After recalling his Beedrill to its Poké Ball for a much-needed rest, the Bug Catcher threw another ball. A Butterfree appeared, fluttering its massive white wings patterned with black veins.

"Litten, co back for now," Feng Che called. The kitten stepped aside, its orange eyes fixed on the new opponent.

Butterfree possess compound eyes that glow a pale red and wings covered in fine, toxic scales capable of repelling water. When they flap their wings with force, these scales scatter into the air. While common among beginners, Butterfree are versatile, capable of learning Psychic moves and even possessing the potential for Gigantamaxing.

"Go, Froakie!"

Froakie erged, its gaze locking onto the spirited Butterfree. The thrill of battle began to simr in its veins.

[Froakie: This Butterfree looks incredibly dangerous. I must be extrely cautious. It probably has a terrifying hidden ultimate move.]

"Butterfree, use Confusion!"

"Froakie, avoid the ntal interference and use Camouflage!"

Froakie vanished instantly, blending into the forest foliage so perfectly that it was invisible to the naked eye.

"Butterfree, use Confusion to scan the area! Sense its presence!" the Bug Catcher commanded, sweating.

"Froakie, Water Pulse!"

Two orbs of water materialized in mid-air and expanded to the size of basketballs. Froakie hurled them at the butterfly. Butterfree tried to crush the orbs with telekinetic force, but the resulting explosion turned the pulses into a torrential downpour that drenched its wings. The concussive force left Butterfree disoriented—it had fallen into a state of Confusion.

"Froakie, Water Gun!"

Froakie spat five high-speed jets of water. To its shock, the dazed Butterfree swerved erratically, inadvertently dodging every single jet.

[Froakie: It dodged them?! How can every opponent I face be this monstrously strong?]

Feng Che sighed. The only reason Froakie missed was because the Butterfree was flying in such a chaotic, drunken pattern that its movents were impossible to predict.

"Butterfree, snap out of it! Use Poison Powder!" The boy blew a whistle around his neck. The sharp sound seed to clear the butterfly's mind. It flapped its wings, raining down shimring purple scales that looked like a fairy's dress under the sunlight.

As the powder touched the grass below, the greenery withered instantly.

"Froakie, use Water Pulse to wash the toxins away!" Feng Che shouted.

Froakie shivered, looking at the dead grass.

[Froakie: This enemy is lethal! I have to use my absolute strongest move or I'm dead! I can't let a single grain of that powder touch !]

Froakie pressed its palms together. Feng Che watched as the frog began to rotate its hands at a blurring speed. Water energy gathered, spiraling into a gargantuan orb that humd with the sound of a crashing ocean wave.

"That... that's basically an Oodama Rasengan," Feng Che muttered, stunned. "You're really leaning into the ninja the, aren't you?"

[Froakie: Focus... focus... I must pour everything into this one strike to survive this 'mighty' foe!]

Feng Che facepald. It's just a standard Poison Powder, you paranoid frog! You're using a sledgehamr to kill a fly!

Froakie launched the massive, one-ter-wide spiraling water orb. Butterfree, its wings still heavy from the previous soaking, couldn't maneuver in ti. It was sucked into the vortex, spinning helplessly.

Splash! The orb detonated into a fine mist. The Butterfree plumted, hitting the ground with a wet thud, its wings covered in mud and its eyes swirled in unconsciousness.

[Froakie: Phew. That was close. I barely defeated such a powerful enemy.] Froakie wiped "cold sweat" from its brow and exhaled a long breath of relief.

"Butterfree! No!" The Bug Catcher ran to his Pokémon, his voice cracking with emotion.

Feng Che felt a bit guilty, like he was bullying a child. "Don't worry, it's just exhausted. A little dicine and rest, and it'll be fine." He tossed the boy a high-grade potion.

"Your strength is undeniable," the boy said, applying the potion. "You might actually have a chance against that Scyther. It's only a newborn, but it wiped out my whole team. It's a true warrior... I've never seen a Scyther with a gaze that sharp."

He stood up, his expression serious. "This is my final and strongest partner. If you beat it, I'll give you the coordinates. Go, Parasect!"

A giant mushroom-backed insect erged, its blank, white eyes staring vacantly at Feng Che.

"Froakie, take a break," Feng Che said. "Go, Ivysaur! This is your debut. Show what you can do."

The newly evolved Ivysaur stepped forward. It looked hesitant, its body trembling slightly.

"Ivysaur, believe in yourself. You are strong," Feng Che encouraged. While Froakie was "salty" and cautious, Ivysaur suffered from a deep lack of confidence due to its past. Feng Che needed to build its spirit through victory.

"Parasect, Stun Spore!"

A cloud of golden spores erupted from the giant mushroom.

"Ivysaur, use the bud on your back to inhale the spores, then follow my lead! Don't feel pressured, just take it step by step!"

Ivysaur took a deep breath, its bud acting like a vacuum, pulling the golden cloud into its system without effect.

"Now, Solar Beam! Use that energy!"

Golden light gathered instantly at the tip of the pink bud.

"Parasect, Dig! Hide!" the boy shouted.

The Parasect vanished into the earth just as the golden pillar of energy roared across the clearing. The beam slamd into an ancient tree, snapping its massive trunk in two with a thunderous CRACK.

Its charging speed is twice as fast as a normal Ivysaur, and the power is doubled, Feng Che noted. But it's a heavy drain. It can only do that twice more before collapsing.

Ivysaur was panting, but its eyes were wide with shock. I... I did that?

"You're amazing, Ivysaur! Look at that power! Keep going!"

Ivysaur's body glowed with a faint green light. It activated Grassy Terrain, causing flowers to bloom instantly beneath its feet. It stood in the center of the floral field, the natural energy slowly restoring its spent stamina.
