Peng Baocheng isn’t in the clothing business, but because of his wife’s influence, he’s invested a lot of effort into this high-end clothing store and spent a lot of ti researching, even hiring famous foreign designers to create designs.
So, he does have a keen eye. However, the designers he’s hired so far haven’t quite managed to blend Eastern and Western elents together, possibly due to their design philosophies. The clothing styles they’ve produced have been disappointing, even to the point of being neither here nor there.
He’s also hired so dostic designers, but unfortunately, the level here is way too low. Those so-called designers haven’t even reached the standard of being called designers; most are just blindly copying Western styles.
Thus, when he saw Beisitian’s dress, he was imdiately captivated. At first, it was a mild surprise, but the more he looked, the more pleasing he found it. If this modern dress with a Chinese flair were worn by a dostic woman, it would not only highlight the intellectual beauty of Eastern won but also exude unique Eastern elegance and nobility!
"This is truly a wonderful design!" Peng Baocheng murmured, holding the piece of plain paper.
"Yes, I think so too." Ma Tianlai chid in with a serious tone, though he personally thought clothes that reveal the back were more appealing—the kind that reveal what should and shouldn’t be shown, easy to take off as well!
Beisitian looked up at the dress before her and suddenly felt that blending East and West was a rather ingenious idea. Moreover, as she looked at the dress, many styles popped into her mind. With slight modifications, these styles could change significantly, making them very suitable for contemporary dostic won who are not yet fully in tune with the world, more traditional yet aspiring for fashion!
However, she only had so inspiration and could sketch a bit. As for designing, that must be left to the professionals!
"This lady is actually a designer!" Peng Baocheng looked at Beisitian with delight. Wasn’t this exactly what he had always thought of—combining East and West to create a major fashion brand for the people!
No wonder Brother Ma ntioned that this person might be able to change the store’s sluggish state; turns out, this lady is a highly skilled designer!
Ma Tianlai patted his friend’s shoulder and said, "She’s not a designer; she’s a highly respected doctor!" He repeated Beisitian’s profession, taking the opportunity to give a friendly pat on the back.
Beisitian shook her head with a smile and did not comnt on Ma Tianlai’s words. She said to Peng Baocheng, "I’m not a designer. I used to work as an embroidery woman, often drawing so patterns."
This explained why she could effortlessly draw. She already had a decent level of traditional Chinese painting skills. Although many techniques are different, simple lines did not pose a challenge to her.
Ma Tianlai looked at Beisitian in astonishnt, "Doctor Bei used to be an embroidery woman?"
The social status of an embroidery woman is quite low; to put it bluntly, it’s a laborer position, and a lower-end, temporary one at that. Ma Tianlai never imagined Beisitian would have done such work, hardly compatible with her identity as a Mystic Doctor.
But Ma Tianlai thought, perhaps this is what they an by "the great hermits live in the city."
Peng Baocheng laughed, "An embroidery woman?! My wife used to love embroidery, all kinds, collecting many masterpieces. One of them is a famous piece called Three-Dinsional Double-Sided Embroidery. You, as an embroidery woman, should know this work. It was showcased in Shanghai and caused a sensation in the industry. My wife overca nurous hurdles to finally acquire it..."
Saying this, his mood suddenly turned somber, "Unfortunately..."
Ma Tianlai also fell silent upon hearing this, sighing. He knew his wife’s condition seed beyond even divine intervention. He once said that when his wife passes, he would close the store and follow her together.
Wait a mont... Ma Tianlai suddenly looked at Beisitian.
Beisitian was sowhat dazed upon hearing this, realizing that her work had been bought by Peng Baocheng’s wife!
She felt that fate in this world is truly miraculous. After selling that work, she never deliberately inquired about it, thinking she might never encounter the person who bought it. Who would have thought they’d et under such circumstances?
Peng Baocheng’s mood shift was brief; his smile soon returned as he said, "If my wife were still well, perhaps she could have beco friends with this lady."
Having researched the subject, he knew that casually drawing such patterns is not as easy as she had implied. Though the sketches show she hasn’t formally studied design, her inspiration is superb, and her drawings are vividly realistic. With professional help to refine them, they’d beco a complete dress design!
Ma Tianlai suppressed his thoughts, understanding that Beisitian wouldn’t be easy to persuade, yet she wasn’t cold-hearted either. Thus, this matter must depend on Peng Baocheng asking her personally.
Holding the piece of paper, Peng Baocheng said to Beisitian, "If you’re willing to trust , Doctor Bei, I’d like our store to produce this dress. I’m also attending that event, and we will surely rush to get it done."
Beisitian smiled gently, glancing at her already bulging abdon. Though it wasn’t very large yet, she could no longer wear anything cinched at the waist.
Seeing this, Peng Baocheng was suddenly at a loss, genuinely wanting to create a dress in this style.
"May I borrow your pen again?" Beisitian requested.
Peng Baocheng imdiately smiled and quickly handed over his pen to Beisitian.
Beisitian took the pen and began drawing. It wasn’t long before she produced a new pattern. Her current drawing was at most a sample illustration, not quite a professional design sketch.
Holding the sketch, Peng Baocheng was repeatedly amazed, "I didn’t expect such fashion sense could also be achieved in this way. As a result, not only pregnant won but even those who are overweight can dress elegantly!"
Peng Baocheng, being a businessman with a sharp eye, almost foresaw that once such clothes were manufactured, they would sell like hotcakes!
"Madam, could I purchase these two sketches from you?" Peng Baocheng asked sincerely.
"Sure, na your price." Beisitian smiled gently.
Peng Baocheng hesitated for a mont and said, "Since we don’t know the profit margin yet, how about this: would a thousand per sketch be acceptable to you?"
In fact, Beisitian’s sketches should probably be worth more, but considering her lack of fa and current uncertainty about sales, Peng Baocheng’s offer wasn’t low.
Unfamiliar with pricing in this area, Beisitian glanced toward Ma Tianlai, who sensed the cue—this was his mont to shine.
"The market price of that should not be considered low, though I think we might add two hundred more, making it twelve hundred per design," Ma Tianlai stated, looking strictly businesslike.
Peng Baocheng raised an eyebrow at this traitor, but agreed quickly. Adding two hundred wasn’t a major issue for him; should the product sell well, Beisitian’s reputation would grow, and the design prices could rise even more!
