*Step step step…*
A series of urgent footsteps echoed as Yan Jiao arrived at the second floor of the Yong’an Building, carrying a set of armour.
He steadied his breathing and said, "Shaman, the armour you requested has been forged."
It was quite obvious that the Chieftain’s gaze had remained fixed on that armour throughout, and even while speaking he was suppressing his excitent.
When he had first received this armour, he had been sowhat stunned. It could truly be called a gift from the Totem Deities.
He had never seen such clothing before, supposedly capable of defending against nurous attacks.
Whether it was the tactile sensation when handling it, or the feeling when worn, everything left Yan Jiao utterly captivated.
"Oh? That quickly." Su Bai took the armour and began examining it closely.
This armour was crafted using Ferocious Beast Hide, and was similar to the armour from Earth.
However, the level of refinent was naturally not as good, essentially resembling clothing, with the hide pieces strung together.
Small rectangular pieces of hide were assembled together, like a large piece of fabric.
The people at the military workshop had used this large piece of fabric to begin crafting clothing, though the manufacturing process was far more complex than making ordinary garnts.
"Shaman, can this truly resist attacks?" Yan Jiao voiced his confusion.
"Have you tried it on?" Su Bai did not directly answer the question.
"Yes, I’ve tried it on, and it’s not heavy either." Yan Jiao replied without hesitation.
"Then how is the toughness of this armour? Have you tested it?" Su Bai continued asking.
Yan Jiao reflected for a mont, then nodded and said, "When we previously hunted this Ferocious Beast, we discovered that recurve bows were useless against it."
"Put it on and let’s see." Su Bai handed the armour back.
Yan Jiao was sowhat puzzled, but still took it and put it on, asking, "Shaman, what next?"
Su Bai picked up a Crocodile Blade used for regular training, smiling gently, "I’ll test it right before your eyes."
Seeing the other’s peaceful smile, why did Yan Jiao suddenly feel rather unsettled?
Nevertheless, he was ultimately a Totem Warrior. His body showed no trace of fear, instead standing very straight.
"Shaman, co at then." Yan Jiao said seriously.
*Clang!*
There was only a crisp sound as the Crocodile Blade was blocked by the hide armour, causing no harm whatsoever to the Chieftain’s body.
"Shaman, it truly can’t harm ." Yan Jiao only saw a slight mark on the armour’s surface.
However, that was rely it. The armour had not cracked, and he himself had not been injured in the slightest.
"Do other Tribes have weapons as good as ours?" Su Bai continued asking.
"Other Tribes don’t have weapons as good as ours. To think even a Crocodile Blade can’t harm ."
A smile began to appear on Yan Jiao’s face as he continued, "Other Tribes’ weapons would be useless against this."
"En, but the quantity of this armour isn’t that great, is it?" Su Bai asked.
He rembered that the raw materials for this armour had co from those Ferocious Beasts that had attacked the Tribe during the eternal night.
However, according to what Sha Lan had said at the ti, there were not many such Ferocious Beasts, and the hides stripped from them were not abundant either.
"Yes, we only have ten sets, there aren’t any more available." Yan Jiao replied in a low voice.
"You, Sha Hong and the others should each take one first. When we produce more later, we’ll distribute them to the other Totem Warriors." Su Bai arranged.
Tribes were like this. The class hierarchy was quite pronounced, and good things were generally only available to those in the upper echelons.
"Shaman, leave them for the children. They’ve just awakened and might need them more." Yan Jiao was still worried about his Daughter.
"No need. It’s not as if we won’t have more later. Just distribute shields to them."
Su Bai picked up his teacup and continued. "We can’t let them develop dependency, relying on these things for everything."
He did not want his appearance to result in a significant decline in the strength of this generation’s Totem Warriors.
The truth was that he had invented too many things, like recurve bows, Crocodile Blades and such.
These weapons already overwhelmingly surpassed other Tribes; adding armour on top would be excessive.
Those Warriors would be unable to develop their inherent abilities and would beco perpetually dependent on these items.
The older Totem Warriors, who had previously lacked such weapons, still possessed considerable strength. He had to sharpen their senses and skills to survive up to this point. Su Bai did not want to give those hatchlings these things too quickly, and dull such growth.
"I understand. Then we’ll have more of those shields made available." Yan Jiao thought of that Ferocious Beast’s shell.
Those Tortoise-like Ferocious Beasts all had enormous shells, which the Tribe had preserved.
"En, I’ve already examined them, and the quality is indeed quite good." Su Bai said with satisfaction.
When he had obtained those shield prototypes, he had also tested them. The weight was not excessive, and most importantly, their hardness was excellent.
The craftsn had spent considerable ti polishing these shields, as the shells were extrely hard.
Fashioning individual shell pieces into usable shields was no easy task.
The shield’s appearance still retained the shell’s characteristic protruding peaks, as if one were holding a mountain in their hands.
"Shaman, the construction speed of the cent houses has increased considerably lately. Many foundations have already been completed." Yan Jiao suddenly ntioned.
He still had to express his amazent. The cent houses and such were truly overwhelming.
"Tell them to be careful. Speed is good, but quality standards must be kept up." Su Bai cautioned.
He did not want shoddy construction projects due to the pursuit of speed.
These cent houses would not be renovated again for a long ti. He plans to have them inhabited for several years.
Naturally, they needed to pursue solid construction, lest they collapse during the rain or snow seasons.
"Shaman, rest assured. I’ve already strictly required this of them, and I’ll also spend ti there supervising whenever possible." Yan Jiao imdiately said.
He had been spending most of his recent ti there specifically to properly monitor the work.
He did not want those people to rush just to eat at quickly, or to hurry to complete one site and move to the next.
Yan Jiao appeared every few days, constantly watching these people work. They naturally would not hold any ulterior motives as they knew that they would eventually be able to live in these cent houses themselves, so when constructing them, they put in their utmost effort.
Every day they were allocated a large piece of at to eat. Where could one find such a good Tribe? No, even if they were in a good Tribe, it would be impossible to have at to eat every day.
Most other Tribe’s at distribution was exceptionally clear-cut; so people, no matter how much they laboured, would not be allocated at.
"Good. With Ah’Lan absent, I’ll need to have you arrange all these matters." Su Bai said calmly.
He was referring to the supervision work, which had previously been handled by Sha Lan when she was present.
"Those children are currently undergoing a trial you have given. Compared to that, this matter isn’t anything significant." Yan Jiao also took pleasure in doing this.
It was better than watching those Warriors train every day. Supervising the cent house construction felt great to him.
