I Ascend to the Divine Throne through Arcane Means Chapter 679 - 679 439 World Tree Illusion and Cognitive
Chapter 679: Chapter 439 World Tree Illusion and Cognitive Bias_2 Chapter 679: Chapter 439 World Tree Illusion and Cognitive Bias_2 It’s best to be cautious in a place like the Elf Royal Court, where controversies abound.
Truthfully, everything Lis witnessed today gave him an unclear feeling.
Especially that Pompey Clan Leader, although Lis had never heard of the “Premonition Ring” before, if the ring’s effect was truly as Pompey had described, its level must not be low.
To entrust it to just like that?
With this ring, could he really discover who the mastermind behind the scenes was?
Lis hardly believed it, having him wander around the Elf Royal Court with the ring, waiting for it to trigger an effect that would reveal clues about the mastermind?
This thod always seed sowhat childish.
With an Elf Legend in place and the power left by the Elf Gods, was I really to believe that they were pinning their hopes on him, a Human?
Or was it that, in fact, the Pompey Clan Leader had secretly prepared many plans to search for clues, and he was rely a part of that plan?
How could he obtain more information?
Should he just do as the Pompey Clan Leader asked?
Lis pondered this in his heart, his right hand subconsciously sweeping in front of him.
Hm?
Lis suddenly stopped, looking at his hand hanging in mid-air.
What am I doing?
Sohow, that disconcerting feeling had surfaced again in Lis’ heart.
It was like when having a conversation, about to say sothing and then suddenly his mind went blank.
It was sowhat nauseating, sowhat uncomfortable…
Lis silently watched his right hand, trying hard to figure out what was wrong, but ultimately, he ca up with nothing.
Indeed, it seed like sothing was not right!
Lis’ heart tightened, the abnormalities of the Elf Royal Court making him feel as though he had fallen into a surreal story, where everything seed normal yet was filled with a bizarre aura.
Should he retreat and leave now?
Lis hesitated for a mont, but then suppressed the thought.
It was only the first day, and he had already felt nurous abnormalities.
Although he had not yet visited other places in the Elf Royal Court, he estimated that the unsettling elents would not be few.
Leaving aside Pompey and the others, he did not know why Ricardo showed no reaction at all.
Could it be that this was due to Ricardo being contaminated by the Abyss Power?
That being said, was the entire Elf Royal Court now contaminated by the Abyss Power?
Lis felt like he was now sitting on a powder keg, and this powder keg was the entire Elf Royal Court.
However, Lis did not want to leave now. Firstly, because he was prepared with ergency asures and confident that he could leave the Elf Royal Court safely before danger approached.
The second reason was that having just begun to touch upon the secrets of the destruction of the Elf Royal Court, he was reluctant to leave now.
All the preparations he had made before would have been in vain.
No rush; although there were so oddities, there seed to be so ti left until the destruction of the Elf Royal Court.
Lis thought silently to himself, hoping if possible, he truly wanted to save Cecil.
In his previous life, even if Cecil had not died under an assassin’s blade, she certainly did not escape the destruction of the Elf Royal Court.
It was precisely because of the deaths of Cecil and her mother that the future Elf Sword Saint beca so overly emotional.
For Lis, saving Cecil was also a way to ingratiate himself with the future Legendary Sword Master.
Of course, more importantly, Lis himself wanted to help this steadfast Elf girl.
Better to take one step at a ti…
Lis thought silently to himself, standing up.
After stretching lazily and loosening his body, Lis twisted his neck and walked outside the house.
It’s ti to practice Martial Arts!
Not practicing Martial Arts for a day makes him feel completely off.
If Mr. Stephens knew he was neglecting his martial arts training like this, he would definitely give him a harsh lesson!
…
The next day, at the Elf Royal Court,
Early in the morning, Ricardo ca looking for Lis, ready to explore the Royal Court together to see if they could trigger the effects of the “Premonition Ring.”
Lis felt Ricardo seed eager to find those pulling the strings behind the scenes, but he didn’t refuse his company.
Although having an Elf Elder as his guide was sowhat overqualified, Lis really wasn’t familiar with the Elf Royal Court.
Especially since Lis was interested in several places within the Elf Royal Court, having Ricardo, an elder of the Illiser family as a companion, was beneficial.
At least, there was no worry about being stopped by others while visiting so places.
…
“Is this the World Tree Altar?”
Lis now stood in the very heart of the Elf Royal Court Jonor City, marvelling at the sight before him.
Typically, the central area of a city is the busiest and most bustling area, but the Elf Royal Court was different.
The most central area of Jonor City had no buildings, just an ancient, massively spacious altar lying quietly here.
This ancient altar had only three levels and looked very simple, even crude.
The grayish-blue bricks that made up the altar, each seed to carry the traces of the years, eroded by wind and rain into a mottled state, yet exuding a kind of tiless beauty. Between those bricks, there seed to linger the laughter and whispers of the Elves, either from their rry gatherings or their devout prayers.
The few remaining stone pillars on the altar stood like guardian deities. Despite the many years of weathering, they remained upright, their bodies battered yet their majesty and strength undiminished. The rugged and wild patterns carved on the pillars, each stroke brimming with the vitality of life, seed to reflect the Elves’ close connection with nature.
Lis viewed the altar before him as if it were a weighty history book, each brick and pillar a chapter docunting the Elves’ glory and decline, narrating the changes and eternality of the world.
Standing here, Lis quietly felt the awe and reverence that spanned ti and space.
The history of this altar possibly predated the flourishing prosperity of the Human Clan, maybe even older than many eternal deities.
Lis could sense a faint yet pure divine aura enveloping this ancient altar, perhaps it was preserved due to the protection of the Elf Gods.
Gazing at this ancient altar, Lis montarily saw an imnse tree that covered the sky, standing solitary in a world that was still a wilderness, yet so vibrant with life.
To Lis, this gigantic tree seed to have its roots deep in the whole world.
Its thick and solid branches, sturdy like mountains, seed like a warrior’s arms holding up the entire sky; and its lush green leaves, as nurturing as a mother’s embrace, warm and ample, providing shelter and sustenance to the barren world.
Even more magical was when sunlight filtered through its crown, casting dappled shadows alongside droplets of green life essence like a cascading waterfall of light, spreading light and hope to the earth, like rain nourishing the soul, allowing the barren land to burst forth with vibrant life.
A mont later, Lis snapped out of the hallucination.
Was this World Tree Yggdrasil?
Originating at the dawn of the Gaia World, the bearer of all life?
Standing beside Lis, Ricardo noticed he had co to and smilingly said,
“Did you see? That is our origin and mother, the World Tree!”
“This altar was once the place where the mother World Tree took root, this space and ti imprinted with special marks that have never faded in millions of years.”
“Indeed, it’s heart-stirring!”
Lis nodded, his heart full of emotions.
This could indeed be considered a miracle!
When he saw the World Tree, he felt as if he were imrsed in the river of ti, his perspective lifted to an imnse height.
For so reason, Lis always felt an overwhelming urge to be close to the World Tree in the illusion.
Ding~
A clear sound rang by Lis’s ear, but he showed no reaction.
If the “World Tree New Bud” was to appear in the ruins of the Elf Royal Court, it was most likely to be here, right?
Lis, looking at the ancient altar before him, was also filled with anticipation.
Indeed, choosing to co to the Elf Royal Court was the right decision, witnessing such a miracle made the journey worthwhile.
The rest was just to find the one who attacked the Day Elf, and then this journey would be truly complete!
As Lis thought, he was unaware that his understanding had once again shifted.
