Satisfied, Roxanna turned with renewed energy. "I’ll inform my husbands so we can prepare to return to the Vixeria Tribe as soon as possible."

Before Elior could respond, Roxanna had already dashed out of the cave. Aelin, anwhile, rushed toward Elior.

Without hesitation, she wrapped her arms tightly around him. "Brother, you’re the best!" she said, her voice glowing with happiness. "I love you. I really, really do!"

Elior lifted a hand and gently patted her back, but his face remained painfully serious. "Co back safely, Aelin."

Outside the cave, Roxanna suddenly leapt forward and wrapped her arms around her husbands from behind.

She couldn’t even contain her excitent. "I did it!" she said, giggling, her voice bubbling with victory. "I finally convinced Leader Elior to let one of their great healers co with us!"

Luan was the first to turn toward her. "Really?!" His erald eyes looked at her with hope and surprise. "So... they’re finally willing to help Calen directly?"

Just as Roxanna had always believed, even though Luan constantly argued with Calen, he cared deeply about him. After all, they bickered like brothers, and it was only natural that they worried about each other like brothers too.

"Yes!" Roxanna nodded eagerly. "Do you rember Aelin? She’s Elior’s sister, and she’s coming with us!"

Cyrus and Luan stared at Roxanna in shock. But compared to Aelin’s family status, Cyrus was far more curious about the object in Roxanna’s hands.

"What’s that?" Cyrus asked. "Is it sothing useful for Calen? Sothing we need to burn or grow into dicine?"

Luan narrowed his eyes. "I’ve never seen a piece of wood shaped like that."

It was only natural for them to mistake the book for wood. The cover was brown and layered with thin bark, so from a distance it looked like a block of wood carved into a square.

[Should I tell them about my mother?] Roxanna wondered silently. [It might be too confusing for them. Besides... I’m not even completely sure yet that Michaela is truly my mother.]

Cyrus and Luan frowned. If Roxanna ca from another world, then wouldn’t her mother also be from another world?

Then what did that book have to do with her?

"This is a book," Roxanna explained at last. "Sothing we can use to write down the information we know, so our descendants can learn it more easily. That’s why, please don’t burn this book."

The crease on Luan’s forehead deepened. "Write?" he asked. "What is that?"

He tilted his head slightly. "If we want our descendants to know sothing, can’t we just pass the knowledge down by telling them?"

Roxanna nodded. "That’s true. But it isn’t very reliable." She gestured lightly with the book. "Over many years, even after just a few generations, information can change. It’s because misunderstandings happen, details get forgotten, or soone alters the story without aning to."

She continued, "To keep knowledge accurate, we must record it. By writing it down, preserving it, or storing it in another form."

The more Roxanna explained, the more confused her husbands looked. Finally, she sighed softly and simplified her words. "It’s a way for us to speak to our future generations, you know, like... magic."

That made Cyrus and Luan pause and then nodded slowly. They still looked puzzled, but now there was a flicker of understanding.

[If I explain my mother’s situation,] Roxanna sighed inwardly, [I’ll have to explain far too many modern concepts. That would be exhausting...]

Cyrus and Luan both glanced away at the sa ti, looking slightly guilty because they didn’t know much about Roxanna’s world.

[But that’s not their fault,] Roxanna reminded herself gently. [Even I didn’t understand any of this when I was young.]

Unfortunately, her caretakers had never been very good at explaining new knowledge to children.

Because of that, Roxanna made a silent vow this ti, she would be a better explanator!

She would beco soone who could explain, guide, and teach with patience.

[Besides... they’re my husbands, so isn’t it only natural for to tell them about my family?] Roxanna suddenly felt sowhat excited. [It actually sounds interesting.]

Back then, since Roxanna grew up in an orphanage, she didn’t truly have a family she could talk about. Or rather, sotis she felt embarrassed to admit that she ca from an orphanage.

No, it wasn’t that she wasn’t grateful for the people who had cared for and raised her. It was just that... so people often looked down on those who grew up in orphanages.

Sotis, they even openly assud that children from orphanages had no manners because they didn’t have parents to teach them.

It was rather ridiculous. After all, there were also plenty of children who lacked manners despite having both a father and a mother, but because of that stigma, Roxanna rarely spoke about the people from her orphanage to anyone else.

And sotis, Roxanna felt envious when she saw married couples introducing their families to one another.

All this ti, she believed she would never have that kind of opportunity. But now that she knew she had a mother—even if she still wasn’t completely certain—she could finally experience sothing she had once longed for.

[My husbands officially have a mother-in-law now!] Roxanna thought cheerfully. [Well... she’s gone now, but that’s not really important.]

The most important thing was that she had finally learned so information about her mother-in-law.

"So... what’s inside that book?" Cyrus finally asked.

Roxanna shrugged. "I don’t know yet, so... how about we open it together when we get back?" She added, "After Calen recovers, of course."

[If I’m going to talk about my mother, it would be better to explain it in front of all my husbands,] she thought.

Besides being more efficient, she also wanted to minimize the chance of any of her husbands feeling that she was playing favorites.

"We’ll read the book together, alright?" Roxanna asked.

Luan raised an eyebrow, and even though he didn’t say anything, Roxanna knew exactly what was confusing him.

She quickly added, "I’ll read the book to you!" she said cheerfully. "So bear with , because I’ll probably be talking for a loooong ti."

Instead of feeling intimidated, Cyrus and Luan found themselves thinking the sa thing: Listening to our wife’s voice for a long ti? They wouldn’t mind that at all!
