Zhao Ke snuck into the 401 girls' dormitory that night. It was already deep into the night, and Liang Yue was still quietly working on competition problems by herself.

In the midst of the silence, a sudden scream ca from next door, followed by a commotion that interrupted her thoughts.

Liang Yue frowned, found her earphones in the drawer, and was about to put them on to block out the noise with music. Just then, she heard a sinister laugh coming from next door, which seed to be from a boy.

A boy? How could there be a boy in a girls' dormitory?

Liang Yue froze for a mont, a strong sense of curiosity surging up, making her completely lose the mood to study for a while.

She quietly listened to the sounds from next door. In the next ten minutes or so, she experienced unexpected fear.

Malicious laughter ca from next door, mixed with an eerie aura that almost penetrated the wall. The dormitory lights flickered non-stop, affected by so strange force.

The girls in dormitory 401 started cursing angrily. In their conversation, Liang Yue heard Zhao Ke's na.

She knew that boy, the one rumored to be possessed by ghosts and monsters, the one whose enemies would inexplicably encounter misfortune.

"Shut up, all of you! Lin Yiqi doesn't like , no matter how you look at it, it's your fault. It's all because you've been saying bad things about around her. I'll make you pay the price!"

The boy, suspected to be Zhao Ke, roared. Soon, the girls started screaming in terror.

"What is that thing!?"

"No, don't! I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"

"Ghost... Zhao Ke, you... Help! Soone save us!"

Then the screams gradually turned into pleas, and finally, the pleas also weakened, leaving only painful groans.

Liang Yue listened like this, trembling, a hellish scene interwoven in her mind. It was a one-sided, unresisting abuse and humiliation.

She was very scared because she knew that just across the wall, in the next room, stood a terrifying devil.

This has nothing to do with . I just need to pretend I don't know anything. She comforted herself, thinking. Just then, a knock on the door suddenly sounded.

"Knock, knock, knock—knock, knock, knock—!"

"Open the door! Is anyone in there?" Along with the violent and urgent knocking, soone outside the door was shouting hysterically, "Please let in! He, he's not a person at all, he's a devil, he wants to kill ! Please!"

"Knock, knock, knock—knock, knock, knock—!"

The knocking continued. Liang Yue held her breath, not daring to make a sound, until a door opening sound was heard in the dormitory next door. The girl outside the door ran away, panting, and the knocking stopped abruptly.

As that girl ran far away, Liang Yue actually felt a subtle surge of vengeful pleasure and schadenfreude in her heart.

Yes, that girl had also been part of the group that isolated her.

A chilling wind blew in from outside the window, making the curtains sway. The wind seed to carry ghostly whispers.

Liang Yue suddenly felt that sothing terrifying had co out of the dormitory next door. Although she couldn't see it, she felt it.

That thing was like a collection of chaos and distortion, emitting an unsettling aura, not at all like a human.

It was standing outside the door at that mont, quietly staring at the door of dormitory 402. Its malicious gaze seed to penetrate the door and land on her, like a brush with barbs, roving back and forth over her body.

After waiting in terror for a mont, that unsettling feeling gradually faded like a receding tide.

After a long ti, Liang Yue slowly let out a breath of cold air. She knew that the non-human entity had left.

...

Liang Yue had thought that as long as she pretended she hadn't heard anything, hadn't discovered anything, as if she hadn't been in the dormitory that night at all, the matter would end there.

Until...

The next night, at the sa ti, the knocking sound rang out again.

"Knock, knock, knock—knock, knock, knock—!"

Under the dark night, the knocking continued. A cold aura perated the dormitory. Outside the door, it was as if a ghost stood, wanting her to experience the pain it had experienced.

Liang Yue suffered in fear and guilt. After an unknown amount of ti, she finally let out a terrified scream.

"You, what exactly do you want! I wasn't the one who killed you!"

There was no response from outside the door. The knocking continued, tornting Liang Yue's nerves until dawn.

...

Later on.

Liang Yue had thought that joining Lin Yiqi's plan would appease the girl's resentnt.

However, at the last mont before raising the butcher's knife, she rembered the non-human entity that had lingered outside her dormitory door that night. Fear arose in her heart, and she chose to flee.

From then on, she had been on the run, moving out of the dormitory, transferring schools, and even finding ways to make her parents move.

During this process, she heard that many strange things had happened at Shihekou Middle School. She heard that Zhao Ke had disappeared. She heard that Shihekou Middle School had been sealed off. She heard...

But the knocking sound was still there. No matter where she fled, the knocking would always sound again late at night, not long after.

No one else could hear it. Only she herself could hear it...

She had been quietly thinking of ways to solve this problem that had plagued her for years, joining many small groups related to urban legend.

Until one day, in a certain chat group, she saw soone with the ID Pharaoh ntion the na Shihekou Middle School.

She hesitated for a long ti but still sent a friend request to Pharaoh.

...

【Pharaoh has accepted your friend request】

21:30 Pharaoh: "?"

21:32 Liang Yue: "I advise you not to go. That school is very dangerous."

21:33 Pharaoh: "Do you know sothing?"

21:34 Liang Yue: "I know so things, but they are all things I've heard."

21:35 Pharaoh: "I also know so things and am troubled by them. This trip is to find a way to solve them. Do you want to co with us?"

04:16 Liang Yue: "Okay, I'll go with you."

...

eting the na Shihekou Middle School again, Liang Yue chose to face the past and stop running away.

She thought this was the last way to break free from her predicant, but...

At the last mont of her life.

She stood on the edge of the teaching building's rooftop ◆ Nоvеlіgһt ◆ (Only on Nоvеlіgһt) and saw the girl who had once lived next door to her.

That girl was wearing a soaked school uniform, her hair was ssy, and her face was the ghastly pale color of dead pork.

There were no wounds on her body, and her face wasn't distorted, but her bloodshot Eyeballs were wide and round, as if they could pop out at any mont.

"It's useless. He won't let us go. From the mont we stepped into this campus, he's been watching us... We... We... Hehehe..."

We can never escape.

Liang Yue thought, watching Yun ng transform into the appearance of that girl, walking over step by step, reaching out, and pushing her down.

Her body kept falling. The feeling of weightlessness made her feel dizzy, but a smile of relief appeared on her face.
