Chapter 140: Chapter 136 Confrontation at the Royal Palace Evening Party (4k)_2

However, there was no problem with Lis taking Mora along this ti; it was also a good opportunity for Mora to expand her social connections.

“Alright, alright, at the big boss’s request, I’ll go now.”

Smiling, Mora took a glass of wine from a servant nearby and walked toward the group of conversing people not far away.

“You go, look how handso he is.”

“I’m already betrothed, why don’t you go? I see you’re blushing; are you shy, girl?”

“Oh, Mitra sister, stop teasing , please ask for first!”

...

“Whose family is this person from? I don’t have any impression of them at all.”

“The one who was standing with him just now was the second son of the Carl family, isn’t it?”

“Who is it, don’t speak in riddles!”

“The one from the Kane family, the Family Head who seldom attends banquets.”

“I think I have an impression now, that family…”

“Don’t talk nonsense!”

The companion hurriedly stopped him from continuing and cautioned,

“Don’t you know he was taken in as an apprentice by the ‘Judgent Fla?’ You’re still talking recklessly here.”

“Really? Thanks a lot!”

Visibly relieved, the person nodded, realizing they had said the wrong thing and hoping that no one else had overheard.

Carefully looking around, they noticed Lis holding a wine glass and looking at them, they felt a chill in their heart, quickly lowered their head, and hurredly left with their companion.

Lis, feeling sowhat helpless, withdrew his gaze. His agility attribute had increased, and not only his movent and action speed but it seed his perception had beco much sharper too.

He had heard the exchanges of the people around him quite clearly.

Just as Lis wondered whether he should find a new place to kill so ti before the King’s arrival,

suddenly, the chatter around surged, and a blond man with a handso face approached Lis.

The Second Prince of the Feis Kingdom, Yatean Fis!

Is this… is he looking for ?

Lis watched the approaching Second Prince with curiosity; it was the first ti after his rebirth that he had contact with His Royal Highness the Prince.

“Viscount Lis Kain?”

Yatean stopped in front of Lis, squeezing a hint of a smile on his usually serious face.

“Yes, I am honored to et you, Prince Yatean.”

Lis replied, his eyes looking directly into Yatean’s without any gesture of a bow.

Yatean didn’t mind Lis’s sowhat disrespectful behavior, or rather, the significance of this situation added to the unease in his heart.

“This is the first ti I et Viscount Lis, truly worthy of being an apprentice to the great ‘Judgent Fla,’ indeed outstanding.”

Yatean complinted, and though he was the Second Prince, he was already in his thirties, so praising Lis in such a manner didn’t seem out of place to onlookers.

“Thanks to my teacher’s favor, I have had the opportunity to learn from him.”

Lis replied indifferently; he was rather interested in what dicine Prince Yatean was peddling in his gourd.

Nobles nearby, having overheard the Prince publicly announcing Lis had been taken as an apprentice by the Legendary Mage and Lis openly confirming it, were shockingly surprised.

There had been rumors before, but now with the confirmation from the person involved, there could be no mistake.

The Kane family was set to soar to the heavens!

Everyone turned envious glances toward Lis, with so even evaluating their daughters as potential matches.

Yatean and Lis paid no attention to the reactions of those around them, as Yatean continued,

“It is all due to Viscount Lis’s excellence, Lord Stephens is known to be very selective.”

“Hmm.”

Lis simply responded and offered no further reply.

This reaction from Lis nearly threw Yatean off, but after taking a deep breath, he said,

“I wonder if I could have the honor of a private gathering with you after the banquet.”

“I’m sorry, I have other matters later.”

Lis bluntly refused without giving face, a hint of amusent in his eyes, as he roughly guessed what His Highness the Second Prince was up to.

Thinking of negotiating peace?

Lis could only say that Prince Yatean was thinking too much—he was not soone who could just let bygones be bygones with a smile.

“`

Regretted it, what had he done earlier?

Yatean couldn’t help but swallow the rest of his words as Lis’s nasty attitude seed to foreshadow sothing.

Logically, even though Lis had been taken as a disciple by the Legendary Mage, he should not treat a prince of the Kingdom with such an attitude, especially since he was not yet the Legendary Mage himself!

It seed that Lis already knew sothing, perhaps from Camus?

There was no ti to think it through, Yatean already knew he was in trouble.

If it were rely knowledge of his surreptitious probing, that would be one thing, but if Lis knew more of the plan, then it was problematic.

The chance to effectively silence him from the root had slipped away, Yatean took a deep breath and tried one last effort, speaking earnestly:

“I don’t know if there has been so misunderstanding between you and before, but I assure you this was not my intention.”

“If possible, I am willing to pay a certain price to obtain your forgiveness?”

Lis found it sowhat boring. If this was all, there was really no need to continue the conversation.

Although Lis hadn’t intended to pursue it further, he shook his head and said:

“There’s no misunderstanding, I have admired the Second Prince for a long ti.”

Just as the Second Prince was about to say sothing else, Duke Hade walked over.

Fusis did not give Yatean a gracious look but directly addressed Lis:

“Viscount Kane, let’s go, His Majesty is waiting for you.”

Upon seeing the Court Nobles’ leader Duke Hade, the sowhat noisy crowd around them quieted down instantly, their gazes fixed tightly on Lis and Yatean.

They seed to sense that sothing was amiss. Did the up-and-coming Viscount Kane have a feud with the Second Prince?

Lis nodded to Duke Hade in a greeting, preparing to leave with him.

Before leaving, Lis seed to suddenly rember sothing and turned his head to Yatean:

“Goodbye, Prince Yatean, I wish you every success.”

Yatean watched Lis’s departing figure, his deanor finally bereft of previous composure, Lis’s seemingly smiling but non-smiling face, and his aningful words gave Yatean an ominous premonition.

Shaking his head, Yatean forcefully suppressed the thought and turned to chat with the surrounding Nobles with a smile.

At this point, further talk was useless; all the plans were in place, and there was no chance for regret.

Yatean steadied his mind as well, since making that decision, he naturally had the resolve to face any outco.

Lis didn’t take Yatean to heart, following Duke Hade into a reception room beside the banquet hall where the King, dressed in splendid attire, was already waiting on the sofa.

“Lis has arrived, have a seat!”

King Morton, seeing the two co in, said with a smile.

Lis, after showing the proper respects, sat down on the sofa nearby.

“I’ve heard Mr. Fran took you as his disciple, congratulations!”

King Morton’s tone was significantly warr than the last ti he had seen Lis, as cordial as if he were an elder to Lis.

“Thank you for your concern, Your Majesty, I have been studying with my teacher during this ti.”

Lis spoke with impeccable politeness. It seed the Kingdom was unaware that Mr. Stephens had also taken Risa as a disciple.

But then again, Risa had left the academy for so ti now, and her identity card should already have been archived.

Morton grew increasingly pleased with Lis, being taken as a disciple by the ‘Judgent Fla’ ant that there was a chance to beco a Legend in the future. Such talent was a must for the Kingdom to secure.

“Has our Little Lis set his heart on soone yet?”

Duke Hade suddenly interjected, Morton looked on with a smile, not stopping Fusis’s inquiry.

Hm?

Lis looked up at the two, what were they getting at?

“Not at the mont.”

Fusis glanced at Morton and continued:

“You are nearly twenty years old, Lis, it’s ti for you to start a family.”

“As the head of the Court Nobles, do I need to introduce you to soone?”

Whoa, is the map of Yan Country this short?

Lis was sowhat surprised; he expected the Kingdom to do sothing to woo him but had not anticipated this move.

Just as Lis was considering how to refuse, Morton spoke up.

“There’s no need to be euphemistic, Fusis.”

“Little Lis, what do you think of my daughter Taya?”
