“Sorry, Sixth Sister,” Qiu Qianwei said with a mischievous grin as she flopped onto the sofa. “You were smiling while texting just now, so I figured you must be chatting with your boyfriend. I couldn’t help teasing you. Won’t happen again!”

Ji Shuiyao blinked in surprise. “Was I smiling?”

Qiu Qianwei nodded eagerly, a playful glint in her eye. “You were! And that’s saying sothing, considering how serious and stoic you usually are. The mont you start talking about romance, your whole expression softens. You were totally wearing that girlish look.”

Caught off guard, Ji Shuiyao felt her heart skip, then quickly defended herself. “You’ve misunderstood. I’m really not in a relationship.”

“Oh, co on,” Qiu Qianwei teased. “Even if you’re not dating him yet, you definitely like him, right? Otherwise, you — the queen of scientific rationality — wouldn’t be grinning at your phone like that.”

Ji Shuiyao opened her mouth but had no real retort. After a pause, she admitted quietly, “…I do like him. But we’re not a good match.”

Hearing her soften, Qiu Qianwei scooted closer, eyes full of concern. “Why not? What’s the problem between you two?”

“It just wouldn’t work out.” Ji Shuiyao’s voice was firm, unwilling to elaborate.

Qiu Qianwei frowned in thought. Then her eyes widened. “Wait… Sixth Sister, don’t tell … he’s married?”

Startled, Ji Shuiyao shook her head quickly. “No, not married. He just has a girlfriend.”

Qiu Qianwei breathed a sigh of relief. “Oh, that’s all? Just a girlfriend? That’s not a deal-breaker. If you really like him, go after him and win him over!”

Ji Shuiyao looked at her in disbelief. “That’s… that’s completely unethical! I could never do sothing like that.”

Qiu Qianwei shrugged dramatically. “If that’s the case, then you should probably let go sooner rather than later. Otherwise, you’ll just end up hurting yourself.”

A trace of lancholy surfaced in Ji Shuiyao’s eyes. She looked at Qiu Qianwei seriously and said, “I’ve tried. Many tis. But I just… I can’t.”

Qiu Qianwei leaned back, brows furrowed. “Then chase him. If you can’t forget him, then chase him. Love is inherently selfish — if you like him, go get him!”

Her words left Ji Shuiyao feeling uneasy. After a long silence, she finally whispered, “Let’s not. It wouldn’t work.”

“Why not?” Qiu Qianwei asked, baffled. “You’re so beautiful, Sixth Sister. Chasing a guy should be easy for you!”

Ji Shuiyao repeated firmly, “It wouldn’t work.”

“His girlfriend must be super beautiful too, huh?”

Ji Shuiyao nodded almost without thinking. “Mm. She’s beautiful… just like you, actually.”

That stunned Qiu Qianwei. She blinked, digesting the complint, then fell into thought. As sisters, of course she wanted to help her Sixth Sister out.

After a long pause, she suddenly sat up with a straight face. “Then how about this? Since you don’t want to ruin their relationship, maybe try talking to the girlfriend. See if she’s open to sharing the boyfriend. You could be co-girlfriends!”

Ji Shuiyao stared at her, dumbfounded. “Is… is that even a thing?”

But even Qiu Qianwei shook her head a second later. “Actually, no, that’s not right. That’d be too unfair to you.”

If you didn’t mind sharing, I wouldn’t feel wronged at all… Ji Shuiyao wanted to say those words, but she couldn’t bring herself to speak them aloud. They were too shaless, too humiliating.

The topic fizzled out after that. Qiu Qianwei, seeing that nothing could be resolved, didn’t know what more to say.

At that mont, Liu Yue strolled over, fresh from posting her daily market analysis. She held up her phone and waved it in front of her two sisters.

“Sixth, Seventh — buy these two stocks tomorrow. Guaranteed profit!”

Ji Shuiyao blinked in confusion. “Fifth Sister, didn’t you used to say that the market is unpredictable, and even the best analysis can’t promise a guaranteed win?”

Liu Yue bead with unshakable confidence. “Sotis there are exceptions. I’ve got guidance from a true expert this ti. He said it’s a sure thing, and if you lose, I’ll cover your losses personally.”

Now both sisters were intrigued.

“What expert?” Ji Shuiyao asked.

“Yeah,” Qiu Qianwei chid in. “Who is it?”

They hadn’t been following Weibo lately, so they didn’t know the storm that had erupted online.

Liu Yue simply grinned. “A master is a master. The wealth code’s already in your hands. Whether you buy or not is up to you.”

And with that, she went off to get ready for bed.

Ji Shuiyao and Qiu Qianwei exchanged a look.

Their Fifth Sister was acting strange tonight… but they trusted her.

Both quietly made up their minds to buy the two stocks Liu Yue recomnded as soon as the market opened the next day.

Ji Shuiyao just wanted to make a little money for her research fund.

Qiu Qianwei, on the other hand, had sothing more extravagant in mind — a grand gift for Wang Haoran.

She composed a ssage on her phone:

“I’ll buy you a supercar worth over ten million. Pick whatever you like and let know.”

In his dorm room, Wang Haoran stared at the ssage, stunned.

“You’re joking, right?” he replied.

Qiu Qianwei’s response ca instantly. “I have over a billion in assets. I can easily afford it. Go ahead and pick your supercar.”

Wang Haoran replied with a cheeky grin. “Wow, rich lady, you’ve got money. Can you spare so for ?”

It was a joke — or at least, it started that way.

But Qiu Qianwei took it seriously. “Sure. How much do you want?”

Amused, Wang Haoran replied, “Can I have all of it?”

Again, he was teasing.

But her next ssage almost made him choke.

“I still need a little to live on. I’ll go check my assets. How about this — I’ll keep fifty million for myself, and you can have the rest.”

Wang Haoran stared at her reply and couldn’t help sighing inwardly.

A 95 favorability rating really wasn’t just a number. This woman… she actually ant what she said?

Good thing I’m not so scumbag, he thought. Otherwise, she’d probably let sell her off and thank for it.

He sobered, then typed a more grounded reply.

“What would I even do with that much money? I was just joking. As for the supercar — my family’s already ordered a Bugatti Veyron for . Should arrive tomorrow. Price tag: fifty million.”

That reply gave Qiu Qianwei pause. Her heart skipped slightly as a new realization dawned.

She hadn’t known much about Wang Haoran’s background, but this? This made it clear.

He was no ordinary rich kid.

No wonder he looked so refined, carried himself with such grace… He wasn’t just handso. He was born to be a noble young master.

Qiu Qianwei quickly replied, “So the car’s handled. Then I’ll gift you sothing else. Tell what you want.”

Wang Haoran: “You.”
