"Are you sure?" Sherly asked softly, her voice sounding unsure even though she tried to hide it.
Ethan gave a firm nod. He didn’t hesitate at all. He already knew which Class Advancent suited Sherly, and after the spar earlier, everything was more than clear to him.
In Ethan’s eyes, Sherly’s stamina and physical durability had too many weaknesses to fit the Paladin class.
She attacked to defend rather than withstand blows. Her body naturally wasn’t built for long, punishing battles where she had to beco an unbreakable shield.
Sherly lowered her gaze for a mont, letting Ethan’s words settle into her thoughts. If Ethan had said this, then she had no reason to doubt it.
He had always been direct, honest, and sharp with his judgnts. She slowly nodded, deciding to accept whatever path was waiting for her. She wasn’t afraid of the risks.
If Ethan told her that Magic Swordsman was the right choice, then she would pursue it with everything she had.
When the spar ended, Ethan turned to Hanss and thanked him directly. Hanss simply gave a small smile, wiping a bit of sweat from his forehead.
He didn’t seem bothered at all that he had been used as a test subject to asure Sherly’s potential. In fact, he looked relieved. Maybe he had been holding back more than anyone realized.
The newer mbers who had been watching quickly returned to their training, creating the usual clashing and shouting of the training field. Ethan and Sherly walked away from the area, leaving the sounds behind as they headed toward their next destination.
Their goal was straightforward. They needed to go to the city cathedral so Ethan could help Sherly secure the Magic Swordsman Class Advancent.
As they walked, Sherly glanced sideways at Ethan.
"What does it feel like to get a Class Advancent?" she asked, her voice filled with curiosity.
"To , it helped a lot," Ethan replied.
"Without Class Advancent, my attack patterns would be predictable."
"So skill sets also change when we take a Class Advancent?" Sherly asked.
"So do, so don’t. I’m not sure about Magic Swordsman. That class didn’t exist before."
Sherly nodded slightly, thinking through everything. The na of the class alone suggested a combat style that blended magic and swordsmanship.
Magic would handle the ranged or elental side of combat, while swordsmanship kept the physical aspect alive.
In Sherly’s current skill set, two out of her four skills already used INT scaling for magical attacks.
If she chose Magic Swordsman, she would probably need to replace her remaining skills with sothing more fitting.
She looked again at Ethan. Ethan had already chosen his Class Advancent, and to Sherly, his class seed incredibly cool.
Every ti he switched weapons, both his power and skills shifted in response. She wanted to be like that. She wanted to grow into soone as capable and versatile as Ethan.
"What’s your Class Advancent, Sir Ethan?" Sherly asked.
"? Omniblade."
"Does that class force you to use different weapons?" Sherly asked.
Ethan cleared his throat and began explaining. He described the requirents, the functions, and the complicated way Omniblade activated.
Sherly listened intently, and her eyes widened as he ntioned one particular condition. The class required weapons of Epic to Legendary level. She hadn’t known that detail before.
Sherly rembered Ethan’s victory in the Thousand Stars Event. He had earned a legendary weapon as part of the event rewards.
But she didn’t know where the second legendary sword ca from.
"So you have two legendary swords?" she asked. Ethan cleared his throat again, as if dodging the question.
"That’s amazing," Sherly said. "No wonder you reached this level."
Ethan only smiled and kept walking. He didn’t reply to her praise. Instead, he focused on the road ahead.
People were scattered around the street, most of them players, and many of them imdiately recognized him.
As they passed, people greeted Ethan with lively voices. So bowed their heads, others raised their hands in greeting, and a few whispered excitedly to each other.
Because Sherly walked beside Ethan, the attention of the crowd shifted toward her as well.
So players stared with curiosity, others tried to guess who she was, and a few simply smiled at her in acknowledgnt.
Sherly tried to stay calm, but she felt her heartbeat picking up. Walking beside Ethan felt like walking next to a celebrity.
Not long after, the cathedral building ca into sight. Its tall structure towered over the surrounding buildings.
People constantly moved in and out of the cathedral. Many players were there for prayers, healing, potion purchases, or their own Class Advancent attempts.
Sherly had seen the cathedral many tis from afar, but she rarely went inside. She only visited when she needed to pray or buy HP Potions, especially level 4 or 5.
Only the cathedral had the right to sell potions of that tier. She had even prayed there before, asking for safety and luck from God, even though she wasn’t sure if such prayers ant anything in a digital world.
The cathedral doors were open when they arrived. A line of players stretched toward the lobby, though it had shortened a lot since earlier.
So were there to pray, others wanted potions, and several waited for the Class Advancent guide.
Soon, Ethan and Sherly reached the front of the line. The receptionist at the front desk looked up and imdiately smiled when she recognized Ethan.
Her expression softened when she noticed Sherly as well.
"Welco to the City Cathedral. How may I assist you?" she asked.
"Yes. My friend wants to take a Class Advancent. Can you help us?" Ethan asked.
The receptionist turned toward Sherly, gave her a polite nod, then looked back at Ethan.
"Of course," she said.
She handed Sherly a paper form. The mont Sherly touched it, the form vanished and was replaced with a system panel.
Fortunately for her, she didn’t need to fill anything out. The system automatically processed her data.
According to the cathedral’s system, Sherly was the eighth person in line for Class Advancent.
One of the cathedral guides arrived and asked Sherly to follow him upstairs. Sherly nodded, and Ethan followed closely behind her.
"Will everything be okay?" Sherly whispered as they walked.
"It will," Ethan replied.
"Relax. Everything will go smoothly."
Sherly took a deep breath. The three of them walked up a spiral staircase, circling upward until they reached the third floor.
The cathedral looked untouched by the invasion that had happened before.
Thanks to Ethan’s reconstruction project, the building had been fully repaired. Everything looked peaceful, organized, and clean again.
The guide stopped walking when the door to the Class Advancent chamber opened. Several players were waiting inside, their faces focused and nervous.
They all watched the center of the room, where a player sat within a circular formation. He seed deep in concentration, choosing his new class.
Sherly’s eyes followed theirs. This was her first ti witnessing the Class Advancent process up close. It felt intimidating, and a twinge of nervousness twisted inside her chest.
"I’m nervous," Sherly admitted.
Ethan chuckled quietly.
"I was the sa back then," he said.
"But the feeling disappears once you start."
The players rotated one by one. Each ti soone made a choice, the formation flashed with bright light, confirming their new class.
After nearly an hour of waiting, the guide finally called Sherly’s na. Her heart jumped. It was her turn.
The guide instructed her to sit in the center of the formation and empty her mind. He warned her not to resist anything she felt or saw. Doing so would keep the available classes aligned with her nature.
Sherly followed his instructions. She sat down, folded her hands in her lap, and closed her eyes. She took several deep breaths, letting her anxiety drain away.
Ethan stood at the edge of the room, his arms crossed as he quietly watched her. The other players murmured among themselves when they noticed Ethan standing there. It wasn’t every day they saw soone like him in person.
Not long after, a soft glow illuminated the formation beneath Sherly. She opened her eyes as the panel materialized in her view.
Three options appeared: Knight Templar, Paladin, and Magic Swordsman.
She could choose sothing else if she wanted, but the risk of imbalance or incompatibility was high.
She took another breath. Her eyes moved over the options, then she began eliminating them one by one. Knight Templar didn’t suit her.
Paladin wasn’t an option after what Ethan saw earlier. She removed both choices and selected Magic Swordsman.
The guide stepped forward and helped her finalize the selection. The mont she confird it, a strong magical pulse spread across the formation.
Blue and silver light swirled around her as the system rewritten her class data. A blade ford behind her back, hovering with a soft magical resonance.
Sherly glanced over her shoulder and felt the sudden change in her aura.
Ethan noticed it too. Her appearance shifted subtly, her posture straightened, and her eyes looked sharper. Magic flickered faintly around her.
She had done it. She had officially beco a Magic Swordsman.
And to Ethan, it was genuinely an interesting class.
