There were indeed horses walking toward the water source, but they were not ordinary horses.

Roxanna’s eyes widened in shock as she looked at them. The group of horses was almost three tis bigger than the ones in her old world. Their bodies were tall and strong, and every step they took made the ground feel heavy.

She couldn’t help but rember sothing she had heard before. There was a theory that said when a planet had more oxygen, the animals living on it would grow bigger than usual.

It seed that the theory was true, because every ti Calen brought back hunted prey, the animals were always huge. Even the bugs crawling on her legs were huge, making her feel both disgusted and annoyed.

"T-They’re too big..." Roxanna whispered as the horses slowly ca closer. She grabbed Luan’s arm without realizing it. "Can we really control them if they’re this big?" she asked nervously.

"Well, why don’t we just try?" Luan said calmly as he slowly stood up. He gently removed her hand from his arm and stepped forward. "Stay here," he added softly. "Don’t make any sudden moves."

Luan moved silently through the tall grass. He lowered his body and walked slowly, just like a hunter stalking prey. The horses were still drinking from the stream, unaware of his presence. Their ears twitched from ti to ti, and their tails swayed lightly.

If Luan made even one wrong move, the horses would imdiately run away. He knew that, so he didn’t rush.

When he was close enough, he slowly reached into his pocket and took out a small pouch. Inside were dried herbs.

Roxanna frowned and narrowed her eyes in confusion because she really didn’t understand what Luan was planning to do with those dried herbs.

"What is he doing...?" she whispered.

"The herbs can help animals relax," Cyrus explained in a low voice. As he spoke, he gently pulled Roxanna down and guided her behind a nearby rock.

"Hide here," he said softly. "If they see us, they might get scared and run."

Roxanna quickly nodded and crouched down. From behind the rock, she carefully peeked out.

"Of course, dried herbs won’t work well on very wild beasts," Cyrus continued in a low voice. "But for horses? They work almost like magic."

Roxanna’s eyes widened a little. "Really?" she whispered.

Cyrus smiled. "Really."

Roxanna watched as Luan carefully placed the dried herbs on both of his palms. Then, little by little, he held his hands out toward the two calst horses near him.

"I won’t hurt you," he said softly. "I just want to ask for your help." His voice was gentle, almost like he was talking to another person.

Roxanna found it very interesting because Luan wasn’t treating the horses like animals. He was treating them like friends.

But when she thought about it, it made sense. After all, beastkins also had animal blood in them. Maybe that was why Luan could understand animals better than most people.

Maybe that was why animals trusted him.

Slowly, the two horses lowered their heads. They sniffed the dried herbs in his hands. Then, without fear, they gently touched his palms with their noses.

"It’s working..." Roxanna whispered, pressing her lips together as she tried hard not to clap in excitent.

Not long after that, she saw Luan bend down and whisper sothing softly to the horses. Then, he slowly led them toward her and Cyrus.

"See?" Luan said proudly with a small smile. "It’s easy to make friends with them."

He gently patted one of the horses. "We can ride them until we reach the foot of the mountain," he continued. "After that, we’ll have to walk all the way to the top."

Roxanna nodded as she listened.

According to the legend, only deer beastkins and people connected to healing could climb up, and they also had to walk on foot.

"Are you still tired?" Luan asked her.

Roxanna quickly shook her head. "No, not at all!" she replied with energy. "Let’s keep going. We might reach the foot of the mountain before sunrise."

She continued hesitantly. "But I can’t ride a horse."

She looked a little embarrassed. To be honest, she wasn’t even good at driving back in her old world. That was why she rarely used her car. She was always afraid of hurting soone, or herself.

She only drove when she really had no other choice.

Cyrus laughed softly when he saw the worried look on her face. "Don’t worry," he said gently. "You don’t have to ride alone. You can ride together with ."

"No way!" Luan suddenly protested. "I’m the one who tad these horses, so Roxanna should ride with ." His voice was firm, and his eyes were full of stubborn pride.

Before the two of them could start arguing again, Roxanna quickly stepped in. "Alright, alright," she said, raising her hands. "Let’s do this..."

She thought for a mont. "I’ll ride with Luan for two hours first. Then I’ll switch to Cyrus. After that, I’ll keep changing every two hours. Is that okay?"

Luan was about to protest, but he stopped imdiately when he heard Roxanna’s thoughts.

[If they keep arguing, I’ll just walk instead.]

Luan held his breath because he didn’t want his wife to get angry. He imdiately changed his expression and nodded quickly. "That sounds good," he said without hesitation.

Cyrus raised an eyebrow and smiled. "You gave in way too fast."

Luan cleared his throat. "I’m just being reasonable."

With that plan decided, they finally continued their journey.

Because they didn’t have reins, Luan and Cyrus guided the horses using only their bodies and legs. They leaned slightly in the direction they wanted to go and gently pressed with their feet.

Surprisingly, it worked very well. It even felt a little fun because there was a small thrill every ti the horse responded to their movents.

"If you get sleepy, you can rest," Luan said softly from behind her. He wrapped his arms around Roxanna, holding her carefully so she wouldn’t fall.

"You can turn into your fox form," he added gently. "It’ll be easier for you to sleep like that."
