anwhile, as Xia Liang opened the door to his apartnt, Luu Qi and Xi Yiqian both looked over in pleasant surprise.
"I'm back," Xia Liang said with a smile.
"So you do know the way back," Luu Qi said, instantly putting her hands on her hips and glaring at him. "Going out to have fun without us."
"It was for work," Xia Liang replied, plopping down on the sofa.
"Work? More like being a con man," Luu Qi retorted, rolling her eyes. "You aren't going to leave again in just a few days, are you?"
"Nope!" Xia Liang shook his head. After a mont's thought, he added, "This job is finished. We'll see what tomorrow brings."
At that, Luu Qi simply rolled her eyes and fell silent. Xi Yiqian, however, asked, "Have you eaten?"
"Not yet," Xia Liang shook his head. Truthfully, I already ate with Qingxue after leaving the hospital, but I could eat a little more. No real reason, I just feel like it.
"Alright, I'll go make you a bowl of noodles then," Xi Yiqian said, getting up and heading to the kitchen.
A short while later, she returned with a steaming bowl of egg noodles. Xia Liang's appetite suddenly returned, and he devoured the entire bowl in no ti. The three of them then sat on the sofa, happily watching TV together. Around midnight, Xia Liang went back to his room.
As the clock struck twelve, the voice in his head sounded once again.

When Xia Liang woke up, Luu Qi had already left for school, and Xi Yiqian had gone to work.
Xia Liang left the house and drove straight onto the highway. He was on his way to see Tong Dongnuan. After a quick phone call, Xia Liang arrived at the milk tea shop where Tong Dongnuan worked.
"You're here!" The mont Tong Dongnuan saw him walk in, her eyes lit up with joy. She rushed over and threw her arms around him.
"Yeah." Xia Liang smiled, patting her on the head. "How have you been? Busy?"
"Not too bad," Tong Dongnuan giggled. "The busiest period is over."
"Perfect," Xia Liang nodded. "If you're free, let's go out and have so fun."
"Okay!" Tong Dongnuan agreed readily.
Xia Liang didn't give her a chance to overthink it, simply taking her hand and leading her out the door. Two hours later, the two of them arrived at the airport, now carrying a suitcase. Tong Dongnuan stared at the plane ticket in her hand, still completely baffled.
"You ant we're going on a trip?"
"Yep," Xia Liang nodded with a teasing grin. "You don't want to go?"
"Of course I do! It's just..." Clearly, she still hadn't processed the surprise. It was no wonder she was confused. She had thought 'going out for fun' just ant a day of shopping. And at first, it was. They bought so matching couple's outfits. But then, everything changed in an instant. He bought a suitcase, dragged her to the airport, and bought tickets to a tropical island.
"Well, there you go," Xia Liang said. "Besides, we've never really gone on a proper trip together."
"Yeah!" Tong Dongnuan nodded excitedly.
Xia Liang smiled. I've already taken Xi Yiqian and Luu Qi out to sea, and I'll have to take Qingxue ho to et Mom for the New Year. Only Tong Dongnuan and I haven't gone anywhere together. Plus, we haven't seen each other in two months. I should use this vacation to take her sowhere fun.
Soon, the flight began to board. Since they were both in first class, they bypassed the main queue.
As soon as they boarded the plane, Tong Dongnuan started to look sleepy. Two hours of shopping had worn her out. She let out a big yawn and said, "Xia Liang, I'm going to take a nap. Wake up when we're about to land, okay?"
"Go ahead, get so rest," Xia Liang said, gently pinching her cheek.
"Okay." Tong Dongnuan snuggled closer, holding onto his arm and resting her head on his shoulder before closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep.
Xia Liang watched her sleep. Her breathing was even, and every so often, she would smack her lips as if dreaming of sothing delicious. Her adorable expression completely captivated him.
But the peaceful mont didn't last. The sound of soone talking loudly on the phone nearby pulled Xia Liang from his reverie. He glanced over and saw that Tong Dongnuan hadn't woken up, though she frowned in her sleep.
Xia Liang turned to look at the source of the noise. It was an obese man with a receding, diterranean-style hairline. The man was shouting into his phone, completely oblivious to those around him.
Xia Liang couldn't help but lean over and say softly, "Sir, my girlfriend just fell asleep. Could you please lower your voice a bit?"
The man, already in a foul mood from arguing with the person on the phone, was in no state to be told what to do. He whipped his head around and snarled, "I'll fucking..."
Before he could finish his sentence, the man's voice died in his throat. He had just seen the look on Xia Liang's face.
Xia Liang's eyes were glacial, terrifyingly so. I tried to be polite, he thought, but since this guy is so eager to bring his mother into the conversation, I guess I'll have to make him shut up.
Confronted by Xia Liang's icy glare, the man involuntarily shivered as goosebumps erupted across his skin. He imdiately lost his nerve. Awkwardly, he turned back around and continued his phone call, but his voice was now barely a whisper. He kept sneaking glances back at Xia Liang.
Only then did Xia Liang close his eyes to rest once more.
