fond mories with her father. He suddenly realized his impromptu decision seed like a good idea.
"Okay!" Vera nodded imdiately.
These fish held so many mories; they were also sothing her father had left behind. Being able to look after them would be a great comfort to her.
"It’s too late today. Tomorrow, I’ll have Tommy Taylor prepare a desk and chair for you."
"Huh?!" Vera snapped back to her senses, instantly regretting her blunder.
She had been all prepared to voice her concerns as soon as he returned, explaining that she might disturb his work and requesting to move to an outside office. Why did she just agree without hesitation?!
"Mr. CEO, I think staying in this room will definitely affect your work. I can actually work in the outer office; that way, you’ll have ample private space. Besides, these fish don’t need to be fed every day..." Vera tried hard to conceal her true intentions, putting on an innocent and harmless smile. "So, perhaps I should work outside instead?"
"You are my personal assistant. You need to be by my side at all tis to provide all necessary services!" Kris Cooper put his hands into his trouser pockets, looking down at her bright, dark eyes. "Rember, personal assistants are well compensated, but the expectations for the job are also high. Therefore, your working hours are no longer from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., but round-the-clock, on call 24/7! When I’m working, you must be in the office. If I haven’t left work, you cannot leave! You must be wherever I am. Understand?"
On call 24/7? It’s not like she’d sold herself to him, right? Who in the world sets such tyrannical terms?
"On what grounds? I’m not your wife!"
If the company could create such a position, he would absolutely make her take it imdiately.
"If you’re not satisfied with the new position, you can resign..." Kris Cooper raised an eyebrow. "As I recall, your contract termination penalty is..."
When the figure 300,000 popped into her head, Vera instantly realized that resigning was absolutely not an option.
"Oh, Mr. CEO, listen to you! Why on earth would I resign from such a wonderful position I couldn’t even dream of getting?" Vera imdiately bead. "I was just joking with you. Rest assured, from now on, I’ll be like your shadow, always by your side. You must be thirsty after such a long eting. Shall I get you a glass of water?"
"There are oranges in the fridge. Juice enough for two glasses."
He rembered she liked to drink that, just like him.
"Okay, coming right up!"
She quickly trotted into the small kitchen, took the oranges from the fridge, and washed them. Reflecting on her current situation, she couldn’t help but pout.
Holding the washed oranges, Vera walked to the doorway. While peeling them with a paring knife, she discreetly glanced at Kris Cooper, who was engrossed in a docunt.
He’d suddenly transferred her here to be his personal assistant for no apparent reason, and even said she had to be wherever he was. Could this guy actually be...
Really trying to hit on her?
