From an outsider’s point of view, Zeir might seem useless because he didn’t even try to comfort Roxanna with words. But for her... what he was doing right now was more than enough.

Sotis, when too many emotions were tangled inside her heart, all Roxanna wanted was a sense of calm. But at the sa ti, she didn’t want to feel alone.

That was why Zeir was perfect for her at this mont.

He didn’t say much, and he didn’t try to force any words either.

He simply stayed close, quietly holding her hand and giving it a gentle squeeze every few minutes, and sohow, that alone made her feel a little better.

"I’m okay now..." Roxanna let out a soft breath. She tried to smile at Zeir, even though it was small and a little shaky. "Let’s... read the next page."

[Maybe... if I read more of what my mom wrote, I’ll feel a little better,] she thought hopefully.

"Oh, this information is so useful," Roxanna said as she looked at the page. Her eyes were still a little wet, but there was now a faint sparkle in them. "And it’s so detailed!"

Zeir, who was still holding her hand, squeezed it gently and asked, "How so?"

Roxanna leaned a little closer to the book. "My mother wrote everything in such detail, even what kinds of plants I can grow at ho."

She flipped the page even though she was reading through the floating panel. "She even explained how to get seeds," she added, sounding a little amazed. "Like taking them from ripe fruits, drying them properly, and storing them so they can be used later."

It was actually simple knowledge, sothing Roxanna should have already known. But in this kind of world, even the simplest things mattered.

Since they were living in a primitive world, they had to do their best to record their knowledge, so the next generation wouldn’t grow up without knowing anything.

Roxanna then turned more pages, and the more she read, the more she realized that her mother did not write this book carelessly.

"This... this is more than just information," she said. "It’s like she’s leaving a path for to follow."

Her voice softened, but this ti, it wasn’t filled with sadness. "If I learn this properly, then I can teach others too," she continued. "And then they can pass it on again."

Roxanna turned another page, then another, her eyes widening slightly as she kept reading. "There’s... even more," she murmured.

Her finger moved along the lines as she spoke, "She also wrote about how to improve fertility, especially for the beast won."

Roxanna blinked, clearly not expecting that kind of information.

"She explained what kinds of food can help the body beco healthier, and what habits can make it easier for them to have children," she continued. "There are even notes about rest, emotions, and keeping the body strong."

Well, in the end, a woman’s hormones are always linked to her stress levels.

If they are too stressed, their body might think that the environnt is not suitable for having a baby, just like Roxanna, who had a very hard ti getting pregnant when she was still with Leon.

"Oh, damn it, she even wrote about how to please a woman!" Roxanna reflexively closed the book, her face turning red.

Talking about sex was one thing, but getting information about pleasure from her own mother was sothing else entirely.

Roxanna covered her face for a mont, her ears burning with embarrassnt. "This is... too much," she muttered under her breath.

"I-I didn’t expect this kind of information to be in here," she added, her voice a little shaky. "She really... wrote everything."

Her grip on the book tightened slightly, unsure whether she should keep reading or pretend that page never existed.

But at the sa ti, she couldn’t deny it.

This kind of knowledge might actually be useful.

Roxanna slowly lowered her hands from her face, still a little flustered. "A-Anyway... it’s still important information," she said, trying to sound calm even though her cheeks were still bright red.

"Maybe the book has more important information for our lives," she said, coughing a few tis to hide her awkwardness.

She then turned another page of the book, and another after another. At that mont, Roxanna really didn’t expect her mother to leave so much information like these.

Since this was only her first day reading the book, Roxanna decided to just skim through it for now. She would take her ti to go through all the details later.

As she kept turning the pages, sothing unexpected caught her attention.

"It looks like that magic flat thing of yours," Zeir said, tilting his head slightly.

Roxanna let out a small chuckle. "You an a picture?"

Zeir nodded, though he still looked unsure. "I think so."

The thing Roxanna found between the worn pages was a picture of her mother, Michaela.

Maybe she had placed it there on purpose or maybe it had been kept there all along, waiting for Roxanna to find it.

She took the picture carefully and realized that it was a strip of photos taken from a photobooth.

"Why is she alone?" Roxanna asked, though the question was more directed at herself.

Zeir asked, "What’s wrong with being alone?"

Roxanna tapped the picture a few tis before answering, "It’s just... usually, we go to photobooths with our friends or lovers, so... it feels a bit strange to see my mother take a picture there by herself."

[I even took pictures with Leon and Lisa in a photobooth, but my mother...]

[She was all alone.]

Honestly, comparing her life to her mother’s was pointless. Despite having a husband and a close friend, Roxanna was just as lonely as Michaela.

But what bothered her was that she had always thought her mother would be a social butterfly, since everyone in the Golden Tribe always said that Michaela had a very good relationship with their ancestors.

"What a pity..." Roxanna murmured. "If only I had co into this world earlier."

That way, she might have had a chance to fill the emptiness in her mother’s life.
