I Become The Richest Man With A monthly Salary of Twenty Thousand Yuan Chapter 693 - 483
「Ten minutes later.」
On the bungee platform, the safety harnesses were secured. Xia Liang and Tong Dongnuan faced each other.
"Scared?"
"Not scared."
Seeing Tong Dongnuan’s calm deanor, Xia Liang chuckled and then leaped, pulling her along with him.
From the waiting platform, Yun Xinya watched with a sense of helplessness. From start to finish, she hadn’t seen Xia Liang show the slightest bit of fear.
Is this guy really that unbelievable? Is there nothing he’s afraid of? I refuse to believe it!
Yun Xinya silently swore to herself that in the remaining three days, she would find sothing that scared him.
Ti flew by.
「Three days later.」
「At the airport.」
Tong Dongnuan waved to Yun Xinya.
"Sister Yun, you don’t have to see us off! You should head back. Co visit us next ti."
"Sure," Yun Xinya nodded. "If you want to have fun again, just co find ."
The trio waved goodbye. Yun Xinya watched the two depart, shaking her head. That Xia Liang was truly sothing else. Over the past three days, far from seeing him scared, he had seed omniscient and omnipotent. Swimming, diving, sailing... he excelled at everything. His knowledge and skills were completely disproportionate to his age.
「anwhile, after boarding the plane.」
Tong Dongnuan quickly fell asleep on Xia Liang’s arm. The relentless partying day and night for the past few days had left her physically and ntally exhausted.
This ti, the flight was uneventful, and they landed safely.
After staying at Tong Dongnuan’s place for two days, Xia Liang finally drove ho.
Upon his return, he didn’t go out again, simply lazing about at ho for more than ten days.
His next part-ti job task finally arrived on schedule.
[Ding—This month’s part-ti job has been loaded.]
[Occupation: Magician]
[Daily Task: The host must perform at least one show per day.]
[Days Completed: 0/60]
"A Magician?"
Xia Liang was sowhat surprised. He had tried to divine this beforehand, but just like when he tried to divine his own fate, he couldn’t get any answers.
He glanced at the Store; sleight of hand and other such tricks were completely useless to him.
What was that saying again? Use real magic, but call it a magic trick.
This part-ti job wasn’t difficult. The main issue was the definition of a ’show’.
Hmm, I’ll figure out what counts as a magic show tomorrow.
Having made up his mind, Xia Liang turned off the lights and went to sleep.
The next day, Xia Liang left the house after breakfast.
Arriving at the comrcial street, he looked around and spotted a middle-aged woman. Judging by her kindly expression, she seed like the cooperative type. So, Xia Liang chose her as his first audience mber, mainly to see if a one-on-one performance would count as a magic show.
"Excuse , ma’am, could I have a mont of your ti?" Xia Liang asked with a smile as he approached.
The woman saw that Xia Liang was handso and spoke pleasantly, so she nodded. "What is it?"
"I’d like to perform so magic for you. May I?"
"Magic?" The middle-aged woman was surprised. She had assud it was a sales pitch or soone trying to add her on social dia. "Of course, you can."
"Excellent. Then please, think of a number in your head," Xia Liang said with a smile.
"Any number?" the woman asked curiously.
The woman occasionally watched magic performances at ho, so she knew that Magicians usually set conditions when asking the audience to pick a number, like choosing an odd number between 1 and 100. But Xia Liang hadn’t given any rules, which she found strange.
"Yes, any number at all."
"Alright... I have one," the woman said, silently thinking of 1982, the year of her birth.
Xia Liang, of course, just perford a quick divination to get the answer. Using divination and passing it off as a Mind Reading Technique... I’m probably the only person in the world who would do that.
"Is it 1982? Am I right?" Xia Liang asked with a faint smile.
Upon hearing the number, the middle-aged woman’s face lit up with surprise. "Yes, that’s it! How did you know? That’s amazing!"
He glanced at the system task; it wasn’t complete. Does the audience need to be larger?
After so thought, Xia Liang politely bid the woman farewell and chose another audience mber nearby: a passing student.
"Hello there, could I have a mont? I’d like to perform so magic for you," Xia Liang said with a confident smile. The student, whether out of curiosity or so other reason, imdiately nodded in agreent.
This ti, Xia Liang didn’t bother with guessing numbers and moved on to sothing more advanced. "Please think of a na in your head, and I’ll guess it."
The student nodded and silently repeated a na to herself: Yang Cuihua. It was her mother’s na.
"I’ve got one," the student said.
"Alright, let try and guess what you’re thinking," Xia Liang said, smiling at her. "Is it... Yang Lan?"
Xia Liang deliberately gave the wrong na at first to build atmosphere and conceal the fact he could perform real magic. His current approach was designed to have a plausible flaw.
For example, with the Mind Reading Technique for guessing nas, a Magician might recite various surnas in front of the audience. Once the Magician hits upon the na the person is thinking of, the audience mber will subconsciously react, allowing the Magician to guess what’s on their mind. This is why guessing nas is typically perford by European Magicians—the Heavenly Dynasty has hundreds of surnas, making it far too difficult!
English nas, on the other hand, are more limited. A Magician only needs to recite the letters from A to Z. If the audience mber reacts when ’A’ is said, the na they’re thinking of is probably Anne, Angel, or Alice.
The student giggled and shook her head, indicating that it wasn’t Yang Lan.
