Now reading: Chapter 369: Yan Yuntian’s Unsettled Heart from I Became the Rich Second-Generation Villain, a Comedy novel by Three Times Three Equal Nine.

When Yan Feipeng spoke, Yan Yuntian froze for a mont before realization dawned. “Mother contacted you, didn’t she?” he asked.

“Yes,” his father sighed. “Right after we finished talking, she called . She told to stop suppressing the Wang Group imdiately and to compensate them in full for their losses—tens of billions.”

“You agreed to that?” Yan Yuntian said, his voice rising in disbelief.

“I was afraid she’d get angry, so of course I agreed,” Yan Feipeng replied bitterly.

Hearing his father’s words, Yan Yuntian’s expression darkened. He guessed that Feng Xuansu must have gone to his mother, said sothing persuasive, and made her intervene.

Rage welled up inside him.

“Father, you’re her husband! You’re far closer to her than Aunt Xuansu is. Why would you just give in? Would Mother really turn against you over my aunt?”

“I don’t want to upset A’rao,” Yan Feipeng said weakly. “And besides, if I go against her wishes, the next ti I see her, I’ll be the one suffering.”

His tone was submissive and fearful, utterly devoid of the authority one would expect from the head of a multi-billion conglorate.

“Father, you’re pathetic,” Yan Yuntian said angrily.

“If you think you’ve got guts, then go tell your mother yourself,” Yan Feipeng snapped. “As for , I’m not stupid enough to provoke her.”

Yan Yuntian hung up in fury and imdiately called his mother, Feng Rao.

As soon as she answered, his voice erupted through the receiver, dripping with resentnt. “Mother, what did Aunt Xuansu say to you? How could you actually listen to her and tell Father to stop suppressing the Wang Group?”

Caught off guard, Feng Rao’s heart skipped a beat. She didn’t have a proper excuse prepared, but when she heard his question, she seized the opportunity to redirect the topic. “You should know your aunt’s background and connections. We can’t afford to make things too tense with her, do you understand?”

“So that’s it? You’d rather care about her feelings than your own son’s? You’d let swallow my anger just like that?” Yan Yuntian shouted, his frustration boiling over.

“What exactly did this Wang Haoran do to you?” Feng Rao asked, sensing his agitation and growing curious.

“He…” Yan Yuntian wanted to blurt it out but stopped himself, his pride keeping him silent. “It’s complicated,” he said instead, his tone low and tense. “But what I can tell you is that he and I are mortal enemies.”

Feng Rao’s brows furrowed tightly. Her voice turned cold. “Then let make this clear to you: you are not to touch Wang Haoran or anyone from the Wang family. Not a single one of them.”

Yan Yuntian stood stunned for several seconds before anger and disbelief burst out. “What did my aunt feed you to make you so obedient to her?”

Feng Rao didn’t answer his question. “What I said wasn’t a discussion—it was an order. I have other matters to attend to. This conversation is over.”

And with that, she hung up.

The mont the call ended, she heard a loud crash from the other end—Yan Yuntian had clearly smashed his phone in fury.

Feng Rao sighed softly. It wasn’t that she didn’t care about her son’s feelings, but she was far too eager to please soone else now. To win that man’s favor, she could only wrong her own son.

She returned to the hall where Wang Haoran waited. “The trouble with your family has been resolved,” she said gently. “Your group’s losses will be compensated.”

“That fast? How could that be possible?”

Of course, Wang Haoran already knew the outco, but to avoid suspicion, he feigned disbelief.

“You’ll see for yourself soon enough,” Feng Rao said seriously.

He nodded with a half-relieved, half-grateful expression, playing the part perfectly. “I’ve heard people say the prayers at Fengxi Terrace are effective. Looks like that might actually be true.”

“Fengxi Mountain is full of spiritual energy and beautiful scenery,” Feng Rao said warmly. “Since you’ve co all this way, I’ll be your guide. Let show you around.”

“Then I’ll trouble you for that,” he replied politely.

He would’ve preferred to leave now that everything was taken care of, but doing so might have seed suspicious. So he smiled and went along.

“You’re still being polite with ?” Feng Rao teased, her charming eyes glinting.

She disguised her appearance before taking him around the mountain. Together they visited several scenic spots, wandering through quiet paths and misty hillsides. On more than one occasion, Feng Rao led him to secluded areas where she dropped subtle hints, her tone and gaze laced with suggestion.

Wang Haoran, however, acted completely oblivious, responding with innocent restraint.

Though she wasn’t shaless enough to push further, the lack of reaction left her secretly frustrated and disappointed.

By afternoon, Wang Haoran suggested returning. Feng Rao hesitated, reluctant to part ways, but she knew her status made it inappropriate to keep him any longer.

With visible reluctance, she said goodbye.

Before he left, she exchanged contact details with him and told him to reach out whenever he had ti. Wang Haoran smiled warmly, agreeing readily before boarding a car to the airport.

That night, he was already back in Qingling.

——

anwhile, Yan Yuntian had spent the entire day locked in his room, stewing in anger since that morning’s phone call.

As dusk settled, he finally erged, still burning with resentnt.

He imdiately summoned Yun Xuan.

“Investigate the people around Wang Haoran,” he ordered coldly. “Find out if he has anyone especially close to him—friends, brothers, a girlfriend, anyone important.”

His mother’s warning had been clear: he couldn’t touch the Wang family. But she didn’t say anything about the people around Wang Haoran.

If he couldn’t strike at the source, he’d settle for tearing down what the man cared about most.

“But we’re already targeting the Wang Group,” Yun Xuan said carefully. “Why go after his people too?”

Though she masked it well, her heart clenched in unease.

“If that had worked, I wouldn’t need another plan,” Yan Yuntian said irritably.

“I understand. I’ll look into it,” Yun Xuan replied, bowing slightly before excusing herself.

Once she was out of sight, she imdiately moved to a quiet corner and made a call.

Wang Haoran had just gotten off his flight when he saw her na flash across his screen. He answered at once.

“My Lord,” Yun Xuan reported quickly, “Yan Yuntian has changed his approach. He’s ordered to investigate your close friends and any won around you. He plans to strike at them to get to you.”

Wang Haoran chuckled coldly. “Again?”

Yan Yuntian never learned. He tried to destroy the Wang Group and ended up losing his own mother’s support. And now he was at it again?

What else did he plan to lose this ti?

Amusent flickered in Wang Haoran’s eyes, but he couldn’t yet think of the best way to handle it.

“Since he told you to investigate, that gives you ti,” he said finally. “Keep him calm for now. I’ll figure out the next step.”

“Yes, My Lord,” Yun Xuan replied.

The call ended. But before Wang Haoran could pocket his phone, another call ca through.

The screen displayed a familiar na—Yu Shiqing.
