He unleashed his strength, kicked the door repeatedly, and the part connected to the lock cracked. Taking a few steps back, Kris Cooper threw himself against the door.
The wooden door burst open with a bang, and he stumbled inside due to inertia.
The Property Manager hurriedly took out his phone, turned on the flashlight, walked over, and found the switch to turn on the light.
The light illuminated the elderly figure crouched in the corner of the wall; her hair was a bit ssy, her face pale, and there was a clear look of terror in her eyes.
"Grandma!"
Kris Cooper quickly got up from the floor, rushed over to support the elderly lady’s shoulders, and looked her over with concern, "How are you? Are you scared?!"
Grandma Wave squinted her eyes, and once she adjusted to the light and saw it was him, she imdiately grasped his arm with tension.
"Kris, why didn’t any of you co? That woman said she was going to starve ... Grandma is so scared... I shouted and scread, but no one paid attention to ..."
"It’s alright, Grandma!" Kris Cooper held the frightened elderly lady affectionately into his arms, "It’s alright now, we just... accidentally lost the keys. I’m sorry, Grandma, I’m sorry."
Grandma Wave gradually cald down, a forgiving smile appeared at the corners of her lips, "It’s alright, Grandma knows you’re all busy, especially Vera. Ever since that illness, her mind hasn’t been working well, she often forgets things. It must be that girl who lost the keys again..."
"It wasn’t her, it was !" Kris Cooper walked out with the elderly lady, "Let’s go, we’ll head ho now!"
The Property Manager also hurried over to support one of the elderly lady’s arms.
Together, they helped the elderly lady to the car, and Kris Cooper hastily took out a bottle of water, opened it, and brought it to her.
"Have so water first, I’ll find sothing for you to eat... Take it slow, sip it."
After helping Grandma Wave take a few sips of water, he rummaged through the car, found a small pack of cookies, and handed it to her.
While Grandma Wave was eating, he checked her over to ensure there were no signs of injury, then heaved a sigh of relief, took out his phone, called Lucille Matthias, and inford her of the situation.
"I’ll take the elderly lady back to rest first."
"Alright, we’re on our way."
After hanging up, Kris Cooper fastened the seatbelt for Grandma Wave and instructed the Property Manager to stay and wait for Lucille and the others. He then started the car and drove back to the old hostead.
...
...
On the bed, Vera Wave frowned, her face full of pain.
A hand reached over, gently holding her shoulder.
"Vera! Vera, wake up!"
Vera Wave jolted awake from her nightmare, opened her eyes, and saw Edgar Hols standing by the door, prompting her to hastily sit upright.
"Grandpa?!"
Just waking from the nightmare, her mind was still a bit dazed.
"Don’t be afraid, you had a nightmare, right?" Henry Cooper comforted her, gently holding her shoulder, "Don’t worry, Grandma has been found."
"Really?!" Vera Wave exclaid in disbelief, "Where is she?!"
"Would Grandpa lie to you? Kris just called, said Grandma is fine, not injured at all. They are on their way back!" Henry Cooper answered with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Vera Wave happily threw off her blanket, got out of bed, and was about to rush to the door.
"Vera!" Henry Cooper reached out to stop her, "Don’t rush, they are still on the road, it’ll take at least another ten or twenty minutes! Put your shoes on first, it’s not too late!"
