Beisitian went to work at the health team the next day. Now everyone except Tian Lei had basically returned, and the people in the third examination room were all very happy to see Beisitian.
Yu Shufang smiled and said, "Xiao Bei is back, how was your trip? I heard you went to your grandfather’s house in Beijing?"
Beisitian nodded and said, "Yes, it was an exciting trip."
Qi Xiu Hui also chuckled softly but didn’t say anything.
At this mont, the sound of running ca from outside, and soon Ma Xiuli appeared at the door, panting. She looked at Beisitian and laughed, "You’re finally back, we missed you."
Shen Junping glanced at her with mock irritation, "You just want her to take night shifts, don’t you!"
Night shifts?
Beisitian recalled that they had already been regularized and were also required to work night shifts.
"Haha, that’s right. With these three helping hands, we can at least reduce two night shifts each month!" Ma Xiuli said happily, placing a bunch of items she was holding on the table and glancing at two other plastic bags on the table.
"Did Xiao Bei bring these back?"
"Yes, they are snacks from Beijing and ho," Beisitian said with a smile.
Ma Xiuli opened the plastic bags and found lots of delicious treats inside, and she happily started eating while saying, "Did you know? We are getting a new doctor who is rumored to be very impressive."
Shen Junping looked at her sitting on his desk, his eyes flickered slightly, but he didn’t ask her to get down.
"Is it a new one, or a specially invited one? Special invites usually don’t stay long, and they’re held in high regard; even Director Sun might not be able to control them," Yu Shufang said.
Ma Xiuli leaned forward slightly, smiled at Shen Junping, and said, "Brother Shen, your status might be at risk!"
Shen Junping looked up to see Ma Xiuli’s smiling face and imdiately shifted his gaze elsewhere, saying, "I’m just helping Director Sun with ssages and collecting things, where’s the status in that?"
"Brother Shen, you are being too self-deprecating, everyone in the health team respects you. Why pretend to be humble?" Ma Xiuli said, swinging her legs slightly.
Shen Junping chuckled, "Humble is humble, what do you an by pretend to be humble?"
Beisitian watched everyone’s conversation, the atmosphere harmonious and peaceful, she had a gentle smile on her face.
"By the way, why haven’t I seen Ding Sisi?" Beisitian suddenly asked.
Everyone went silent and looked at Beisitian. Ma Xiuli said, "You don’t know? Ding Sisi couldn’t get regularized and resigned later. If she had been transferred to a grassroots unit, she would’ve had it tough, so it was wise to do so."
Beisitian nodded and didn’t ask further.
Within a couple of days, Tian Lei also returned, and this ti he openly called Beibei, and no one would say anything.
Luo Jiali curled her lips, "Look at your lack of ambition!"
Tian Lei glared at her, "I’ve just co back, and you start attacking , give so breathing space, will you?"
Luo Jiali chuckled, "When did you learn to retreat to advance?"
Tian Lei snorted and said, "I just didn’t stoop to your level before, bullying a little woman is too disgraceful."
Luo Jiali rolled her eyes at him, but her smile grew bigger.
Over here, Shen Junping had arranged the night shifts and said to the three of them, "There are usually no issues at night, you all know the ergency asures. If there’s a severe case, perform first aid and then call us, and if it seems very urgent, send them directly to the city hospital."
The three of them expressed their understanding.
Sun Wangnian, knowing Beisitian had returned, called her to the office for a chat. After pondering, he asked, "Doctor Bei, about General Zhou’s illness..."
The reason he asked was that the timing was too coincidental. General Zhou had been in a coma for two years, and right after Beisitian went, there was news of him waking up. How could he not have any thoughts?
Beisitian smiled but said nothing, and Sun Wangnian was even more convinced it was her. He sighed; this small health team housed a big shot, and soon another big shot was coming. Was his ti finally turning around?
That person’s matter needed to be kept confidential, so Sun Wangnian didn’t say much.
Beisitian hadn’t yet started her night shifts, but she received an unexpected visitor. Looking at Wei Zhongxun standing in the office as a specially invited doctor, Sun Wangnian personally introduced him, and she only wanted to facepalm.
She thought Wei Zhongxun had given up but didn’t expect him to follow her here. What exactly made him so persistent?
After Sun Wangnian finished introducing, Wei Zhongxun’s gaze fell on Beisitian, and he smiled aningfully, "Long ti no see, Doctor Bei."
He no longer referred to her as Mrs. Luo, directly calling her Doctor Bei, indicating he already knew her identity.
Beisitian smiled faintly.
Sun Wangnian, standing aside, had a light of realization flash in his eyes, both of them were Mystic Doctors and they indeed knew each other.
The others were a bit surprised, too. Wei Zhongxun was a specially invited doctor, and Beisitian was just regularized as a dical Assistant. How did they know each other?
Instead, Luo Jiali had a flash of surprise in her eyes. She had shown surprise when Wei Zhongxun appeared, and upon hearing his greeting to Beisitian, she looked at Beisitian with so suspicion.
Wei Zhongxun didn’t work with the health team’s doctors; Director Sun arranged a private office for him.
"Could Doctor Bei co to my office?" Wei Zhongxun said before leaving.
Beisitian had no choice but to go, as she wanted to see what Wei Zhongxun was up to.
In the office, Wei Zhongxun was admiring a pot of green calla lilies by the window and only turned to look over when he heard the door.
"Doctor Bei just got regularized from a dical Assistant?" Wei Zhongxun asked with interest.
Beisitian remained silent, looking at him, said, "What do you want? Chasing all the way here."
Wei Zhongxun made a ’please’ gesture, indicating Beisitian to sit down, "Doctor Bei, you’ve hidden yourself deeply. What’s this? Not planning to continue hiding?"
Beisitian frowned slightly, sensing a hint of anger in his tone, she couldn’t help but say, "What I do is my business."
She said this while sitting on the sofa, "But Mr. Wei, approaching ti and again, what exactly is your purpose!"
Wei Zhongxun’s eyelids twitched, knowing he was sowhat emotional, he couldn’t afford to offend this lady right now, he cleared his throat, "First, congratulations to Doctor Bei for curing General Zhou’s illness!"
"Thank you," Beisitian said calmly.
"Actually, I wanted to ask Doctor Bei for help." Wei Zhongxun felt it wasn’t the right ti to say it now, given the tension earlier, but he feared Beisitian might see him as having ulterior motives, which would be worse.
He knew he was impatient, making a wrong move.
"No," Beisitian imdiately said.
Wei Zhongxun’s expression tightened, she refused without even letting him speak, clearly angered by previous events.
