Any random expert from the Blood Refining Realm could crush them like ants.

"Hurry, let’s go!"

Jiang Yuanfan grunted, pulling Fatty into an even narrower alley.

The money pouch in his robe felt as heavy as a block of iron, searing his chest with panic.

Panicked, the two of them ran without looking, darting through the maze of alleyways like headless flies.

The more they panicked, the more lost they beca. The alleys grew more remote, the crowds thinner, and the light dimr.

Finally, they were cornered in a dead-end alley piled high with junk.

From all sides, five or six figures closed in on them.

Each man had a vicious look in his eyes and a savage grin on his face as they slowly tightened the circle.

So held sabers, others swords. Their bulging temples and steady auras told the pair that these were dangerous n.

Fatty was so scared his legs went soft. Jiang Yuanfan’s face was ashen as he pressed his back against the cold wall, clenching his fists in despair.

A chip of plaster from the wall fell into his hand, its rough texture grating against his skin.

At that mont, the money pouch felt like a red-hot branding iron against his chest.

Just as the situation reached a breaking point, Fatty’s panicked gaze suddenly locked onto the alley entrance as if he’d seen his savior.

His eyes instantly lit up, and he used every ounce of his strength to yell, his voice cracking, "Fan!!"

Jiang Yuanfan, startled by the shout, followed his gaze—

The alley entrance was dark and empty. There was no sign of Chu Fan.

’That damned Fatty, lying at a ti like this!’

’But this is a dead end! There’s no other way out!’

Suddenly...

A sliver of twilight pierced the gloom at the alley entrance, carrying with it the sour stench from the street outside.

A head peeked in, followed by an amused voice. "What kind of ga are you all playing in here?"

"Fan! It’s really you!"

Jiang Yuanfan’s eyes flashed with light. The knuckles he had clenched until they were white finally relaxed. His eyes imdiately reddened and his nose stung with emotion—a mont ago, he had been certain of his death. Now, it was as if he’d crawled back from the gates of hell!

Fatty forgot to tremble, his mouth agape as he stared at Chu Fan’s figure, so wide you could have fit a fist in it. Even his breathing grew faint.

The thugs surrounding them froze, their movents ceasing.

Their leader squinted toward the entrance. When he saw that Chu Fan was just a young man in a green robe, with a few bits of grass from the woods clinging to his shoulder, the savage grin returned to his face.

Chu Fan stepped out from the entrance, his green robe brushing against the moss at the base of the wall. He grinned at the n. "What are you all up to?"

The contempt in his smile stung like a needle. He had the face of a young man, but his eyes were as cold as ice.

The n’s hearts burned with anger, as if they’d been slapped in the face in public.

The leader’s face fell, a vicious glint in his eyes. He was just about to speak. "We’re..."

"Here to take a dump, are you?"

Chu Fan cut him off, his tone casual.

The leader’s mouth twitched, his face turning livid. The veins on his saber-gripping hand bulged. "We’re here to..."

"Here to take a dump, I assu?"

Chu Fan chid in again, the mockery in his voice even thicker.

"Take this!"

The man could no longer contain himself. Forgetting to even signal his n, he drew the crude saber from his waist with a SCHWING. Its cold gleam traced a short arc in the twilight as it slashed straight for Chu Fan’s face!

The wind from the blade carried a foul stench, rustling the stray hairs on Chu Fan’s forehead.

Chu Fan’s body swayed like a willow in the wind, narrowly dodging the blade. The edge grazed his shoulder and struck the earthen wall behind him, kicking up a spray of dirt.

Before the man could retract his saber, Chu Fan’s palm was already on his face. With a slight pressure from his knuckles, he viciously slamd the man’s head into the wall!

THUD!

The muffled impact sounded like a drumbeat. Plaster dust rained down, mixed with flecks of blood.

The man cried out in pain, his legs gave out, and he slid down the wall to the ground. A large gash had opened on his temple, and blood stread down his cheek, plastering his eyes shut.

Droplets of blood seeped into the cracks in the wall before dripping to the ground. The coppery stench of it spread instantly, mingling with the alley’s musty odor and turning the stomach.

Seeing this, the other n erupted into a frenzy. Shouting as one, they pounced like ravenous wolves.

So threw punches, others kicks, their whistling blows all aid at Chu Fan.

The air in the dead-end alley suddenly turned cold, and even the light seed to dim. Killing intent, thick as dust, rushed at him.

At the far end of the alley, Jiang Yuanfan’s heart leaped into his throat. His fingernails dug into his palms, the pain turning to numbness without him even noticing. ’Chu Fan is strong, but in such a confined space against so many people... what if he makes a mistake...’

Fatty’s flesh quivered, but he clutched the money pouch tightly, not daring to move forward even half a step. He could only stare at the brawl, holding his breath.

The smile vanished from Chu Fan’s face, and his gaze turned cold and sharp.

He sidestepped a punch from the left while simultaneously lifting his right foot and kicking viciously at the stomach of the man in front of him.

BAM!

The dull thud was accompanied by the faint crack of bone. The man doubled over like a shelled shrimp and was sent flying into the person behind him.

Three or four n collapsed in a heap, crying out in pain. As they fell, they knocked over a broken wooden crate, sending rotten cloth and splinters scattering across the ground.

The faces of the last two n turned ghostly pale. Only then did they realize they had picked a fight with the wrong person.

The hair on their necks stood on end, and their legs felt weak. But with the dead-end alley blocked on both sides, there was nowhere to run.

They exchanged a look, gritted their teeth, and charged forward, deciding to fight to the death.

But Chu Fan gave them no such chance. His figure flickered like a phantom, moving as fast as a shadow.

His fists flew, whistling through the air. It was the Bear Form Shattering Fist from the Twelve Forms Fist, each heavy, ferocious blow aid straight for a vital point.

THWACK! THWACK! THWACK!

A series of muffled impacts rang out. With every punch that landed, one could almost hear their internal organs rattling.

The n didn’t even have ti to finish their screams before they spat up blood and collapsed. So clutched their chests and convulsed; others curled into balls, lacking the strength to even twitch.

The alley grew quiet, leaving only the ragged gasps of the n on the ground and the scent of blood hanging in the air.

Chu Fan glanced down at the n on the ground, his voice cold. "Leave your valuables, then get the hell out of my sight!"

"If I ever see any of you again, I’ll beat you down every single ti!"

As if granted amnesty, the n scrambled to pull out their broken silver and money pouches, placing them timidly on the ground with trembling hands.

Only then did Jiang Yuanfan and Fatty dare to run over. Fatty squatted down and deftly stuffed the valuables into his own robes, a grin stretching from ear to ear.

Jiang Yuanfan stood beside Chu Fan, his eyes filled with gratitude, but for a mont, he was at a loss for words.

The n watched their belongings being collected, not daring to say a word. They struggled to their feet, supported one another, and shuffled past Chu Fan one slow step at a ti.

They kept their heads down, not even daring to look at Chu Fan, wanting only to leave this hellhole as quickly as possible.

But just as they reached the mouth of the alley, their fingertips about to touch the twilight outside—

A figure flashed before their eyes!

Chu Fan suddenly leaped in front of them, that sa smile returning to his face. "Hey, fancy eting you here! We et again!"

"Huh?" The n froze, their eyes wide and uncomprehending.

Before they could even process what was happening, Chu Fan struck.

This ti, he struck with lethal force. His hand whistled through the air as he raised it.

SMACK!

The slap landed on the back of the first man’s head. With a soft CRACK, the man’s head twisted completely around. His eyes bulged, and he collapsed to the ground, lifeless.

Another man started to shout, but Chu Fan’s hand was already in front of him.

PTHOO!

He sprayed a mouthful of blood as his body flew like a kite with a snapped string, soaring from the alley entrance to the far end of the dead end. He slamd against the earthen wall with a THUD and slid to the ground. His chest was caved in, his breaths shallow and ragged.

The last few n were scared out of their wits, their hair standing on end. With a desperate cry, they threw themselves at Chu Fan—but they had lost all semblance of a plan. It was rely the last struggle of a cornered animal.

Chu Fan remained silent, his body weaving between them. Every punch landed on a vital point.

THWACK! THWACK!

With two more muffled thuds, the last two n also coughed up blood and fell. They twitched a few tis, then went still.

The alley fell completely silent, leaving only the sound of Fatty’s and Jiang Yuanfan’s ragged breathing.

Jiang Yuanfan’s face was pale as he looked at the corpses on the ground, but he didn’t ask any questions. ’He knows that Chu Fan must have a reason for this. The black market is the law of the jungle. Showing rcy to your enemies is being cruel to yourself.’

Chu Fan glanced down at the bodies, his brow unfurrowed. He tilted his head slightly. "Let’s go."
