Chapter 795: Only Just the Beginning

*Whoosh whoosh…*

Lee Yun and Zen flew towards the sky under Ai’er’s guidance, their destination a location two days’ distance from the Tribe.

The three had departed since early morning, carrying an especially large quantity of food with them.

Although the flying ti would be shorter than travelling overland, a two-day distance would still require at least half a day of flight.

"Sister Ai’er, this is our first ti patrolling so far from the Tribe. What should we be watching out for?" Lee Yun asked curiously.

The dragonfly girl’s thin wings maintained a constant rapid fluttering, their oscillation frequency extraordinarily high.

The naked eye couldn’t capture the wing movent frequency at all, perceiving only a grey blur of vibration.

Despite the wings’ trendous speed, the dragonfly girl showed no signs of fatigue whatsoever.

"You must carefully scan your surrounding environnt. Don’t overlook any detail. Sotis, don’t rely on your physical sight to perceive," Ai’er explained.

When she had previously been assigned to patrol, she had received these sa instructions from deeply experienced Totem Warriors. So, various techniques had beco thoroughly ingrained in her mind. When flying, she never dared relax her vigilance for a single mont.

"Don’t rely on physical sight? What does that an?" Zen tilted his round head.

He could not understand. He only knew that the areas currently visible showed no abnormalities. If they couldn’t use their eyes, what else could they possibly use to observe?

"Sister Ai’er, we probably don’t have very strong perception. The most we can manage is looking with our eyes," Lee Yun said awkwardly.

She had been frowning while examining the situation below, but had not discovered anything unusual.

Everything below appeared entirely green, or else rivers. She hadn’t observed anything else.

"Sotis what the eyes perceive isn’t necessarily reality. You must use your heart to scan the environnt around us," Ai’er smiled slightly.

The butterfly girl recalled when she had first heard these words, she too had been completely bewildered.

Her understanding had been to perceive using Totem Power, but at that ti she had rely been a Warrior Trainee. What Totem Power did she possess for perception?

"Use our hearts to perceive? That might be rather difficult," Zen furrowed his brow.

He was the most careless and impulsive person of all. Requiring him now to perceive with his heart was genuinely challenging.

"You’re already saying it’s difficult before even trying. You must try before you can know," Ai’er scolded.

The butterfly girl, observing the sparrow boy’s manner, was reminded of Cheng Shi.

Both were equally careless, charging recklessly into everything without consideration.

Cheng Shi back then had said precisely the sa thing, also believing that perceiving with the heart was simply impossible.

"Very well, I’ll give it a try," Zen shook his head vigorously, his orange eyes examining the situation below with serious attention.

Zen’s small sparrow wings fluttered continuously, his head protruding forward like a turtle’s neck.

His round orange eyes seed to be striving to capture sothing. Suddenly, he felt as though ti below had frozen entirely.

The three continued flying forward, the scenery below retreating fra by fra like a film projector.

Their flight speed was particularly rapid. The weather happened to be excellent, so even flying swiftly wouldn’t cause the wind to irritate their eyes.

During strong wind conditions, they needed to be more cautious, because one never knew when wind might carry debris that could easily enter the eyes and cause loss of flight balance.

"I’ll try as well," Lee Yun likewise widened her red eyes to observe the forest below.

Both attempted to identify sothing different within this seemingly unremarkable forest.

Although Ai’er was only leading them on this training exercise, her purple eyes hadn’t remained idle either, constantly scanning the environnt below.

She had bound her long purple hair behind her head. "How is it? Have you noticed anything different?" she asked.

The butterfly girl had already discovered sothing unusual, which was why she posed this question to them both.

"I’ve found sothing!" Zen’s sparrow wings fluttered even more vigorously. He pointed towards a distant location, exclaiming excitedly, "I can see a Ferocious Beast concealed in the grass there."

The sparrow boy’s observation was quite clear. His already round orange eyes had widened even further.

"I’ve spotted one too. In that small river, there’s a Ferocious Beast preparing to launch an attack against a wild deer drinking water," Lee Yun added excitedly.

Both scenes they had discovered were completely hidden beneath the dense forest canopy, or concealed underwater.

Without careful observation, discovering these scenes would have been absolutely impossible.

One could appreciate that both had genuinely absorbed the butterfly girl’s words. Otherwise, they couldn’t possibly have noticed these details.

"Excellent. You’re now beginner scouts. Continue with your efforts," Ai’er praised.

"We’ve only beginners?" Zen couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

He had spotted a beast hidden in the grass. To spot such a thing yet still be considered a beginner? Zen could not help but feel astonished.

"Sister Ai’er, what did you discover just now?" Lee Yun asked curiously.

The dragonfly girl shared Zen’s confusion. If they were rely at ‘beginner level’, what would constitute genuine mastery?

"Just now, a blue python was coiled around a large tree. It was concealed extraordinarily well. It’s in the direction ahead to the left," Ai’er gradually reduced her flight speed.

Lee Yun and Zen simultaneously turned their gaze in that direction, both pairs of round eyes searching for sothing.

"I…" Zen hesitated for quite so ti before saying uncertainly, "I think I might see it."

"What about you, Ah Yun?" Ai’er turned her head to ask.

Lee Yun was still striving to examine each tree’s condition. She too said sowhat hesitantly, "I think I might see it as well."

When both spoke these words, they lacked confidence, because they were not certain whether they had truly seen it.

"The direction you’re currently looking at is correct. That place you find strange does indeed have a snake there." Ai’er’s lips curved slightly upwards.

These subtle details had required the butterfly girl to study for an extrely long period previously. To master this technique, she had been called out daily for patrol. If she failed to learn properly, she would likely go without dinner.

"But it’s rged completely with the tree leaves. This is far too difficult to detect." Zen protested.

"Precisely because of this, you need to work even harder," Ai’er said seriously.
