They were engrossed in their discussion and didn’t notice a mischievous little figure creeping into the wing where Shi Guang was located.
Luo Yiqian quietly closed the door and then ran to the window to peek outside. Today, it was rare for their uncle to play hide-and-seek with them; she must hide well to avoid being found!
The loser had to pay a price, and that was the popping candy she worked hard to get. Their mom didn’t allow them to eat too much candy, but popping candy was so delicious, it jumps in your mouth!
Luo Yiqian heard footsteps, giggled quietly and turned to find a place to hide. At this turn, she noticed that soone was lying on the bed!
The little girl was startled and stepped back several tis till she hit the wall. Then she noticed that the person seed ill, as there was cold sweat on his face and he was muttering in his sleep.
Luo Yiqian approached, saw that person’s pale complexion, only his cheeks had a fiery red color, and whispered: "Got a fever."
Like her siblings, she had been exposed to the fundantal knowledge and trials of the Mystic Doctor from a young age. Perhaps they only knew addition and subtraction and not multiplication or division, but they could recognize so symptoms.
But that’s just theoretical knowledge; upon seeing that this patient wasn’t being watched, Luo Yiqian’s eyes twinkled.
She was the most mischievous of the triplets, coming up with all sorts of quirky ideas. Although the second sister Luo Yixuan was extrely smart, she only listened to the third one when it ca to such ideas.
Luo Yiqian always wanted to play doctor. Every ti they played house, it was her sister and brother playing doctors, claiming her skills were not yet enough. But recently, her brother stopped playing house with them, saying he’s grown and is now a real doctor!
She lay on the bed thinking, then earnestly took Shi Guang’s wrist and started pretending to check his pulse...
"Hmm, pulse is stable... No, no, the pulse is chaotic... Still incorrect, why does it feel so weak?" Luo Yiqian wanted to use so special professional terms but quickly realized this big brother’s pulse was really weak, like he could die at any mont.
This was just a test and it made Luo Yiqian really feel sothing. She suddenly got excited; yes, she could also be a real doctor!
Suddenly, she rembered a scene where her mother treated a patient, extracting a drop of blood and dripping it into water to observe the blood’s changes.
She looked at the glass on the table. There was half a cup of clear water in it, ant for the patient. She went to the table, stretched her arm to take the glass, then trotted back to Shi Guang’s bed and pinched one of his fingers.
Afterwards, she hesitated; how could she break his finger skin? Going out to find a needle might get her discovered, which ant she wouldn’t get to play doctor. If her brother could be a doctor, so could she!
Luo Yiqian was not very convinced; her brother was born just a little earlier than her, yet people said he was more mature than her and her sister!
In the minds of young ones, maturity ans being grown-up. Saying Luo Yirui is mature was like saying he was an adult, which made the younger ones, even Luo Yixuan, sowhat indignant.
Luo Yiqian was intelligent—or, rather, full of quirky ideas. She didn’t go out to find a needle but chipped a corner off the glass and used the shards on the floor to cut Shi Guang’s finger.
Shi Guang’s finger issued a bright red drop of blood, which fell into Luo Yiqian’s glass. Then she began observing the change of the blood seriously.
One minute passed...
Three minutes passed...
Five minutes passed...
The blood scattered in the glass, spreading a faint red hue, then... there was no more.
Luo Yiqian pouted, wondering why that sa act worked for her mom but not for her?
At this mont, she suddenly recalled, maybe the difference wasn’t in action but in the water used—her mother might have used talismanic water instead of clear water!
Thinking of this, Luo Yiqian decided to verify it. She pursed her lips, hesitated for a mont with the glass shard, then pierced her own finger.
Doing this made her a bit anxious because her family never allowed her and her sister to bleed, and if mom knew she did it on purpose, she would certainly be beaten!
No one was around, well, the unconscious big brother wouldn’t reveal, so that didn’t count; eager to prove herself, she dripped her own blood in the water.
If her blood also showed no reaction in clear water, it ant it must be the water’s fault.
We have to admit, the minds of these three children were more mature than average kids. Even though Luo Yiqian was five, she was already capable of basic logical reasoning, though not as sharp as Luo Yirui.
Luo Yiqian believed her guess was correct, therefore she didn’t have any defense for the upcoming change.
When her blood dripped into the glass, it instantly spread throughout. Bubbles started erging quickly, the glass looked like it was boiling, though it wasn’t hot.
Luo Yiqian was startled and cried out, releasing her hand as the glass fell to the ground, shattering with a smash.
Water was splattered on the floor, yet the bubbling scene didn’t stop and continued on the floor.
At this mont, the door was pushed open with a bang. Luo Yirui stood at the entrance, surprised by the sight and hurried forward to pull Luo Yiqian to his side, away from the ’boiled’ water.
He noticed, and of course, the adults did too. When Beisitian and the others rushed in, Luo Yiqian was hiding behind her brother with teary eyes.
She wasn’t afraid of the water but feared her mom. Was she going to be punished?
Although dad was sotis stern, she and her sister were not afraid of him besides Luo Yirui, but mom was different; she truly punished them!
Beisitian pushed in the door and imdiately slled the faint tallic scent in the air. This scent was extrely familiar to her, as she often extracted so for experintation, so...
"Luo Yiqian!" Beisitian spoke to Luo Yiqian one syllable at a ti as she walked toward her.
Luo Yiqian’s lips began to tremble and she was about to cry. Beisitian reached her, first checked her for injuries, then quickly slapped her little behind!
Though it didn’t hurt, Luo Yiqian burst into sobs, because her mother was so scary at this mont!
