The car drove all the way out of the mountains. It had taken Beisitian two days and one night to travel this road the first ti, finally finding that little mountain village on foot, and now she was just being driven out like this.
The driver didn’t say a word the whole way; only the two thugs occasionally exchanged a few sentences. Beisitian paid close attention and realized that if she couldn’t sense the ebb and flow of their spirit, she would never have noticed the hierarchy between the three of them.
Maybe because Beisitian had been too quiet after getting in the car, the driver glanced back at her twice through the rearview mirror.

Seeing the fear appear on Beisitian’s face, the thug snorted in satisfaction, turned back around, opened the car door, and got out.
The other thug reached in and yanked Beisitian out. The three of them sandwiched her in the middle and headed toward the house.
The afterglow of the setting sun still lingered. This was pri ti for villagers and tourists to be out and about. A bonfire had already been set up in the open space in the middle of the village, with many villagers and outside tourists gathered around it.
Singing, dancing, laughter, and cheers—completely opposite to the mood on Beisitian’s side.
The three from Qing Yan ignored the lively scene over there, completely unmoved. Who knew whether they’d just seen this sort of scene too many tis, or they simply weren’t interested.
Just as Beisitian paused to look over there, another Jeep of the sa model drove in.
Beisitian froze when she saw it, then her gaze dropped to the license plate—sa number. It was the car that had been traveling with them before!
So they’d picked up the person they were supposed to?
Beisitian tried to peer through the dark-tinted windows, but she couldn’t see a thing.
