Chapter 575: Chapter 400: Really Encountered the Elf Slave Catching Team Chapter 575: Chapter 400: Really Encountered the Elf Slave Catching Team Elf Forest,

“A mistake?”

Erza watched the standing Lis before her with utmost wariness, his relaxed deanor suggesting that their attack had not posed any threat to him whatsoever.

Lis made no move, but instead spread his hands and sheathed the longsword he had been holding.

“If I were part of a Slave Capturing Team, why would Cecil possibly help ?”

Lis pointed to Cecil who was standing behind him, clutching her magic wand with a sowhat dazed expression, and spoke to Erza.

“Oh… Oh!”

Cecil, upon hearing what Lis had said, snapped to her senses and quickly nodded her head, saying,

“That’s correct, Mr. Lis is my escort, not part of any Slave Capturing Team.”

...

As she spoke, Cecil also glanced at Lis.

She truly hadn’t expected Lis to be so domineering in the face of the Elf Guard.

In just a mont of conflict, mbers of the Elf Guard, who were considered elite among the elves, were powerless against Lis—and he had even held back.

Even though Lis was a Gold Level powerhouse, his kinsn shouldn’t have been so thoroughly overpowered, should they?

“This…”

Erza looked at Lis and Cecil, unable to determine the truth in such a short ti.

However, a part of her believed them.

If this young man nad Lis were truly from a Slave Capturing Team, there would be no reason for him to stop attacking and talk things out at a leisurely pace.

After all, they had no power left to resist.

Still, Erza wasn’t about to take Lis at his word—after all, who knew if he had other motives?

Erza didn’t respond, but instead retreated cautiously, pulling up Pedros, who was enveloped by the tree canopy and in a state of unconsciousness, and retreated toward the distance.

Martial Monk Gardley had fainted at Lis’s feet, with no thought from Erza to approach Lis to help her companion.

Lis watched Erza’s careful movents, sowhat speechless.

Why did he feel like he had beco the big villain?

Sensing that another presence had locked onto him from afar, Lis frowned and looked at a lush large tree in the distance.

Was it that sa Elf Ranger from before?

This wasn’t over?

Lis controlled the terrifying killing intent within him and allowed it to creep towards the direction he had pinpointed.

Noticing the hostile aura disappear instantly, Lis nodded in satisfaction and turned to Cecil:

“Let’s go, there’s nothing more to do here.”

“Should I heal them a bit?”

Cecil hesitated, looking at the bald own kind lying on the ground.

“No need, I hardly exerted any strength; they just fainted and will recover shortly,” Lis replied nonchalantly, as he picked up Gardley from the ground and placed him onto a nearby tree stump to watch over him.

“Okay then,” Cecil conceded, feeling that there really was no need, and then followed Lis away.

After a short while,

a slender figure appeared beside Gardley, squatting down to check on him.

Observing the surroundings carefully, Erza spoke to soone not far away:

“Co out, that person has indeed left.”

“Gardley isn’t seriously hurt either.”

As her voice faded away, another figure carrying the Elf Warrior jumped down from the tree.

Erza laid Pedros next to Gardley, breathing in short gasps:

“Huff… he really left, could we have been mistaken?”

As an Elf Ranger, Erza wasn’t very strong; thankfully, Pedros being an Elf Warrior, wasn’t too heavy. Otherwise, she really couldn’t have managed to move him by herself.

“We must have been mistaken,” Erza nodded, her complexion not looking too well.

“I was keeping an eye on that blond elf, and her expression seed normal; she probably wasn’t controlled by any Confusion Control System spell.”

“Sigh… This makes it difficult,” Erza expressed with a hint of bitter smile, her right hand covering her clean forehead.

“It’s done; I’ve already notified Lord Baldivia.”

“You’re not to bla. If it were , I would have made the sa choice to notify Lord Baldivia,” Erza comforted her companion,

“After all, that human’s strength was rather unnatural.”

“I’m starting to doubt whether my martial arts were a waste of ti to learn, completely useless.”

“Let’s wait and see, though I wonder where that person intends to take the elf?”

Erza sat on the ground, hands spread open, propping herself up and sighed,

“The only good news might be that the person doesn’t seem to bear us any hostility.”

“I really don’t want to encounter that person again while we’re chasing down those revolting Slave Hunting Teams.”

Recalling the look Lis had given them when he left, as well as that chilling, terrifying killing intent, Erza couldn’t help but shiver.

Two days later, in the Elf Forest’s Akar River Valley,

The clear stream, like a silver ribbon, squird its way through the deep valley. The babbling of the water was like the sound of nature itself, refreshing the mind and soul.

The woods on both sides were dense and thriving. Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, casting mottled shadows that added a sense of mystery and vitality to this tranquil valley.

The air in the valley was exceptionally fresh, tinged with the fragrance of soil and vegetation, compelling one to take a deep breath as if to cleanse the dust from within. In this peaceful and beautiful valley, it seed as though ti itself had slowed down, intoxicating those present with a desire to linger forever.

This was deep within the Elf Forest, rarely traced by humans, and even elves seldom passed through here.

But today, the quietude of the valley was disturbed; the arrival of uninvited guests brought a new unease.
