Luo Yirui thought that since he could write radicals in a grid book, he could also draw talismans on Yellow Talisman.
The only talisman he rembered was the talisman dium that Uncle Xun had made. Since his mom didn’t allow the use of talisman diums, Uncle Xun never dared to take it out.
That talisman dium was one that could make people fall asleep. Because it was simple and easy to understand, when he pestered Uncle Xun about it, Uncle Xun explained it to him, and he even managed to get the talisman dium from him.
Back then, Uncle Xun told him that when he grew up, he wouldn’t need such things at all. He just felt that talismans were interesting, much better than radicals and pinyin, with just lines and dots and curves, so he copied and practiced drawing it many tis, and thus rembered it.
The talismanic water that makes people fall asleep isn’t really harmful. Luo Yirui felt quite frustrated; if he had known, he would have pestered Uncle Xun to learn talisman drawing earlier!
Fortunately, back then, Wei Zhongxun chose the sleep-inducing talisman dium for convenience when teaching him. If it had been sothing to replenish energy and blood, Luo Yirui likely would have been helpless!
However, even now, even though Luo Yirui rembered how to draw the talisman and could barely manage to draw it, he had no confidence in whether he could succeed.
After all, he had failed nurous tis before. His mom said he was too young, that his spirit was not yet full. He’d have to wait until he was over sixteen to perform Spiritual Talisman, so he eventually gave up trying.
His mom said forcing talisman making when one’s spirit isn’t full is dangerous, but now, Luo Yirui knew danger was right in front of him.
His father said it was better to take a chance by himself than to wait for danger to arrive.
Luo Yirui’s curled-up body stretched out as he sat up, looking towards Jing Changle, who was lying next to him, and whispered, "I want to escape."
Jing Changle raised his head, eyes filled with shock, then sat up and asked, "How will you escape?"
Luo Yirui didn’t have a solid plan, but if he could successfully create the sleep-inducing talismanic water, perhaps he could make all the adults here faint.
A child’s world is relatively simple, and even if they have a plan, it’s full of loopholes. He hadn’t even thought about the fact that even if he made people faint, the iron gate still couldn’t be opened.
Luo Yirui was indeed very intelligent, mature for his age compared to his peers, but he was still just a child less than five years old. The re fact that he could think about so many things under pressure was already comndable.
Luo Yirui didn’t think there was anything wrong with his plan and began practicing drawing the talisman diligently, believing that once he succeeded in making it, most of the problems would be solved.
Luo Yirui picked up a Little Stone from the ground and started drawing on the floor. Once he finished, he’d wipe it away with his foot, leaving no traces, and thus wouldn’t be discovered.
"What are you doing?" Jing Changle squatted beside him and asked.
Drawing while speaking, Luo Yirui said, "You wouldn’t understand even if I told you. Once I succeed, we’ll escape together."
Jing Changle pouted. Could it really be that smooth?
Luo Yirui had already thought it through: without Yellow Talisman, he’d use his clothes as a substitute, and without a pen, he’d use his bitten fingertip instead.
Uncle Xun had told him a story before, saying that his mom used to do this, and it was fine!
One day passed, then two, then three. Depending on the talismanic water provided by these people to replenish his energy and blood, Luo Yirui showed no signs of fatigue and remained full of spirit even after three days.
Not only him, but Jing Changle and the other children were the sa.
However, Luo Yirui was very frustrated; even though he rembered the talisman firmly, drawing it felt like it lost its original essence, looking quite different from the image in his mind.
This made Luo Yirui anxious and frustrated, but fortunately, by the fourth day, his drawings finally resembled a decent talisman. He planned to tear his clothes and bite his finger to perform Spiritual Talisman!
However, he was not given the chance. Two burly n ca to their door with buckets, pointed at him and Jing Changle, and said, "You two, drink these two bowls and co with us."
Luo Yirui’s face changed drastically, and Jing Changle turned pale. According to what they had learned, it was supposed to be tomorrow at the earliest!
Luo Yirui glanced at the bucket of talismanic water. It was the sa as the one given to the two other children!
His heart was pounding fiercely, thinking of how not to drink the talismanic water, but then two n unlocked the iron bars and ca in, each holding their jaws and forcing them to drink from the bowls.
Luo Yirui’s eyes widened. As the talismanic water went down his throat, he knew it wasn’t right. This certainly wasn’t talismanic water that was good for the body!
After they finished pouring it down, the two n directly carried Luo Yirui and Jing Changle outside.
The other children watched, fear-stricken, curling up in the corner without daring to move. Although these people would usually speak loudly, they had never been this rough, and a hint of panic was clearly visible on their faces.
"The ti is too short. The others haven’t been properly nurtured yet, but thankfully there are two in good condition. Those people are too ferocious. If we’re later, we won’t be able to withstand them."
"Yeah, if those Ghost Doctors lose, we’ll be in trouble too."
The two n carried the two children and ran up all the way.
Luo Yirui’s heart was trembling when he heard them; they were indeed planning to harm them!
anwhile, he carefully sensed the changes in his body. The talismanic water seed to accelerate his blood circulation, but no further side effects were apparent.
Soon he and Jing Changle left the basent. Looking around, it was clear they were in a small building. The two n carrying them went straight to the third floor and then put them into a room.
The room was enclosed without any windows. The dim lighting from above was faint, and inside there were two platforms with crosses and chains on them, resembling a torture chamber.
Upon entering, Luo Yirui and Jing Changle’s legs imdiately went weak, their noses filled with the thick scent of blood, and everywhere they looked was blood red!
The room was covered in fresh blood, especially around the crosses. Below the platform with the cross was a copper basin with rippling bright red liquid, clearly blood needing no further inspection!
Strangely, despite the repulsion of the scene, their heart rates weren’t increasing dramatically, which led Luo Yirui to realize sothing.
The talismanic water they drank had a calming effect, ensuring they wouldn’t faint from fear?
"Hurry, tie them up and draw blood imdiately, or there won’t be enough bad water!"
The doctor in a blood-stained white coat frowned as he spoke, not even sparing a glance at Luo Yirui and Jing Changle. In his eyes, they weren’t even human anymore.
Jing Changle’s legs gave out, collapsing to the ground, scared stiff though not unconscious.
Luo Yirui’s legs also trembled. Scanning with his eyes, he spotted Yellow Talisman and a pen beside the doctor!
