The contractions aren’t actually the most painful; the real pain starts after the water breaks!

There are actually a few thods to ease the pain during contractions. Of course, easing is only relative. Typically, as the contractions beco more severe, close your mouth, take deep breaths through your nose, and then exhale through your mouth, as slowly as possible.

This may not reduce the pain by much, but it’s mainly to conserve energy after dilation for childbirth because giving birth is incredibly physically demanding!

The doctor hurriedly checked and was imdiately taken aback, realizing that she was already six centiters dilated!

"It’s already six centiters!"

Luo Xudong didn’t understand what this ant. He could occasionally hear Beisitian groaning in pain. Since it was constant, he assud it was fine and wanted to conserve his energy for the surgery in the early morning, so he was resting on the bed.

"Doctor, what does this an?"

"When it gets to ten centiters, it’s ti to give birth. At this rate, I’m afraid we won’t be able to wait until then." The doctor frowned and then asked, "When was the last ti you ate or drank sothing, and how much did you consu?"

In the later stages, pregnant won can easily crave food, sotis uncontrollably. Even if they’re not hungry, they feel like eating. Beisitian was no exception, and tonight, she had a buffet, so she ate quite a bit.

The doctor understood the situation and quickly reported it to Professor Qiu.

Beisitian sighed, as expected, facing this situation. Childbirth is natural, but no talismanic water can suppress it.

"I need to inquire about the situation. Here, hold onto this, and press it imdiately if there’s any situation," Luo Xudong said.

Beisitian took the pager and nodded.

Luo Xudong left the delivery room, and as soon as the door opened, everyone outside stood up. The Wei Zhongyuan brothers, Tian Zhi, Tian Qiu, Tian Lei, and the couple Tian Heming and Dong Fengzhen, along with the uncles and aunts, had all co.

Besides them, Zheng Lulu and Luo Jiali were also there. Where did they hear the news?

Seeing Luo Xudong co out, Wei Zhongyuan quickly peeked in, but the door had already closed, "How is it?"

Luo Xudong didn’t know the current situation either. He glanced at him and said nothing, heading toward the doctor’s office.

Wei Zhongyuan’s heart skipped a beat. Could there be a problem with the childbirth? He had been thinking about this since the ntion of triplets, as they pose more risks than single births.

But thinking about how Beisitian, such a kind person, had helped so many, God wouldn’t let her be in danger.

Wei Zhongxun pulled the dazed Wei Zhongyuan, and they both followed.

Mrs. Qin told Luo Anguo to wait here as they couldn’t be without soone, and then followed quickly.

In Professor Qiu’s office, because today Beisitian was scheduled for a C-section, and apart from Beisitian’s status, Professor Qiu quite liked her as a person, so she hadn’t gone ho, waiting for the surgery to end before leaving.

After hearing the doctor’s report, her face turned serious, and she imdiately got up to head to the ward, eting Luo Xudong and the others at the door.

Professor Qiu knew it wouldn’t suffice not to explain to these people. They weren’t like regular family mbers, so she started speaking while still on the move.

"It’s already six centiters dilated. At this speed, by the ti it reaches ten centiters, you’ll usually see the baby’s head," Professor Qiu said.

But in Beisitian’s case, it’s not normal. The baby’s head hasn’t turned down, so what you might see is a foot, and there’s a good chance you’ll only see one foot.

"In cases like Xiao Bei’s, where the water has broken and natural contractions have started, it’s rare since it’s not yet the due date. But she ate earlier, so we’ll need at least six hours before surgery."

Ideally, it’s better to wait eight hours.

"Otherwise, having food in the stomach increases the risk of surgery," Professor Qiu said.

Anesthesia or during the surgery may cause vomiting, easily leading to aspiration. Stomach contents are highly acidic, and if inhaled beyond a certain amount, it can cause aspiration pneumonia, which in severe cases can be life-threatening.

She didn’t go into detailed explanations with the family as they wouldn’t entirely understand, which could waste ti. It’s enough to tell them it increases surgical risk.

But under the current circumstances, it seems we’ll have to bear such risks.

When Professor Qiu arrived, Beisitian was already seven centiters dilated. She lay on the bed sideways, gripping the bedsheet tightly, her face flushed, and sweat had soaked through her clothes.

During contractions, moving around or lying on one’s stomach might provide so relief and help the cervix dilate faster. But since Beisitian’s water broke, she couldn’t even rise; otherwise, if any infection got to the amniotic fluid, that would be really bad!

Professor Qiu checked the ti; there were still three and a half hours before the surgery, and she felt a bit heavy-hearted. She spoke softly to Beisitian, "Xiao Bei, you know your current condition, right? You and your husband need to make a decision soon. Waiting until ten centiters before the surgery is too late."

Beisitian nodded lightly, hardly having the strength to speak anymore.

The only family in the delivery room now were Mrs. Qin and Luo Xudong, and since they decided to go for early surgery, the risks had to be clearly explained to the family.

So, Professor Qiu explained the key risks to them, mainly to Luo Xudong because he was the one authorized to sign any docunts, even if the parents ca, it wouldn’t be valid.

Luo Xudong listened intently, his face very grim. He felt a bit scared and even regretted wanting the child!

If he hadn’t wanted a child, would Beisitian not be facing such danger and decisions?!

Mrs. Qin looked from one to the other. She hadn’t understood a lot of what Professor Qiu said but knew this surgery was dangerous, not as confident as previously suggested.

"What if there’s danger?" Mrs. Qin asked wide-eyed.

Professor Qiu replied, "It depends on what kind of danger and to what extent before we know what ergency asures to take."

Hearing the term ’ergency,’ Mrs. Qin felt uneasy. Her expression turned heavy, and she clutched Professor Qiu, saying, "Doctor Qiu, if... if it really cos to that, prioritize saving the mother!"

Hearing this, Professor Qiu looked at Mrs. Qin again. Whether a mother-in-law is good isn’t just about words but actions, which show in both big and small matters.

From the mont Mrs. Qin entered with large and small packages, Professor Qiu knew she truly cared for Beisitian. Hearing these words now, her regard for Mrs. Qin grew.

In simple terms, a daughter-in-law might be seen as competing for their son’s affection. Most mothers-in-law have this subconscious mindset. A grandson to them is family, while a daughter-in-law is considered an outsider. It’s this ntality that breeds the idea that daughters-in-law and mothers-in-law are natural enemies.
