I Ascend to the Divine Throne through Arcane Means Chapter 672 - 672 436 Elf Royal Court Jonor City
Chapter 672: Chapter 436 Elf Royal Court Jonor City Chapter 672: Chapter 436 Elf Royal Court Jonor City Caspar Valley,
Although Ricardo’s distraction was only for a mont, Lis, who had been keeping a watchful eye on him, naturally noticed this.
Why did Ricardo react to the Abyss Power?
Could he have been controlled by Demon Prince Demogorgon?
Lis hesitated for a bit, but quickly dismissed this speculation.
There were many thods to control others, but Ricardo was a powerful individual who had mastered the forces of the Extraordinary Domain; both his soul and spirit had been sublimated again, and controlling such a person would be quite difficult.
Even for Demon Prince Demogorgon, it would be exceedingly challenging to force control over Ricardo by penetrating the protection of Gaia World.
If he had truly succeeded in controlling Ricardo, Ricardo couldn’t possibly appear so normal.
The strong corrosiveness of Abyss Power would cause significant changes in both personality and appearance of anyone forcefully controlled by it.
Lis was quite experienced in such matters, but he had not previously sensed such changes in Ricardo.
Fortunately, Lis had anticipated this and had taken it into account while preparing in advance.
“Mr. Lis, what is this in your hand?”
Ricardo looked toward the Elent Core in Lis’s hand and asked with so uncertainty.
Ricardo, who had just rushed out from the group of Earth Elent Giants not long ago, naturally recognized that it was the core of a Giant.
However, Lis’s Elent Core seed different from those he had seen before, and for so unknown reason, it had an inexplicable attraction to him.
He felt as if he was eager to possess that Elent Core.
Having never encountered such a feeling before, Ricardo was sowhat puzzled.
Was there sothing special about this Elent Core?
While inquiring with Lis, Ricardo observed the earthy yellow spherical crystal closely.
As a Golden Mage, he could clearly feel the profound magic emanating from the Elent Core.
It was an extrely rich Elental Magic of the Earth Elent, surely obtained from a Gold-Level Earth Elental Giant…
However, Ricardo had seen too many artifacts of this type to consider it the cause of his attraction.
The subtle attraction made Ricardo feel sowhat uneasy, yet his body genuinely craved the Elent Core in Lis’s hand.
Lis discreetly watched Ricardo’s status, pretending to be indifferent as he said:
“This? ”
“It’s sothing I obtained from that deep teal Earth Elent Giant; the quality is quite good.”
Ricardo was about to say sothing when he suddenly paused.
He realized that the faint attraction he felt from the Elent Core had vanished!
What was this all about?
Ricardo rubbed his forehead, sowhat doubtful whether he was truly getting old.
Perhaps it was because he had expended too much magic and needed a good rest?
Uncertain about what had happened, Ricardo felt perplexed.
Lis noticed the change in Ricardo’s expression and beca a few degrees more certain in his heart.
Just now, the last trace of Abyss Power within the Elent Core had dissipated, and perhaps that was why Ricardo sensed sothing amiss.
Perhaps due to Lis’s heroic actions just monts ago, Ricardo still placed considerable trust in him and did not overly conceal his emotions in front of him.
“A deep teal Giant? I understand.”
Upon hearing this, Ricardo recalled the colossal figure that suddenly appeared amongst their ranks, the Giant that almost decimated the latter half of the elf troop.
Ricardo rembered the scene where Lis defeated the deep teal Giant and was awed by Lis’s strength.
After hesitating for a mont, Ricardo said to Lis:
“Mr. Lis, I wonder if you could let have that Elent Core.”
“Of course, I am willing to exchange it for sothing of equivalent value.”
Ricardo hesitated for a mont, feeling it wasn’t quite appropriate, but he still couldn’t help himself and spoke to Lis.
Despite not understanding what had just happened, Ricardo did not want to miss such an opportunity.
“Of course, you can.”
Lis agreed readily.
After his recent observations, Lis had a fair idea of Ricardo’s current situation.
Ricardo had simply been tainted by Abyss Power, albeit very slightly; at most, it could only guide his thoughts to a certain extent.
That was probably why the Elf Legend had not noticed Ricardo’s anomaly, right?
After all, Ricardo appeared no different on the surface, and even he himself was unaware that there was an issue.
Situations like this were all too common on the battlegrounds of the Blood Battle, where large-scale slaughter and death allowed the essence of the Abyss to pervade the entire battleground. Many warriors from the united armies of Gaia World were unknowingly tainted by Abyss Power, ultimately falling into chaos and suffering.
For Lis, the Elent Core, now devoid of all Abyss Power, no longer held much use.
Giving it to Ricardo posed no problem, especially since Lis was certain that Ricardo would not be able to glean anything from it.
“Thank you, Lis,”
Ricardo showed a hint of a smile on his face, considerably brightening his mood.
After a brief hesitation, Ricardo took out a brownish-yellow hexagonal gemstone from his storage ring and handed it to Lis.
“This is known as the Heart of the Earth, and I believe it should be of comparable value.”
