Five days later, as a blood-red setting sun struggled to sink below the distant horizon, they finally reached Jie Ming’s chosen safe zone—a vast, relatively flat plain bordered by rugged mountains.
Signs of intelligent life were scarce here, and the air carried the scent of dust and earth.
“Finally… we made it,” Amy said, slumping onto the ground after using Alchemy Technique to create a wind-blocking rock wall. She let out a long sigh, her tired face showing a trace of relief. “It’s so quiet here.”
Victor also relaxed, leaning against a withered tree trunk and closing his eyes to regulate his breathing.
