When the advancing waters reached the clouds and continued upward toward the veiled Planar Barrier that had protected Ethemia from external detection, they did not stop or slow.

The process was thodical and inexorable...each wave that struck the barrier absorbed another section of its structure, converting defensive energy into fuel for continued expansion until the entire protective shell began to buckle under forces it had never been designed to withstand.
