Chapter 591: Chapter 405: Part of the Abyss Prince’s Plan?_3

Stealth, backstabbing, kidney strike, and even the Shadow Raid skill, were all successfully countered by the opponent, forcing him to use many of his life-saving skills in the subsequent attacks.

Watching how effortlessly the opponent handled it all made Sinker recall the tis when his ntor taught him assassin combat techniques.

It was rather unbelievable!

Was that young man really a Gold-level Warrior?

Sinker sowhat regretted not retreating right away; this was the first ti he encountered a situation where a warrior controlled the entire combat scenario like this.

At that mont, Sinker had already started considering a strategic retreat.

Although he really wanted to complete the mission, he had beco aware of the situation now.

With Lis’s protection, it was certain that he could not kill that elf this ti.

But no matter, after all, he was an assassin—a setback like this was not a big deal.

He didn’t believe Lis could protect the elf unceasingly, every step of the way.

Thinking this, Sinker prepared to leave.

Just then, he was overwheld by a terrifying sense of impending death, causing all the hairs on his body to stand on end instantaneously.

Before he could react, Sinker instinctively dove forward, not caring about the damp soil of the forest floor, and he flattened himself on the ground.

Boom!

A huge booming noise erupted, and the shaking of the trees spread like a circular wave throughout the Elf Forest, causing the wild animals in the forest to scatter and flee.

Sinker, who was in the epicenter, was dazed and absent-mindedly looked backward.

There he saw Lis, holding a terrifyingly huge hamr, looking at him with a not-quite-smiling expression.

The big tree he had been near had vanished without a trace, leaving only a light brown stump on the ground and wooden fragnts fluttering mid-air.

Sinker snapped back to reality and quickly got up, warily watching Lis.

He certainly did not want to be hamred like that; he didn’t think his fate would be any better than that of the big tree.

Lis did not continue the pursuit; he had only made a move to shock him when he sensed that Sinker had thought about fleeing.

“Speak, why are you attacking us?”

Lis played with the hamr in his hands, smiling as he looked at Sinker.

The hamr, which had been sowhat cumberso to use when he upgraded to Gold-level, was now quite easy and smooth to handle.

The imnse shock brought by the high Strength Attribute was always the most direct.

Sinker glanced at the hamr in Lis’s hand, bouncing up and down, almost one ter in diater, and involuntarily swallowed.

What kind of freak was this?

Looking at the cold gleam of the hamr, it was definitely not made of ordinary refined iron.

How did I co across this guy?

After hesitating for a mont, Sinker said:

“Don’t get wrong, I accepted a mission from the Assassin Guild to assassinate that elf.”

“I truly didn’t expect a powerful person like you to be guarding. This ti I was wrong, and I am willing to pay a price to express my apology.”

Hearing Sinker’s words, Lis looked at him with a not-quite-smiling expression and said:

“Assassin Guild, who are you trying to fool?”

The Assassin Guild, like the rcenary Guild, could accept commissions from others and distribute missions, but due to the nature of the profession, it generally involved assassination tasks.

Therefore, the Assassin Guild was not permitted in many places by city rulers and operated in a grey area.

Normally, indeed, many assassins took commissions and tasks from the guild, but it depended on the situation.

In order to reach the Bolin Kingdom as soon as possible and avoid possible attacks, Cecil chose to take a shortcut through the Elf Forest, and their pace was quite fast without any delays.

And honestly, though it was a shortcut, it was not a specific path but just moving in a general direction through the Elf Forest.

Given this situation, the assassin would not possibly be able to catch up from behind.

Otherwise, Lis would have already noticed him.

Lis felt the most likely scenario was that the other party had a special item capable of locating Cecil’s position.

Like an item for tracking Day Elf Bloodline, if the target was indeed the Day Elf Bloodline, that would be very likely.

“Tell , who sent you?”

Lis looked at Sinker as if he were rely observing a bronze professional.

“Of course, it’s…”

Sinker looked at Lis with a resigned expression.

Before the words fell, a black and crimson stream of evil energy suddenly erupted from Sinker’s body, wrapping around him and greatly increasing his speed as he abruptly dashed deep into Elf Forest.

“Oh?”

Seeing this, Lis felt joy rather than surprise.

He was familiar with this kind of aura; he had felt a similar one in Ice Peak City.

The aura of the Endless Abyss, and it was very similar to Demogorgon.

Indeed, the destruction of the Elf Royal Court was related to Cecil!

Having his suspicions confird, Lis still didn’t plan to let Sinker go.

It would be good to weaken the enemy’s strength in advance, but more importantly, he must prevent the opponent from taking back any information about him and Cecil.

Lis dashed after him, moving much faster than Sinker, who was desperately using Demon Power.

Lis didn’t plan to use a Spell just yet; he intended to keep his strength in this aspect hidden as his ace, leaving so room for maneuver.

Before getting deeply involved in the affairs of the Elf Royal Court, he likely wouldn’t face a Legendary being, so Lis’s approach might yield an unexpected effect.

How could this be possible?

Feeling the rapidly approaching pressure from behind, Sinker looked back incredulously.

He had been shocked many tis today already.

Lis decided not to hold back any longer. Now that he had confird the other was a subordinate of Demogorgon, there was no need to extract information from him.

Dealing with any other Abyss Lords might have been easy since those self-absorbed chaotic ones couldn’t always control their subordinates.

And in fact, many had specifically tricked power out of those Abyss Demon Lords.

But Demogorgon was different; he was deep-thinking, more cunning and sly than the devils of Hell.

In his previous life, many people, powers, and even deities had suffered at his hands.

Lis had no confidence in provoking Demogorgon, better to quietly amass wealth.

Once again appearing in Lis’s vision, Sinker seed entirely transford.

The Shadow Power that had surrounded him was now replaced by a wildly corrupt Aura of the Abyss, with thick veins prominently visible on his face and skin, and pitch-black power flowing beneath.

His eyes were blood-red, and his fra had swelled slightly, emitting evil, filthy currents of Abyssal Aura all around.

Tsk tsk tsk, that’s truly ugly!

Lis shook his head and, wielding his hamr, charged forward.

The terrifying sound of the wind breaking echoed as the hamr forcefully smashed toward Sinker.

Bang!

Sinker only had ti to block with his arms but was still sent flying by Lis’s hamr, crashing into the forest.

Lis shook the hamr in his hands and nodded.

Really, the feel of it was quite nice.

“Roaaaaaar!”

A monster-like roar rang out as Sinker’s figure appeared again before Lis.

Now, he seed completely eroded by Abyss Power, having lost most of his sanity,

but Sinker’s current situation wasn’t good; his arms had completely disappeared, leaving only twisting flesh and stark white bone stubs.

The Abyss Aura around Sinker kept twisting, starting to repair and restore his arms, but it was not very fast.

Moreover, Sinker’s black and crimson skin seed to be lting, like a snowman lting under the sun.

Lis was clear on this, as the Gaia World had always been repulsive towards the Aura and Power of the Abyss.

Without an Abyss Gate providing enough Abyss Aura, using Demon Power would cause the body to collapse.

This was also why Abyss Demons, after invading through the Abyss Gate, would decrease their attacks if they couldn’t resupply, conserving their strength.

If this situation with Sinker dragged on without accessing this state, his body would collapse due to erosion from Abyss Power, leading to death.

However, Lis didn’t find it too troubleso; even with Abyss Power enhancent, a Gold-level Assassin was no real trouble for him.

Lis swung his hamr and walked towards the blood-eyed Sinker.

Soon, the creepy roar in the forest stopped, and no other strange sounds could be heard.

Lis looked at the Gold-level Assassin who had now turned into a pool of bloodied mud, and stowed his hamr in the storage ring.

He picked a black iron-colored ring from the disgusting flesh, nodding satisfyingly.

Indeed, it was a Space Ring—they had avoided striking this ring during the attack intentionally.

Hopefully, there was sothing useful inside!
