But compared to blood that could give immortality, of course, people would choose to chase after the deer beastkins.

"People don’t like learning about things they don’t understand," Roxanna said softly. She took a deep breath. "But still... I’m glad they don’t see my blood as sothing too important."

After all, Loba and the evil Roxanna had rarely shown their abilities in public, so no one truly knew how powerful their healing was.

Roxanna then answered Elior’s earlier question. "Yes, even my blood couldn’t heal Calen, and it’s really strange."

"I see..." Elior lowered his head and stared at the ground for a mont, as if he were thinking about sothing very important. "If that’s the case," he said slowly, "then his condition really isn’t sothing that can be easily explained."

"Problems related to animal shifting can only be healed by the person themselves," he continued gently. "Because it is connected to their soul, and your blood cannot heal sothing that is tied to the soul."

Roxanna held her breath for a mont, and she couldn’t help but feel very afraid, because she didn’t want anything bad to happen to Calen.

"Then... what should I do?" she asked in a small voice. "How can I make him feel better?"

The smile on her face slowly disappeared. Her eyes beca wet and sad, so sad that Elior couldn’t bring himself to look at her for too long.

"Please," she whispered, "Calen is my precious husband. I really don’t want him to suffer anymore."

Calen had already suffered so much since he was young, and Roxanna didn’t want him to suffer anymore. But unfortunately, she had no idea how to make him feel better.

If only she still had the One Command skill, she could have used it to bring Elior to the Vixeria Tribe. But she had already used it on the Black Fang Tribe.

[I’m so stupid...] she thought sadly. [I should have thought more carefully before using sothing so precious. Now that I truly need it to save Calen, I’ve already lost my one-ti command.]

She wanted to keep blaming herself, but the mont she felt Cyrus squeeze her hand a little tighter, she imdiately ca back to her senses.

Even though her husband didn’t say a single word, that small squeeze of his hand was enough to give Roxanna strength. At least, it stopped her from blaming herself, and it reminded her that she wasn’t facing this alone.

"Listen, Miss Fo—I an, Roxanna," Elior said gently. "I really want to help you. I truly do, but I can’t let you take any of my people with you."

He paused for a mont, choosing his words carefully. "The outside world is too dangerous for us," he continued. "And even if you try to protect them, there’s no promise that the doctor you bring will be able to return safely to the Golden Mountain."

"Instead, I will try to find a way to heal your husband on your own." Elior then stood up. "I will discuss this with the elders first. In the anti, you may have dinner with the others."

Roxanna also stood up from her seat. Even though Elior’s answer wasn’t what she had hoped for, she couldn’t push him too much. If she did, they might lose the little trust they had gained, and that would be even worse.

"I understand," Roxanna said softly, forcing a small smile. "I hope you can give so advice on how to help my husband."

Elior only nodded in response, then walked away toward the elders’ living area, which seed to be quite far from where they were.

The mont Elior disappeared from sight, Roxanna lowered her head, and her shoulders slowly sank. "I’m sorry," she whispered.

"Why?" Cyrus and Luan stood up at once.

Cyrus gently placed his hand on her head and softly brushed her hair. "Why are you apologizing?" he asked.

Roxanna’s lips trembled slightly, and her eyes slowly filled with tears.

She didn’t even know where to begin. Was she sad? Frustrated? Tired? Maybe it was all of them at once. There were too many feelings crowding her heart, making it hard for her to breathe.

"I brought you to such a dangerous place," she said in a shaky voice. "But in the end... I couldn’t get what we ca here for."

Roxanna bit her lower lip, trying to stop herself from crying while other people were still nearby.

But no matter how hard she tried not to cry, tears still rolled down her cheeks. She quickly wiped them away with the back of her hand, but they kept falling nonstop, like water overflowing from a broken dam.

"I’m really sorry." She lowered her head even more and tried to speak as softly as possible. "I’ve failed all of you too many tis."

[My husbands have chosen to stay by my side, so I should try harder to protect them.] Roxanna said in her mind. [But why do I always end up becoming a burden to them?]

[I can’t even protect them by myself,] she continued. [Leon was right. I really was born useless.]

Leon?

Cyrus and Luan both looked at Roxanna in confusion. This was the first ti they had heard that na appear in her thoughts.

Could that be the na of her ex-husband?

Honestly, they were quite surprised, because she had never once ntioned his na before.

But putting that aside, how dare that stupid Leon say sothing like that to their wife?!

How dare he make her believe she was useless?!

At that mont, both of them silently decided one thing. If they ever t Leon, he would definitely regret it.

"Alright, co here," Cyrus said gently.

He took her hand and led her away from the people of the Golden Tribe, guiding her toward a quiet, winding path.

When they were finally out of sight, where no one else could see them, he pulled her into his arms without hesitation.

He held her tightly, protectively, and warmly.

"You have never failed us, my wife," he whispered near her ear. "You’ve always done your best."
